Oh my word... we had the best time making these FABULOUS "purses" out of the new Carousel Note cards and envelopes (in the Occasions Mini catalog from Stampin' Up!). HUGE THANKS TO Jan Tinklenberg for posting this most amazing idea on her blog this week!! WOW!!
Yesterday, Sharon and Ellen and I decided to tackle this project... seemed simple enough - well, I mean.. you are just using a pack of Carousel Notes and a pack of Afternoon Tea DSP, right?? LOL.. check this out... here is all the stuff we got out to make this project!!
OK, back to the pretty projects.... here are the 3 purses we made, including some close ups of some of the fun embellishments we came up with.
The "purse" is made with 2 of the big 6x6 Chocolate Chip envelopes that come wtih the Carousel Notes, plus a piece of Choc. Chip c/s measuring 6-3/16" sq. (scored in 1/2) in the center (the envelope flaps are both stick to this). Then you add a Carousel note for the top flap, and put a Carousel note inside each envelope pocket, and embellish with Afternoon Tea DSP (and a ton of other stuff!) LOL
This one was made my Ellen:
This one was made by Sharon:
And this was mine:
Here are some close-ups of the fun embellishments we came up with:
OK.. so how many of you are going to go play with your Carousel Notes today!!? Have fun!

These are so pretty! I saw this on Jan Tink's blog the other day. Thanks for sharing all the photos and the details on how to make it. I can't wait to give it a try.

Cute, cute, cute, and clever, clever, clever. Great embellishment! Isn't it amazing how much "stuff" ends up on the table when you're stamping?!? ej

Never mind my question, I enlarged the picture and see it is just a little plastic box. But, I also noticed the very important supply of girl scout cookies that you used. No wonder these turned out soooo great!!
Have a wonderful week!

When I saw this purse I feel in love with it - but know I can't even think about making it until the weekend. With work, kids lacrosse practices (driving them back and forth-of course the girls team has to play at their sister school), chores and work I won't even see my stamping room until the weekend. And even then - Sam's Birthday is Sunday and my parents are coming for dinner and Saturday - Lacrosse games in the middle of the day!!!!!! Don't these coaches know weekends are stamping time (i mean family time LOL)
Thanks for all the pictures of your purse. They came out great.

Yes, these are freakin' amazing. I saw them on Jan's site and was going to try to figure them out with my Carosel notes arrived. Thank you for giving me a head start. It didn't occur to me to use the envelopes. Duh!

Wow, that is so cool!!!
Are the carousel notes are like real cards (you can open them up) or just a scalloped circle card front?
