Special Delivery Baby Book

My friend Tai had a baby girl 2 weeks ago and I made this little scrapbook for her using the Stampin' Up! "Special Delivery - Girl" Simply Scrappin' kit (pg 173).  I used the On Board Book Basic chipboard pieces (pg 179) for the front and back cover.  It's similar to THIS BOOK I made for my husband, but I used the cardstock pieces in the Simply Scrappin' kit for the pages of this baby book instead of making all the pages out of the chipboard.

Here are a few of the inside pages from the book:

Baby girl pg 5

Congratulation, Tai and Martin!  Your little girl is adorable!

Thanks to my stampin' friend Erin for inpiring me to do this - see her great baby girl project HERE.

Open End Envelope Book idea

My super stampin' friend Sharon gave this to me quite awhile ago - what a super friend!!  I realize that the Tart & Tangy set and the Summer Picnic paper are no longer available, but you can certainly adapt this GREAT book idea to any stamp set and paper.

She used an Open End Envelope as the front and back cover for this book with Real Red cardstock pages in between, all bound with the Bind It All machine.. too cool, don't ya think?

She decorated the pages with Sticky Strip and glitter.. how quick and easy but so fun !

Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

Anniversary book   Yesterday my hubby and I celebrated 22 years of marriage!  I made him a book using the Stampin' Up! On Board Book Basics small chipboard pages (pg 179).  I covered them with a variety of Desgner Papers and Simply Scrappin' Kit pieces.  Of course I used my Bind It All to bind the pages together (my favorite "toy").  Enjoy the trip down memory lane...

One Sheet Pocket Books - TOO CUTE!

Oh my goodness... I get SO excited over each new project I embark on... and this one is no exception - these are just WAY TOO MUCH FUN to make!!!  I did all these in well under an hour!!  I used a variety of my Stampin' Up! Designer papers and embellished a few of them with die cuts, rub-ons, punched images, etc. EACH ONE ONLY USES ONE 12x12 SHEET OF DESIGNER PAPER!!  How fun is that?

12x12_dsp_book_1

Check it out.. they are like little mini versions of the Card Organizers!!  Too cute!

12x12_dsp_book_2

Here is a photo showing what you can put in the pockets.. it will hold wallet size photos, and credit card size items:

12x12_dsp_book_pockets

Of course I used my Bind It All machine to bind them.. I'm certainly getting my money's worth out of this fabulous little machine! (I used 1/2" coils, per Vicki's instructions).

They are perfect to hold gift cards, wallet size photos, tags, small notes, coupons, love notes, anything that is approx. credit card sized!!  Oh the possibilities....

Elizabeth offered the following terrific suggestions for filling your pocket book:

Awesome project!!! I think these will be a big hit with school age kids as well for halloween or valentines. Also a nice gift for a teacher also - put in movie tickets or a gift card, a note of thanks from you and one from your child along with your child's school pic in it would make a wonderful end of year teacher's gift! Thanks so much for this! I love your projects and your blog! -Elizabeth

Check out Vicki's Blog - Angel Stamper - HERE to view her fabulous tutorial on how to make these!  Thanks Vicki for your inspiration!  These are FAB !!

JB's birthday card

Right before we left on the Stampin' Up! cruise, our son celebrated his 17th birthday.  I didn't have time to share the card I made for him before we left, so I wanted to do that now.   I used our 3x3 Mini Envelopes (pg 167 in the catalog) and tucked in each flap, decorated them with paper from the Western Sky DSP pack, then bound them with my Bind It All machine.  Inside each pouch, we put a bill: a $1, $5, $10, $20 and $50.  Jason exclaimed he would have liked 6 pouches... and we said, "well then there would have been a $2 in there!" LOL  Get it?  hee hee

All of the patterned paper and cardstock comes from my FAVORITE Simply Scrappin' Kit:  Summer Days.  I stamped the "lines" stamp from Live Your Dream and made journaling boxes for Day 1 to Day 7 on each page..  a fun mini-journal to keep track of the highlights of the criuse!!

Class project: 12 pocket card organizer

Everyone really enjoyed class this week - the "12 Pocket Card Organizer".  We used 6 sheets of Stampin' Up! designer Series paper to make the 12 pockets, and used the white chipboard/cardboard that comes in the DSP package for the front and back covers.  Then the fun part... we used my Bind It All to bind all the pocket pages together!   Each pocket has a month of the year on it and you can use it to track birthdays and anniversaries of family and friends.  Then you tuck cards in the pockets when you find a perfect card for that person!

I made the title on Photoshop, and everyone added it to their cover.

The calendar months can be found on splitcoast HERE.

For the pocket pages, score your 12x12 at 4" then FLIP IT and score it at 6".  Fold the 4" pocket up and then fold it in 1/2 at the 6" mark.  It is similar to this tutorial on SCS.

Thank you to Sandi L. for the idea!

These make great gifts... give the recipient a few cards to get them started! :)

EDITED TO ADD:

Thank you to Tammy for asking about the coil size.. I meant to add that information and forgot!

As you can see by this photo:

Coil_2

The coil looks HUGE on the bound 12 pocket project (left), but when you get cards in the pockets (right), you can see why you use a large coil!  We used the 1" coils, but you could even use a larger one!!

Bind it All machine

Binditall I've had some questions, both on the blog comments and personal emails asking for more details about the Bind It All machine I used for the Coaster Calendar project and the Tag Book

In the Coaster Calendar class this week, each person bound their own calendar when they were done decorating it.  I taught each person how to do it and they all loved the Bind it All machine!  The machine is from Zutter and you can view it here.  It's small and light weight and pretty straight forward to use.  OK, well, after searching the internet for "tips" and "how to's" for 2 hours, it was easy to use !  LOL

Supplies can be found on many sites.  I purchased (a ton of) coils from this site: http://www.bonniesbest.com/bind-it-all.htm  You can do a google search for Bind it All or search on ebay for the machine and binding supplies if you are interested in ordering.

Now that I have purchased a life-time supply of coils, we'll be binding EVERYTHING that doesn't move in future classes!

Here are some projects or tutorials for the Bind It All that you might find helpful (and will save you a 2 hour search on google):

Coaster Calendar Class

I was SO excited to get my Bind It All machine and start planning some fun projects to make good use of it!   This is a sneak peek at my UPCOMING class next week:  Coaster Calendar using the Bind It All machine!  I'm going to get smaller coils in white... so no need to email me telling me that this one looks too big.  (grin) It's a learn as you go thing.  :)
