Fifth Avenue Floral - part 1

  ScreenHunter_07 Feb. 28 21.01  DSC05825 copy

I REALLY love this new set called Fifth Avenue Floral (item #113734).  I got my color inspiration for these projects from my new Stampin' Up! Umbrella, and I stamped some full sheets of Whisper White cardstock with Fifth Avenue Floral in Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Going Gray.

DSC05823 copy

I cut my full sheets in 1/4ths and used my Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel in Baja Breeze and my new Eyelet Border punch with some Parisian Breeze polkadot DSP.. then just started putting things together... I had fun coming up with 8 different cards!

Here are a couple of the cards I made.. more cards in a couple days..

10 Cards in an Hour! You are gonna want the Pennant Die! :)

Wow... this was so quick and FUN!!  I saw this idea on Marie's blog and HAD to try this right away!  What a TERRIFIC way to use the Pennant Bigz die from Stampin' Up! with the Big Shot die cutting machine! :)  yahooo!!!  Thanks, Maria!!!

Pennant die cards

Did you look at her blog yet?  Isn't this the coolest thing?  Take 2 small pennant dies and criss cross them on the front of the card!!  Wahoo! I'm lovin' this idea! And 10 cards in an hour.. you can't beat that!

Pennant die card 2

Oh ya, and I love Bella Rose DSP, too... but, then.. you knew that! :)  The pennant triangles are all cut from Bella Rose.

The 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cards are all Riding Hood Red, and the insert postcards are Pink Pirouette.

Flower Fancy

I mailed out a swap for my "Control Freak Swap Group" last week, and I had some left over pieces from making the cards, so I used some of them to make this card (this is NOT my swap):

Flower fancy

Supplies:

  • Set: Flower Fancy (111578) pg 104, and Best Yet (111604) pg 18
  • Ink: So Saffron (105213) pg 165, Riding Hood Red (111836) pg 162, Kiwi Kiss (111835) pg 162, Basic Black (101179) pg 163
  • Carkstock: Chocolate Chip (102128) pg 164, Riding Hood Red (111348) pg 162, Whisper White (100730) pg 163
  • Misc: Bella Rose DSP (112041) pg 168, Scallop Circle Punch (109043) pg 189, Birds & Blooms die (scallop die) (113485) Holiday Mini pg 28, 1-1/4" circle punch (104403) pg 188, Button Bouquet (112092) pg 187, and the fabulously yummy 1" double-stitched Chocolate Chip ribbon (111849) pg 186

I love how the die cut scallop barely peeks out of the circle punch!  CUTE!

OK, back to getting ready to leave for the Founder's Circle trip and the Advisory Board retreat this week!

Popsicle Card

What a fun card for any occasion this summer!!  I got this idea from my upline, Sandy Hancock.

You could make this in any fun, summery color.. how about a lime popsicle?  Or a chocolate fudge bar!?  :)  yum!

Popcicle card

Popcicle card open

The "how to's":

Only Orange cardstock: cut to 4"x5" and score in 1/2.  Use the corner rounder on 3 corners and the Scallop punch on the upper right corner.

Whisper White cardstock: cut to 2-1/4" x 3-3/4". Use same corner rounding/punching as above.

Popcicle card scallop

To insert the popsicle stick, punch 2 holes with the Horizontal Slot punch:

Stamp the white piece first, then put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the white piece and put it over the stick:

Fun option for the Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon.. run your YoYo Yellow marker along 1/2 of it to customize the colors:

GLITTER!! Oh My!

OK.. I THOUGHT I could do it... I've been getting up the "courage" to work with the Sticky Letters and Glitter ever since SHANNON gave me grief at the Oakland Regional for not using them in my stamping life (I am so NOT a Glitter Queen) ... last night I thought my friend Sharon had talked me into using the sticky letters and glitter for my meeting swap cards this Saturday... I sat down with GOOD INTENTIONS to make swaps using glitter... here is what I came up with:

Glitter_h

While I love the card, I'm also SUCH A WHIMP when it comes to GLITTER.. I just cannot deal with it.. and I will be on the floor under my stamp desk in a curled up ball if I have to make 40+ cards with glitter... so... unless someone wants to come over and MAKE these FOR ME today, I'm coming up with a different design for my swaps WITHOUT glitter!!  LOL

I know, I know.. what a whimp.. oh well!

SUPPLIES: Colors: Eggplant Envy and Always Artichoke.  Gitter and sticky letters from pg 186 of the catalog. White rub-ons from the Occasions mini. Stamps from Boho Backgrounds, pg 109.  Punches: Scallop circle and Boho Blossoms punch.  All supplies Stampin' Up!
