GLITTER!! Oh My!

OK.. I THOUGHT I could do it... I've been getting up the "courage" to work with the Sticky Letters and Glitter ever since SHANNON gave me grief at the Oakland Regional for not using them in my stamping life (I am so NOT a Glitter Queen) ... last night I thought my friend Sharon had talked me into using the sticky letters and glitter for my meeting swap cards this Saturday... I sat down with GOOD INTENTIONS to make swaps using glitter... here is what I came up with:

Glitter_h

While I love the card, I'm also SUCH A WHIMP when it comes to GLITTER.. I just cannot deal with it.. and I will be on the floor under my stamp desk in a curled up ball if I have to make 40+ cards with glitter... so... unless someone wants to come over and MAKE these FOR ME today, I'm coming up with a different design for my swaps WITHOUT glitter!!  LOL

I know, I know.. what a whimp.. oh well!

SUPPLIES: Colors: Eggplant Envy and Always Artichoke.  Gitter and sticky letters from pg 186 of the catalog. White rub-ons from the Occasions mini. Stamps from Boho Backgrounds, pg 109.  Punches: Scallop circle and Boho Blossoms punch.  All supplies Stampin' Up!

More with Carousel Notes & Classy Brass

My "Pick a Petal" Classy Brass template (pg 187) arrived yesterday so I HAD to play with it today!  The outside of it coordinates with the Carousel notes!  Hmm.. wonder what else Stampin' Up! has been keeping from us!  LOL

Here are the tools I used:

Paper Piercing tool and mat, brass template, Carousel Notes and 1/8" handheld punch.

Dsc09611

TIP: I found that to speed things up, you can pierce and/or punch through TWO Carousel notes at once!  yahoo!  I used some Scotch Magic tape (clear tape) to hold the template and 2 notes together while punching/piercing.  And yes, the 1/8" handheld punch does go through the holes in the template.. you don't have to mark them and then punch.

Dsc09613

I added some holes to the scallops on my Carousel Note Card Purse.. tooooo cute!

Dsc09614

And here is a quick Thank You card I made with the Afternoon Tea DSP, Carousel Notes and some SAB Rub-Ons:

Another TIP: I learned about sponging over the rub-ons from my ROCKIN' friend Dawn's tutorial HERE

Have fun stampin' today!

Carousel Note cards - Oh My Gosh - Too Fun!

I think I'm just having TOO much fun with all my "new toys".. from the Occasions Mini catalog!!  My friend Aimee inspired me to get out my Carousel notes and start playing!! I'm so glad she did!  I am LOVING these notes!!

I've combined them with Sale-A-Bration Rub-ons and "Lucky Star" Accents and Elements Tin die cuts!  (oh, and stamps too!).  As noted in one of the photos, I used the chipboard circle piece (from the Ginormous Pieces pack) as a template for my dashed lines on a couple of the Carousel notes.

The large Chocolate Chip envelopes are just TOO fun!!  I hope you enjoy these.. let me know what you think!

The brown rub-ons look a little "off" in the photos.. but they look great in person! (above and below)

Occasions Mini Preview + SAB samples

Wow... what fun I had this morning!!  I was inspired by Beate's cute little box HERE and I just kind of got ON A ROLL making scallop punch embellishments, and using the new "A Perfect Day" Rub-ons from the Stampin' Up! Occasions mini catalog (demonstrators got to Pre-Order this month!) {yahoo}!!  Let's see.. I also used the new Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware - OH MY GOSH - the stuff in this hardware kit is toooooooooo cool!!  A couple cards feature the new Chocolate Chip Poly-Twill ribbon, and of course, one of my FAVE accessories... Build-A-Brad.

My CHALLENGE to myself was to stamp a ton of embellishments featuring the Scallop Circle punch, and have them ready to plop on a card .. it was quite fun!

Enjoy!

I'm lovin' the new Spring Break Paper!!

Oh wow... I am LOVING this new Spring Break paper!  whoohoo!  Here's what I've been playing with:

Dsc08841_copy

It's a side fold, 4-1/4" sq card with the new striped ribbon and a rub-on greeting!

Dsc08839_copy

Advisory_sampef430e5fbcb68ad5 And another card using the Spring Break Paper... this was fun.. I used the Pig Nose Punch (aka Double Circle Punch) to add accents... rather than use brads, I just let the Not Quite Navy paper show through!! OK, well maybe it's not a HOT HOT HOT tip, but I thought it was fun!

Embrace Life!

Here are a few more projects I came up with using my new goodies from Stampin' Up! ... do you think this one is too crazy?  I kind of kept adding stuff to it......... the strip between the Ginger Blossom paper and the Olive card is from the Messenger Accents & Elements tin:

Dsc08758_copy

and this one isn't quite so crazy.. but I did combine patterned paper from 2 different packs and stamps from 2 different sets... amazing what happens when there is a lot of stuff on your desk!

Dsc08759_copy

I'm not sure about these 2 now that I'm looking at them again... but then again, I think I like them.. I guess the jury is still out.

Havin' fun with my new stuff!

I got my order(s) {grin} of goodies from the new Stampin' Up! catalog this week, so I put a BUNCH of stuff on my stamping table and started to PLAY!  I also got out 2 of my Simply Sent kits and used up the materials in those, so it was fun to combine "old and new"....  I hope you enjoy some of the ideas I came up with.. more to follow later...

Dsc08765_copy

I LOOOOOOOOOVE playing with the new rub-ons!! (these are from the Sale a Bration catalog.. I'm gonna seriously need multiple packs of this one!)

Fun playing with the Flower Fusion felt flowers and layering them with punches and brads!

Dsc08771_copy

Although the suggested coordinating colors for Bali Breeze are officially:    Old Olive, Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, I acutally used Tempting Turquoise and Only Orange.  Guess I cheated a little bit!  LOL

More tomorrow...   until then.. have a great day!

Boho Backgrounds & One of a Kind

From what I've been hearing, it sounds like Boho Backgrounds and One of a Kind are just about the 2 most popular new sets in the new Stampin' Up! catalog!  They were the first 2 I mounted this week and then I began to play!  They are really versatile, and GREAT together!

Dsc08631_copy_2

I had fun adding the new Flower Fusion felt flowers as accents:

Dsc08651_copy

and also embellishing with the new Boho Blossoms punch:
Dsc08633 Sneak_peek_2_2

These cards were done on 3x6 Close to Cocoa cards with the Berry Bliss designer paper.

Dsc08657_copy

Here is what the Flower Fusion tin looks like when you open it:

Dsc08643_copy

Now, on to the Pocket Card with Apricot Appeal and Real Red, plus the new Red Striped ribbon and Build-A-Brad accent.   I also added a couple accents with some of the rub-ons.  Enjoy!

Fun New Scallops - FABULOUS TIP!

FIRST OF ALL... I CANNOT TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS IDEA... READY?? Here we go..

We are going to make SCALLOPS the EAAAAAAAAAASY Way!!

(see the row of green scallops?)

OK... so now... RUN, don't walk to your stamp room and try this!!  It's too fun!!

If you've clicked on MJ's blog you'll notice she cut the jumbo circle with Paper Snips rather than punch it.. either way works.. try both and see which you prefer.
