Mystery Plant - what is it?

I need your help.. someone is bound to know what this is...

Mystery plant 1 Mystery plant 2

This is in a friends backyard and I asked her what is was and she said "Arrowroot"... however, I've googled that and I don't think this is arrowroot.  I want to plant this in my backyard but don't know what to shop for? Guess I could take the pix to a nursery...  but if you know what it is, leave me a comment please! :)

UPDATE: thanks to Carolynn F., she pointed me in the right direction.. it appears to be an Arum Italicum, also known as Lords & Ladies, or Orange Candleflower.  THANK YOU Carolynn!! :)

More info from THIS SITE:  This is a lovely plant which grows from tubers, and flowers in the spring with typically aroid flowers. Its leaves are beautifully marbled, and very useful for flower arranging. Once the plant has flowered, the leaves tend to die away, leaving these spikes of berries, which are green at first, turning to vivid red-orange as they ripen. The seeds germinate readily after stratification (i.e. frost action over the winter), and I have several self-seeded plants popping up in different parts of the garden. They take a few years to get to flowering size, but it's worth the wait! At this time of year, the new leaves are just beginning to show through the soil again, so next month, both the berries and the leaves will be there, giving a great show!

Roses Roses everywhere!

We were having quite a wind storm here yesterday afternoon and I was worried that I'd be left with bare stems and no roses by the time it stoped blowing... so I ran out to my garden with both my camera and my garden snips... I took some photos and then cut a big bouquet to bring inside! Yay! I love the spring!

Roses - by the morning light..

I thought I'd try something different.. taking photos EARLY in the morning with the subtle morning light.  It gives everything a soft blue-ish tint... I realize I could have "Photoshoped" these photos to brighten them up, but I liked the look.   I have DOZENS of roses just ready to bloooooooooom all over the place...  yahoo!
