Last night I held a free class/Holiday party for my Stampin' Up! downline to come make several Chipboard Christmas ornaments.  Each person brought a Christmasy holiday snack to share and we had a GREAT time!!!  I'll be sharing their creations here with you over the next day or 2 ... toooo many to post all in one post.

Enjoy!  (and hey.. don't you think Stampin' Up! should still be offering these ornaments through Christmas or the end of December??  I do!!! - I want more!)

Above: quick tip from Ellen - stamp the flower image and punch it out with the circle punch, then you barely have to trim between the petals to get a cut out flower image!

OK... now go out and finish your Christmas shopping and stamp those last minute teacher/co-worker gifts!!  Have a GREAT weekend!

The M & M's Christmas Story

I decorated a ton of these tins (and I know you will ask... so I'll tell you.. they are in the "Dollar Spot" at Target) to give as little favors or Christmas gifts.  I had never heard the M & M Christmas story before, but when I read it on line last week I knew I wanted to do something with it!

here is the story:

The M & M's Christmas Story
by Pam Ridenour

As you hold these candies in your hand,
and turn them, you will see...
The M becomes a W, an E, and then a 3.
They tell the Christmas story. It's one I'm sure you know.
It took place in a stable a long, long, time ago.
The E is for the East, where the star shone so bright.
The M is for the Manger, where Baby Jesus slept that night.
The 3 is for the wise men, who came bearing gifts.
W is for Worship. Hallelujah, praise His name!
So as you eat these candies,

or share them with your friends,
remember the meaning of Christmas.

It's a love story that never ends.

Have a great day!

More Christmas gifts from our group exchange

Yesterday was our Luv 2 Stamp Group Stamp A Rama event and this year we added a "Gift Exchange" after the event.  The gift was to be in the $15-ish dollar range and something hand made using Stampin' Up! products.. all of the gifts were unique and lovely!  I tried to get photos of all of them but a few didn't come out, so I'll share the ones here that I got good photos of.  Enjoy!  Hope these inspire you if you are looking to make a handmade Christmas gift!

Christmas Chipboard Clipboard

I just got home from our Stamp A Rama event (shoebox swap for my Direct Recruits and Power Team members) and we had a GREAT time making each others projects!!  What a FUN day!! We also did a gift exchange this time which was new and everyone made such fun projects!  I'll be sharing photos over the days to come!!

The gift exchange was to be a hand made project using Stampin' Up! products in the $15-ish range.

This is what I made with the Stampin' Up! 3 clip chipboard clipboard. I used the DASHING designer series papers and several fun accessories.  I got this idea from Caro's blog but added a few different stamps and embellishments.  Enjoy!

Enjoy

I used the Craft Olive ink and sponged it on the top portion and around the side edges. It covered the chipboard like paint!

Enjoy.. have a great weekend, and check back soon for photos of the projects from Stamp A Rama!

Christmas Stamp A Stack Class samples

About 20 ladies came to stamp Christmas card samples on Saturday.. we always have SUCH a good time!!!!  Below are the samples they copied... they made 2 of each - so they went home with 10 finished Christmas cards.  Bless my dear husband for cutting the cardstock - hopefully I'll be healed enough in January to start cutting c/s again!

12_07_dsc08131_copy

ABOVE: for tip on making the wreath download the .pdf file from this previous post.  To create the green embellishment behind "Merry Christmas", stamp Merry Christmas on the Key tag punch, then punch out the Designer Label Punch in green and cut it in 1/2, separate the 2 halves and adhere them behind the greeting.

12_07_dsc08132_copy

ABOVE:  I saw this idea on several blogs.. this is not an original idea, but everyone LOVED it.  Create an oval "mask" with the Coluzzle and vellum paper, stamp and sponge inside the oval with Sage Shadow, remove the mask, and stamp the large tree & greeting.  Colors:  Sage Shadow and Forest Foliage.  Glitter the tree for some "bling" if desired.  Ticket Corner punch was used on the white and Sage Shadow layers.

12_07_dsc08135_copy

ABOVE:  I used the Oval punch in the front of the card so that the oval greeting from inside shows through the oval opening.  A Jumbo Eyelet was added using a Crop A Dile.

12_07_dsc08136_copy

ABOVE:  Watercolor technique used:  Spritz watercolor paper about 3x, and then stamp the flower from Fabulous Flowers in Purely Pomegranate ink repeatedly until you run out of ink.  A Build a Brad was used on the tag for some added interest.

12_07_dsc08137_copy

ABOVE:  simple 3x3 card - could be used for a to:/from: tag or added to a gift bag or used as a cello topper.  Flowers and greeting stamped in Purely Pomegranate on paper from the Holiday Harmony pack.

Christmas Stamp A Stack Class

Outter_space_2 I think these little graphics are a hoot.. many of you have asked how I make them... go to www.imagechef.com and you can use their images and add your text, then save the .jpg to your computer!  Too fun!

So, anyway, back to stamping... I have a Christmas Card Stamp A Stack class this weekend, which I've been slowly prepping for... you see the physical therapist said I need to cut out the computer, stamping and gardening completely in order to help let my pinched nerve heal.  I have arthritis in my neck, which is pinching the nerve and making my arm and hand painful and tingly/numb.  Cutting out the computer and stamping? Not very conducive to someone who makes their living RUBBER STAMPING!??  YIKES!

But I'm limiting myself to little 20 minute spots of the computer or stamping each day... cuz goodness knows I can't cut it out 100%!!

Here is a sneak peek at a watercolor card we'll be doing in my Christmas Stamp A Stack this weekend.  The ink is Purely Pomegranate and the cardstock is watercolor paper, brushed gold, Purely Pomegranate and a vanilla base card.  I added the BUILD A BRAD for a bit of fun!

Dsc08039_copy

Blog posts will be a little sparse for awhile... I'll get on the computer when I can.

Happy Stampin' everyone!

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Marquee_class_samp282cb4cfe4c82381

Yep.. I'm back to stamping!! The house is 95% settled and back in place, so now it's back to stampin'!  Sorry for that minor GLITCH in my sharing over the past 3 or 4 weeks!

Here is a fun and easy Gift Card Holder we are doing in class tonight!  I got the idea from my upline, Sandy.  Her version is below (in red).

Dsc07982 Dsc07983

Here is a close up of the center that holds the gift card:

Dsc07984_2 And here is how you make it:

  • Cut cardstock to 4-1/4"x11"
  • Score at 3", 5-1/2" and 8"
  • Fold in 1/2 and then fold the outside flaps backwards in toward the center.

Dsc07978 Apply Sticky strip as shown, and then use the 1/2" circle punch and the Word Window Punch to create the slit and notch for the gift card to fit into.

Tip:  stamp before folding it and assembling it.

Dsc07980

Here is the one I received from Sandy.. very cute!:

More sharing later.. class starts in 20 minutes!
