Fun Tins!

I found these great tins at Target and loved the bright colors!!  I decided to dress them up with new buttons, ribbon, brads, etc.   I used the Crop A Dile to punch holes when needed.   Aren't they cute with our In Color Ribbon???!!  These will go with me to workshops and meetings for the Make & Takes!

Tins

I added buttons from Stampin' Up!'s Button Bouquet using Glue Dots:

Tin light blue

I punched holes with the CAD and added Stampin' Up! flower brads:

Tin green

I punched holes in this one with the CAD and wove In Color Striped ribbon through it... love the complimentary blue and Tangerine Tango!

Bella Rose Stampin' Up! Designer Papers.. I'm In Love!

OOOOOOOOOOH my goodness.... I am sooooooooo in love with these new designer papers from Stampin' Up!  This package will be available in the new catalog on August 11th.  Demonstrators could order it early.  It's right up my alley - with my love of roses and gardening!!  It's called Bella Rose!  I love it!

I spent my free time today making this booklet... it's the same type of booklet that I shared last week from Sharon (here).  This book uses CD folders - I used 2 in my project, Sharon used 3.  I've tried to take pix from many angles to help you see how it's put together.  I'll definitely be teaching this as a class with one of our new Simply Scrappin' Kits in August or Sept., and will offer it as a kit on my blog too!  It's an amazing book.. it is so fun to hold in your hands... it doesn't come across as well in the photos,.. but trust me.. this is a "must make" project!!  :)

here is the cover with Bella Rose paper and Kiwi Kiss textured c/s and new Riding Hood Red button:

And I know you'll ask.. I got the cd folders from Uline HERE.  They are $29 for a box of 125.

Whew.. that's all for now... can't wait to get back to my new stuff, but need to take my son to the golf course first! (Monday night church golf league) :)

Pockets & Pieces SNEAK PEEK

OOOOOOOOOoooohhhhhhh we are going to have SO much fun in our Pockets & Pieces class next Saturday!!  I can't wait!   AND.. everything is all ready and cut, too!  Now THAT'S a miracle! :)

Here's a sneak peek of a few of the projects we'll be making.. each class participant will also be using sticker sheets from the MESSENGER Accents & Elements tin. Yahoo - we are going to have fun!!

Sneak peek copy

Accordion pocket filled

You'll need to wait a week to see ALL the projects and get all the details, but I'll be sure to post them after class next Saturday.

Geesh, I'm still upset with the quality of the text on the photos.. it's a Typepad "known issue".. what's so frustrating is that it only happened AFTER their system upgrade... ugh.. Oh well.. please bear with me.

Special Delivery Baby Book

My friend Tai had a baby girl 2 weeks ago and I made this little scrapbook for her using the Stampin' Up! "Special Delivery - Girl" Simply Scrappin' kit (pg 173).  I used the On Board Book Basic chipboard pieces (pg 179) for the front and back cover.  It's similar to THIS BOOK I made for my husband, but I used the cardstock pieces in the Simply Scrappin' kit for the pages of this baby book instead of making all the pages out of the chipboard.

Here are a few of the inside pages from the book:

Congratulation, Tai and Martin!  Your little girl is adorable!

Thanks to my stampin' friend Erin for inpiring me to do this - see her great baby girl project HERE.

Open End Envelope Book idea

My super stampin' friend Sharon gave this to me quite awhile ago - what a super friend!!  I realize that the Tart & Tangy set and the Summer Picnic paper are no longer available, but you can certainly adapt this GREAT book idea to any stamp set and paper.

She used an Open End Envelope as the front and back cover for this book with Real Red cardstock pages in between, all bound with the Bind It All machine.. too cool, don't ya think?

Env book cherry 1

She decorated the pages with Sticky Strip and glitter.. how quick and easy but so fun !

Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

Anniversary book   Yesterday my hubby and I celebrated 22 years of marriage!  I made him a book using the Stampin' Up! On Board Book Basics small chipboard pages (pg 179).  I covered them with a variety of Desgner Papers and Simply Scrappin' Kit pieces.  Of course I used my Bind It All to bind the pages together (my favorite "toy").  Enjoy the trip down memory lane...

"Sea Glass" Bracelet - FABULOUS!!

Yep... SHE'S AT IT AGAIN!!  Sharon made me this AMAZING bracelet.. it's "faux sea glass".  She made it by coloring shrink plastic with a mix of crystal effects and reinkers!!  Isn't this just GORGEOUS!!?

Seaglass bracelet

It looks like wonderful pieces of sea glass, doesn't it??  She combined Stampin' Up! Rhinestone brads and various charms to complete the bracelet.  I am ONE LUCKY GIRL!  Thanks Sharon!

On a different note.. I'm having fits with typepad lately.. I am so upset with the quality of the text on all my photos.. they say they are fixing the issue, but so far, no dice. If you click on the photo to make it larger, the text looks fine - just like I saved it on my computer.. but it looks so unprofessional when displayed on my blog.... so come on typepad.. let's get this fixed please! And I apologize for the way my posts have been displaying lately.. I'm totally embarassed.  ugh.

Have a great weekend.. I will have a special wedding anniversary project to share with you at some point this weekend, but I can't take pix right now.. the light coming in my house is all ORANGE due to all the fires all around here.

Double Pull-Out Book - class project

We had such a fun time in our stamping class today!! We made Double Pull Out Books using Stampin' Up! Designer Series papers. Each student picked their own paper ahead of time. The tutorial for this project was featured on SCS this week, so THANK YOU Corinne for saving me the time in not having to come up with the handout all on my own! :)

Today I'm showing you the 2 projects I made, and I'll feature the student's projects on Tuesday.

I used WESTERN SKY designer paper for this one:

Western sky 1

Western sky 2

(click on any image to make them bigger)

Western sky 3

And I used AFTERNOON TEA designer paper for this one:

Aft tea 1

Aft tea 2

 Aft tea 3

Did ya catch that cute little star pattern on the extreme left and right squares?? I actually figured this out by myself.. TOOOOOOOO cool:

Aft tea corners

Use the Photo Corner Punch to punch out 4 green corners and layer then onto your 2-3/4" square and you get that TOTALLY COOL STAR DESIGN!

Well.. yep, she did it again.. she gave me a gift a few months ago that I turned into this Paper Bag Book class!   I revamped the design slightly and used the same Rose Cottage Simply Scrappin' kit she did.. LOVE these colors!!  Everyone who made this in class this week really enjoyed it, not only how easily it goes together but decorating it with the Simply Scrappin' Kit is tooooo fun!

Each paper bag has a "pocket page" that slips inside:

Here are some dimensions for you:

Paper Bag Book cutting dimensions

By Patty Bennett ~ www.PattyStamps.com

Paper Bags used:  6-1/8” x 4” x 12-3/8”  “Giant Size AJM” bags from Smart & Final (50 pk)

Cut the bottoms off of 4 bags as follows:

                   1 bag cut at 4-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 5-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 6-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 7-1/2”

Cutting Directions: Using your Simply Scrappin’ Kit, follow these cutting directions to make a decorated Paper Bag Book:

1.        take 3 of the solid color cardstock sheets from your pack

2.       cut each sheet in ½ (so they are 6”x12”)

·        cut one color at 5” (yield: 5”x6”)

·        cut a 2nd color at 6” (yield: 6”x6”)

·        cut a 3rd color at 7” (yield: 7”x6”)

a.       this creates 3 “pages” for in between the paper bags

3.       using 3 of your remaining 6x12 sheets, trim them down to 5-3/4”x12”

·        cut one color at 4” (use the remaining 7”x5-3/4” piece)

·        cut a 2nd color at 5”

·        cut a 3rd color at 6”

a.       this creates 4 pieces for inside each paper bag (you may have to trim them again slightly if they stick out of the bag too far)

Assembly – top to bottom:
          4-1/2” bag

          5x6 cardstock page

          5-1/2” bag

          6x6 cardstock page

          6-1/2” bag

          7x6 cardstock page

          7-1/2” bag

Staple them together, and cover staples with a cardstock or patterned paper strip using STICKY STRIP.

Decorate your paper bag books with the patterned paper in the SS kit and the self adhesive die cuts.  Use the “tabs” in the die cuts for your paper bag book inserts or use the Round Tag Punch for tabs.

1 Simply Scrappin’ kit yields supplies for 4 Paper Bag books of this size.
