DSC02104 If you are looking for my Simply Scrappin' Kit Presentation information, as mentioned on the Stampin' Up! Workshop Wow DVD, CLICK HERE, and HERE.

This DVD was available at Convention in Memento Mall and features 18 demonstrators presenting a "Workshop Wow" idea at a Regional Seminar over the past year or so. I believe it will be available to all demonstrators on a Supply Order Form, and I am going to suggest that it be made available to customers as well!

I got a free copy since I'm on it.. too cool, huh? :)

Special Delivery Baby Book

My friend Tai had a baby girl 2 weeks ago and I made this little scrapbook for her using the Stampin' Up! "Special Delivery - Girl" Simply Scrappin' kit (pg 173).  I used the On Board Book Basic chipboard pieces (pg 179) for the front and back cover.  It's similar to THIS BOOK I made for my husband, but I used the cardstock pieces in the Simply Scrappin' kit for the pages of this baby book instead of making all the pages out of the chipboard.

Here are a few of the inside pages from the book:

Congratulation, Tai and Martin!  Your little girl is adorable!

Thanks to my stampin' friend Erin for inpiring me to do this - see her great baby girl project HERE.

Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

Anniversary book   Yesterday my hubby and I celebrated 22 years of marriage!  I made him a book using the Stampin' Up! On Board Book Basics small chipboard pages (pg 179).  I covered them with a variety of Desgner Papers and Simply Scrappin' Kit pieces.  Of course I used my Bind It All to bind the pages together (my favorite "toy").  Enjoy the trip down memory lane...

LOVE these colors!!  Everyone who made this in class this week really enjoyed it, not only how easily it goes together but decorating it with the Simply Scrappin' Kit is tooooo fun!

Here are some dimensions for you:

Paper Bag Book cutting dimensions

By Patty Bennett ~ www.PattyStamps.com

Paper Bags used:  6-1/8” x 4” x 12-3/8”  “Giant Size AJM” bags from Smart & Final (50 pk)

Cut the bottoms off of 4 bags as follows:

                   1 bag cut at 4-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 5-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 6-1/2”

                   1 bag cut at 7-1/2”

Cutting Directions: Using your Simply Scrappin’ Kit, follow these cutting directions to make a decorated Paper Bag Book:

1.        take 3 of the solid color cardstock sheets from your pack

2.       cut each sheet in ½ (so they are 6”x12”)

·        cut one color at 5” (yield: 5”x6”)

·        cut a 2nd color at 6” (yield: 6”x6”)

·        cut a 3rd color at 7” (yield: 7”x6”)

a.       this creates 3 “pages” for in between the paper bags

3.       using 3 of your remaining 6x12 sheets, trim them down to 5-3/4”x12”

·        cut one color at 4” (use the remaining 7”x5-3/4” piece)

·        cut a 2nd color at 5”

·        cut a 3rd color at 6”

a.       this creates 4 pieces for inside each paper bag (you may have to trim them again slightly if they stick out of the bag too far)

Assembly – top to bottom:
          4-1/2” bag

          5x6 cardstock page

          5-1/2” bag

          6x6 cardstock page

          6-1/2” bag

          7x6 cardstock page

          7-1/2” bag

Staple them together, and cover staples with a cardstock or patterned paper strip using STICKY STRIP.

Decorate your paper bag books with the patterned paper in the SS kit and the self adhesive die cuts.  Use the “tabs” in the die cuts for your paper bag book inserts or use the Round Tag Punch for tabs.

I originally saw the instructions on Melissa Rawlin's blog HERE.  I know several demonstrators have done this project, but I wanted to give Melissa credit for her great step by step directions!

Here is what a few of the demonstrators in my group came up with as they played with the supplies at the table (Summer Days SS kit, Die Cut Blooms, White Gel Pen, Striped Ribbon and White Taffeta Ribbon):

All of the patterned paper and cardstock comes from my FAVORITE Simply Scrappin' Kit:  Summer Days.  I stamped the "lines" stamp from Live Your Dream and made journaling boxes for Day 1 to Day 7 on each page..  a fun mini-journal to keep track of the highlights of the criuse!!

Bamboo Skewer Spine book with photos of my Mom

In January, we made these Bamboo Skewer Spine books in class.  I knew I wanted to use one of them to make a book with photos of my mom as a young girl.  Do you remember THIS MESS I had to sort through??  Old family photos and memorabilia?? Well.. I thought even though it was now nicely sorted, it wasn't doing much good in boxes, so I went through 2 boxes and color copied several dozen photos to put into a book.  I made one for my brother, too.  It's really nice to remember my mom this way.. it will be a comfort to me to look at whenever I need a "lift".  This book covers photos from her birth (1929) to her wedding day (1955).  Enjoy!

All 12 Months of my Coaster Calendar

Many of you have asked to see all 12 months of my Coaster Calendar class.  Details can be found HERE and Bind It All info can be found HERE.  I got the calendars at www.vippies.com   We will replace the 2008 pages with 2009 next year.

You'll notice many of the months use retired SU! DSP ......... if you could see the HUGE STACK of retired paper I have, you'd know why I opted to use it.. not only because it was the perfect pattern for that month, but because I think my 2nd floor is going to collapse if I keep piling packs of DSP up there!  LOL

ADDED ON 2-22-08:  I was asked how many coasters were used and what size coils did I use.. here is the info:

The entire calendar is 6 coasters.. the months are "back to back".  You can see it better here:
Instructions I found on line (after 1.5 hours of searching) said to measure the thickness of your finished project, and add 1/8" to 1/4" of an inch and that is the size of your coils.  So... we actually used both 5/8" and 3/4" coils in class (one size was black, one size was silver), and both worked fine.. it was a matter of which color each person wanted.
So for ordering coils or having them on hand, you really need quite a variety, since you don't always know what the thickness of your final project will be until you are done (wow, that was profound, huh?) : )

Info from my Stampin' Up! Regional presentation

NOTE - Sunday AM:  I have added a couple photos to this post since yesterday.. please see below.

My quick 5 minute "Workshop Wow" presentation today at the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar included info on how to cut your 12x12 cardstock to make at least 36 cards from a Simply Scrappin' Kit!

Tie_the_knot_copy

Using the 9 pieces of textured cardstock, and cutting them according the the figure above will yield 36 4x4 cards, and you still have 6 sheets of patterned cardstock in the kit to use!  Use the little 4x4 piece to punch out embellishments for your cards.

I added these supplies to embellish the cards:

Dsc09129_copy

And came up with several different card designs.. here are some of them.. enjoy!
