I am soooooooooo excited!! When I first saw Shelli demo the BIG SHOT die cutting machine on stage at Convention last week, I was THRILLED!!! When she showed the Pennant Die, I immediately "saw" scalloped edges!!! Rather than creating the entire pennant shape with scalloped edges, I actually saw something "out of the box" and visualized just the scallops!
Check this out... so... here is what the die looks like (ignore the yellow and red scallops... that has nothing to do with this tutorial!):
The small and large Pennant shapes are supposed to cut this:
BUT INSTEAD... HERE IS WHAT I DID...
I placed scraps on just the scallop edge part:
Ran it through the BIG SHOT die cutting machine:
and voila... you get THIS!!:
OK>> is that TOO COOL or WHAT?
So, then I added them to cards, and came up with this birthday card made from a folded Open End Envelope (thanks to Jennifer Thomas for that idea!)
I used the smaller pennant die scalloped edge on the front:
and I used the larger pennant die scalloped edge inside:
Too cool! So now with our new scalloped edge PUNCH plus these 2 scalloped edges, we have 3 scalloped edges to choose from!
And did you notice how the scallop circle layers with our scallop circle punch? :) I'll be posting a comparison of all the scallop circle dies in a day or 2... stay tuned.. and have fun with your BIG SHOT!
What a beautiful card! I'm a huge fan of scalloped edges. Can't wait to get a BS of my own!

Oh wow! HOw clever are you!! I didn't *plan* on getting the pennant die on my first order yet tomorrow, but now you're not making it easy!! And I've reworked that darn order over and over today! lol! Thanks for sharing this great tip!! =)

Great idea Patty! I thought it was really cool to see how you can use just part of the die to create different things. Loved those masks that Shelli did! I really enjoyed meeting you at convention. You probably don't remember though - it was right after you were announced as being on the advisory board, so you were only there in body! ha ha ha!!!

Patty, I too save long narrow strips of DSP and cardstock, so thanks for showing me how to use them! I haven't played with this particular die yet, but I did get it! I'm LOVING that little scallop edge envie and the Top Note!!
I'm wondering if any of the stamps in the All Scallops set matches one of the scallops in the pennant??
