Workshop Projects

These are the 3 cards we made at Stacey's workshop this weekend.. enjoy!

Upsy daisy

To color the flowers from Upsy Daisy, ink them in Tangerine Tango, then use a sponge dauber to add some Riding Hood Red ink to the rubber, then stamp.

Notice the rhinestone brad in the center of the flower brad.. I love this combo!

Scallop Envelope Bigz die - Big Shot machine

Ok, on to my newest "kick"... making cards with the Scallop Envelope Bigz die and the Stampin' Up! Big Shot!  Too fun!  These little envelopes are darling on the front of a card!  I just love them! They hold a 2x3 card inside!

I used one of my current favorite Designer Series Papers... Georgia Peach for these:

Georgia peach cards

These are Old Olive 4x4 cards (for info on how to cut 12x12 cardstock into (4) 4x4 cards, see my previous post HERE).  I scalloped the bottom edge of the card with our Scallop edge punch and added Georgia Peach DSP, and the little envelope cut from the Scallop Envelope Bigz die.  Tuck a little 2x3 card inside and you still have room to write a message inside the folded card!

And here is the same idea using the Summer Picnic DSP and Pacific Point cardstock and ribbon..

Holiday Treasures cards

{{Wow.. 500 blog posts... where has the time gone?}}

I am having SO much fun with this idea... I am using the Small Open End Envelopes (pg 167 in the Stampin' Up! catalog), tucking in the envelope flap, folding them in 1/2 and then decorating the front and inside to make a cute little 3x3 folded card!

SUPPLIES: I made these samples with the fabulous new Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper!  I've included my favorite new accessory on some of them - the Filigree Brads (pg 184).. LOVE them! I've also used the Flower brads, die cuts from the Big Shot, the fabulous new Button Bouquet buttons, and wonderful new ribbon!

Holiday treasures fronts

There is a 3x3 pull out note inside the open end of the envelope (see tab sticking out on the right side)

There is another sample using this folded envelope idea HERE.  I'll be posting another one using Urban Garden DSP later this week.

I finally opened my Basket Die for the Stampin' Up! Big Shot.... so many new fun things to play with and so little time!! :)   Here is a 4x4 card I made using the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! and the flowers and tag that comes on the Baskets & Blooms Bigz die:

Bella Rose flowers with the Big Shot machine

I was inspired by a card by Gretchen (see her blog HERE), using the Big Shot flower dies and the Stampin' Up! Bella Rose papers!!  So I copied it using the Stampin' UP! dies I had, including the Tulipe Bigz die for some of the "greenery".

These are ALL cut with the dies and the Big Shot, except for the green punched flower!

Bella rose flowers

Then I decided that this would make a lovely card using ANY of the Stampin' Up! designer papers, so I used the softer Pink Pirouette rose patterns from the Bella Rose package for this one!  Great wedding card, don't you think?

(click on it to enlarge.. it is so light it's difficult to see)

Thanks again Gretchen for the inspiration!

I got my order of new Stampin' Up! goodies yesterday (yes, I expedited my shipping), and by far, my most favorite things are these 2 new ribbons... OH MY GOSH>>> good thing I ordered 3 rolls of each!  I'm gonna use them up FAST!

This is the Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon... (OH YUM!!!) and the Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon... I can't even tell you how fabulous these are... wish you could feel them!!!

The Kiwi/Vanilla ribbon is "double sided"..one side is kiwi and one side is vanilla.. it is fab!

And the Riding Hood Red ribbon is super luxurious with gorgeous white detail on the edges!

Here is a little card I made with both ribbons and some of my other new stuff.. it's an open end envelope folded in 1/2 and embellished with the Bella Rose paper and some of the new buttons and Filigree brads:

My Stampin' Up! Convention Swaps

I am getting SOOOOO excited about going to Convention!!  Friends, Stamping, Ideas, Swaps, Food, Fun... whohooo!  This will be my 12th Convention - can you believe I have to leave on my hubby's 50th birthday? YIKES!  We had a big 49er party last year (HERE), so he said it was ok to go to convention and not do a big thing for his 50th this year.

Anyway... here are the 3 swap cards I'm taking with me to Convention next week.. they all use Bella Rose Designer Paper and new colors: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and of course good old Chocolate Chip!

Swap 1

For more info on the card above, click HERE.

Swap 2

Above: this card uses the Fresh Cut Notecard turned into a "pocket" - open at the top. That is one of the new Riding Hood Red buttons in the center of the big flower...  it has a funny glare on it from the flash.. sorry!

Enjoy your weekend!

Sunflower Convention Swap card

CONVENTION is coming... time for more Convention swaps!!!!  I was totally inspired by Jill's adorable card HERE, and decided I needed to make a swap card using her super cute flower idea!  WAY too cute, Jill!!!

So I made a pile of flowers... a "paper flower garden"...

Sunflower 3

(I actually ended up making 2x this many!!) :)

Then I made it into this card with Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss and Apricot Appeal cardstock:

Sunflower 1

I used the "Punches Plus" brass template and the paper piercer to add an oval of holes around the punched out greeting.

Sunflower 2

The flowers are super easy to make.. punch out Apricot cardstock with the Scallop Circle punch and then snip between each petal with Stampin' Up! Paper Snips!

Sunflower 4

(thanks to my son for the fabulous photo!)

The flower centers are punched with the 1" circle punch out of the Bella Rose paper, and the Kiwi Kiss polka dot paper is also from the Bella Rose Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper pack!

If you'd like to know how to make the fun corrugated leaves, check my previous blog post HERE.

Have a FABULOUS day!

Le Jardin paper - special gift project

I wanted to make a few special gifts to take to Convention, and this is what I came up with.  I used the CD folders (see this post) and Stampin' Up!'s Le Jardin Designer Paper..  I love this paper... I sure hope it stays in the next catalog! :)  I have saved all of my SU! inspirational stamps over the years, so you'll see some retired things in here... but they are very meaningful to me, so I still use them.

You can click on any photo to see it larger.

I had the personalized stamps made through Stampin' Up!.  I have used them on many projects.. including my Gratitude Journals HERE.  The tags go in the pocket on the right side of the folder.  I borrowed Sharon's die cut machine to make the tags.

Bella Rose Thank You Cards

I needed several Thank You cards for recent customer orders, so I used some left over pieces of the Bella Rose Designer Paper I had on my desk after making the CD Folder Book yesterday!

Bella rose cards

Notice the paper rick rack on the upper left card (you can click the photo to make it larger)... I learned how to do that with our new scallop edge punch on Julie's blog HERE.  GREAT idea!

Bella Rose Stampin' Up! Designer Papers.. I'm In Love!

OOOOOOOOOOH my goodness.... I am sooooooooo in love with these new designer papers from Stampin' Up!  This package will be available in the new catalog on August 11th.  Demonstrators could order it early.  It's right up my alley - with my love of roses and gardening!!  It's called Bella Rose!  I love it!

I spent my free time today making this booklet... it's the same type of booklet that I shared last week from Sharon (here).  This book uses CD folders - I used 2 in my project, Sharon used 3.  I've tried to take pix from many angles to help you see how it's put together.  I'll definitely be teaching this as a class with one of our new Simply Scrappin' Kits in August or Sept., and will offer it as a kit on my blog too!  It's an amazing book.. it is so fun to hold in your hands... it doesn't come across as well in the photos,.. but trust me.. this is a "must make" project!!  :)
