Patty's Million Dollar Achiever Highlight Video

Million dollar logo for Stampin' UP! sales

I am excited to share my Highlight Video from last December when I visited Stampin' Up! to celebrate my $1,000,000 career sales milestone!

We had the most amazing trip visiting the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT, and being spoiled with a wonderful driver picking us up and taking us everywhere, a beautiful suite at the Grand America hotel - complete with A DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE! in our suite - and wonderful meals, celebrations, tours of home office, packing orders on the pick line, and a highlight for me, stamping with Sara at Shelli's house!!

You can see some of those highlights below in the video from Stampin' UP!, and I've also included a few photos below that of our wonderful trip!

It gives me goosebumps to think I was the 9th person in the 28 year history of Stampin' UP! to achieve this sales milestone!

Watch the Stampin' Up! Highlight Video below from my million dollar trip!

if you are unable to see the video in an email feed, click here to see it on my YouTube channel.

As you can see in the video, my husband and son, Eric and Jason, were with me on this trip, and that meant so much to me!! They have been my biggest cheerleaders and supporters over my 21 year Stampin' UP! career!

Here are a few highlight photos of our beautiful suite at the Grand America, our walk around the Temple Square grounds, and our time at the home office.   Our first day there was beautiful and sunny and we walked for miles, then that night KABOOM, one of the biggest snow storms to hit Salt Lake City in years!! Everything turned into a winter wonderland!!

Usually, for a $1,000,000 sales celebration, Shelli is part of the celebration, but when I visited the home office last December, she and Sterling were serving on a mission in Hawaii for the LDS church, so I was able to catch up with Shelli and Sterling when I visited Salt Lake again in April for the OnStage convention event.  Shelli, Sterling, Sean, Sara, Cindee and I had dinner at the Red Iguana which was delightfully fun!!

Patty's Million Dollar Memories - Project Life by Stampin' UP! Video with Sara Douglass

I am sooooo excited to share my "Project Life Made Easy" Video with you today!!!!!  brought to you by Patty Bennett & Sara Douglass, crafting in Shelli Gardner's stamp room!!!

When my family and I traveled to the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT in December to celebrate my million $$ in sales achievement, one of the things I requested was that Sara and I could work on a Project Life album on "day 2" of my visit, using photos taken by the Stampin' Up! photographers on "day 1".  And of course.. they made my dreams come true!!

See how easy it is to document your memories with Project Life by Stampin' Up!, video tutorial by Patty Bennett and Sara Douglass

Seriously.. do you think we might have been having TOO much fun!?  (we did!) :)

This was an AMAZING day (ok the whole TRIP was amazing!) and I will never forget the awesome day spent with Sara (Interim CEO of Stampin' UP!) as we crafted, chatted, laughed, ate, and preserved memories in Shelli Gardner's craft room!  YES.. we were AT SHELLI'S house!! eek!! :)  I had asked Sara if we could do this at her house in her stamp room and she says, "Let's do it at my mom's house!" .... ummm OK!!! :)  Sara was the MOST gracious hostess and since Shelli could not be there, she called in with a FaceTime call!! Watch the video for all the fun we had that day!

Watch the Video below for all the details on our amazing day together and to learn all the basics you need to know to get started preserving your memories with Project Life by Stampin' UP!

(unable to view the video? see it HERE on my Youtube channel)

CLICK HERE for an update (Feb. 2016) on my Project Life crafting space!

Did you catch the 3 basic steps for getting started with your Project Life album in the video?

Here is what Sara advised:

  • Step 1: get your photos printed, sort through them to find your favorites, then put them in order for your album (this might be chronological, or might be by subject, by event, etc.)
  • Step 2:  slip your photos into the pocket pages, leaving some pockets empty for the cards (see step 3)
  • Step 3:  go through the Project Life cards and pick out the cards you want in your album, slip them into the empty pockets in your album.  Journal on some, and embellish on others.  Don't forget to embellish ON your photos as well with the accessories in the accessory pack!

We used a 6"x8" Project Life album, and of course the 6x8 pocket pages.  You also have the choice of a 12x12 album which will hold a lot more photos and cards per page than the 6x8 album.   We used the 6x8 Kraft album (shown below) with the 6x8 variety pack pocket pages, and the Memories in the Making Cards, accessory pack and stamp set, all shown below.  The overlays I refer to in the video are from the FREE Memories in the Making Sale a Bration gift pack (free with your $50 order), found on pg 8 in the Sale a Bration brochure.

The Basic Project Life by Stampin' UP! Supplies that you'll need are:

  • A Project Life 3 ring Album (click here to see them all)
  • Project Life Photo Pocket Pages for your size album (click here to see them all)
  • Project Life Cards and Accessory packs for journaling, decorating and embellishing (click here to see them all)
  • Project Life Journaling Pens for recoring your memories (click here)
  • Additional Project Life cards, accessories and stamp sets (click here to see them all)

So at a minimum, to get started, your list would look something like this... select your album size and order the correct pocket pages to go inside, then get a pack or 2 of Project Life Cards, an accessory pack and the journaling pens!

TUNE IN TOMORROW for photos of all of my Project Life Pages that we created together!

Part of this amazing experience was that after we created this Project Life album, we went back to the Stampin' Up! home office, and Dirk took me to the photography studio and we shot all of the Project Life page layouts that Sara and I created!!  Yes.. professional photos of all the layouts of this book!! They really spoiled me with my trip to the Home Office.. I am working hard to sell my next million so I can go back! :)

Project Life by Stampin' UP! made easy with Sara Douglass and Patty Bennett, documenting memories of my Million Dollar Achievers trip to Stampin' Up!

Thank you:

  • Sara, for being the hostess with the mostest and awesome teacher, crafting partner... :)
  • Merilee, for all of your help that day!
  • Ben, for your mad skills with the video camera!!
  • Jon, for the still shots!

Stamping at Stampin' UP!

On my million dollar achiever's trip to the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT, I got to be a Concept artist for a few moments...  well, kind of... they asked me to look over a short list of stamp sets and pick out a set or 2 and make a card they could put on their Occasions Catalog Pinterest Board!!  Oh.. and... I had 30 minutes to do it!! :)

I selected Picture Perfect and Timeless Textures as the 2 sets, and combined them on this card:

Stampin Up! card created with the Picture Perfect stamp set and Timeless Textures stamp set from the 2016 Occasions catalog, by Patty Bennett on her million dollar trip to the Riverton Home Office!

It was crazy trying to think of a design, grab the supplies, stamp and finish up in 30 minutes.. I felt like it could have been a stamping game show!!  Can you imagine having every product right at your fingertips and trying to decide what to use!!?  eeeks!!!

They pinned my card to their Pinterest Board!! sweet!! :)  That gave me chills!

Patty's Million Dollar Trip to Stampin' UP! - Stampin' Day with Sara Douglass

Million dollars stampin up pattystampsOh my goodness.. what a whirlwind, amazing, fantastic, fabulous 4 days in Utah!!!

We have arrived home from our Million Dollar Celebration and activities at the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT .. and our hearts and minds are so full of wonderful memories.. it was just the most amazing trip EVER!!

Celebrating Patty Bennett's Million Dollar Sales Achievement at Ruth's Criss with Sara and Sean Douglass
Jason, Eric & Patty Bennett with Sara & Sean Douglass

Stampin' UP! allows the Million Dollar sales achievers to request whatever they'd like to do and I asked to tour several departments at Stampin' UP! as well as have a stamping day with Sara - Interim CEO of Stampin' UP!.  I have watched Sara grow up over my 20 years as a Stampin' UP! demonstrator and we have become friends through the Stampin' Up! incentive trips and Founder's Circle retreats.. she is one amazing person, sweet, kind, funny, adorable and one smart cookie!! (oh and she dresses super cute, too!) :)

So.. I asked to have a stamp day with her at her house..  she quickly suggested that we stamp at her mom's house, even though her mom, Shelli, and her dad Sterling, are away serving a mission trip for their church.  I didn't hesitate one second and said SURE! I'd love to stamp at your mom's house!!

(heart pounding with excitement.. stamping WITH Sara AT Shelli's house.. are you kidding me!?) :) :) :)

Patty and Sara Project Life million dollar trip Stampin UP

I asked if we could create a Project Life album with the photos from the first day of our visit at Stampin' UP!... and of course they made it happen!!!  The amazing photographers at Stampin' UP! took tons of pix on day 1 of our trip to the home office and got them all printed for us... then together, we put them in an album the next morning as shown above!!

While we were crafting... guess who Facetimed us... Shelli!! What a treat to say hi to her and also to Sterling, all the way from Hawaii!! ;)   Thank you Shelli!  It was so fun to have you "there with us" for a few minutes, and thank you for letting us use your amazing home!

2015-12-15 10.58.17

Ben shot a video of us while we crafted, and I'll be sharing that with you after the holidays!!  (sooooo excited!!!!)

Jon was there too, taking photos of us, Merilee grabbed my phone and took photos, so we have a very well documented time together!! (thank you, thank you!)

That afternoon, Dirk (one of the amazing photographers at Stampin' UP!) showed me how they photograph all the catalog samples and we did a photo shoot of all my Project Life album pages... I'll be sharing those with you soon!

I was so excited to see exactly how easy Sara made our Project Life experience as we created our album.. it was so fun!!!  I have been hesitant to start my Project Life journey, and I don't know what I've been waiting for!! I have multiples of all of the boxes of Project Life by Stampin' Up! cards, lots of albums, and tons of (empty!!) pages to fill (and 80 billion photos).. NOW I feel totally prepared to go forth and document our lives!!

I will be sharing all the pages of our album as well as lots more photos with you over the coming weeks, but just wanted to get this post on my blog and encourage you to GET READY TO DOCUMENT YOUR LIFE with me... so grab your Project Life supplies in the online store, select some photos, and let's do this together in 2016!!

The Million Dollar Celebration .. continues!

Do you remember my exciting news back in mid-September when I reached the milestone of selling ONE MILLION DOLLARS in Stampin' Up! products?  (you can read the million dollar story here)... well, the celebration just continues!!

This week, my sweet hubby and son are traveling with me to San Diego, CA to the Stampin' Up! OnStage event!!  It's a new type of event for Stampin' Up! and I'm SO EXCITED to attend!!

Stampin' Up! will be celebrating the million dollar achievers at this event, so Eric and Jason will be there with me to celebrate too!! whohooo!!!

San diego onstage stampin up pattystamps

The convention center where OnStage will be held is on the right and our hotel is on the left, and in between is a whole lot of wonderful shoreline to walk, explore, take pix, shop, oh and EAT :)

I have about a dozen wonderful demonstrators from our Luv 2 Stamp Group who will be there with me and a few hundred of my Stampin' Up! friends are attending too! :)

On the day that I reached the million dollars in sales, I was on a bus with several dozen of my Stampin' Up! friends, on our way from Founder's Circle 2015 in St. George, UT, to Las Vegas to catch our flights home... My sweet friends were all cheering for me, taking photos, taking videos.. I kept checking my phone to see if "THE" Million Dollar order had come through... we were going through the desert so the cell signal was sketchy.. so I kept checking my phone... Connie Stewart made the cutest video of me as this all transpired.. check it out..

Thank you Connie.. it is sooooooo cute!!!  And what a fabulous memory!

I was sad that the order that put me over the million dollar mark was from a customer who selected "no contact" from her demonstrator, because I was unable to reward that person with the $150 shopping spree!!!  ... if you have ordered from me and not received a thank you and catalogs, please check your account to make sure you allow me to see your info (see this post for instructions).

You can also see more of the Million Dollar Celebration here.

Our next celebration will be a trip for my hubby, son and I to Riverton, UT in December to spend 2 days at the Stampin' UP! home office.. I am soooooooo over the moon excited about that!! :)

I'll be posting San Diego updates this week on my BUSINESS FACEBOOK PAGE HERE.. so feel free to check back and follow along on our journey!

Sara Douglass told me they would be sending flowers and making a special card for me.. she asked what my favorite DSP or stamp set was, and of course I said English Garden designer paper!!!

Look at this gorgeous envelope they created out of the English Garden designer paper.. I am sure it's sponged and spritzed to give it extra background color.. it is stunning!!! It's even sewn on a sewing machine!!!!

You know that "flowers are my thing".. I love my garden and roses.. and these are just stunning, from Olive & Cocoa in Salt Lake City!!

I thought I'd share this with you, too.  This is a wonderful article that Stampin' Up! published last week when I reached my million $$ in personal sales!

Congratulations, Patty Bennett!

posted by Stampin' UP! September 24, 2015

Patty Bennett got the official news that she crossed the one million career-to-date sales milestone while on a bus ride to the airport-heading home after the last Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle. She celebrated with about 30 of her dear Stampin' Up! friends. "The entire bus was cheering! Not only cheering, but taking videos and photos of me as I checked my phone to see if that order had been placed!" There must have been a whirlwind of emotions during that two-hour bus ride as she reflected about her 20-year ride at Stampin' Up!

She shares, "I think about all of the people who have purchased products from me, about how our catalogs and products have changed, about how many UPS deliveries that would be, about how excited I am to come to the home office for my two-day visit, and about my loyal customers, family, and friends who have shared this journey with me!" Well, Patty, as you imagine all of those UPS boxes, we hope you can see a big CONGRATULATIONS stamped across each and every one of them! We are so excited for you and this gigantic accomplishment!

There's no doubt that Patty couldn't wait to get home to California and share the moment with her sweet husband of 29 years, Eric, and their son, Jason. They have been her sounding board and support system all these years. "[They] know everything about my business and I am so blessed that they will listen to me hash out ideas and challenges. They always give me amazing advice. They are there to help me when I ask them to cut and bag up stamping supplies, put labels on catalogs, help me take loads of packages to the post office, but most of all to give me a hug with each and every accomplishment along the way! They are my biggest cheerleaders!"

Every demonstrator's journey is different and for Patty, things really started to accelerate about eight years ago when she started her blog. "I really just wanted to share what I was up to; then, when online ordering became available, I started to see some orders come along as a result of my blog posts. When I started to incorporate YouTube videos and social media my sales really started to grow. Back then, I spent many hours studying those who had a blog or did YouTube videos to try to learn tips and 'figure it all out.' It's a continual learning process and growing experience, and I look forward to creating and sharing each project on my blog! It truly feeds my soul and makes me happy to teach and inspire others through my sharing!" She admits that she has come a long way since the days of letting her fax machine redial all night to fax (yes, fax!) in her orders. Thank goodness we've come a long way together!

We always love to know what inspires our demonstrators and Patty didn't hesitate to answer: "God's handiwork in nature inspires me with color combinations, textures, and pattern ideas that I would never think of. . . I love to adapt what I see in the world around me to a stamped project! My fellow demonstrators and crafty friends inspire me all the time, as well!" She gives credit to her wonderful parents for her creative side saying, "My dad is an artist and architect, and my mom was a quilter and gardener, so art and design are in my blood." It shows in her beautifully stamped cards that she shares regularly on her blog and with her customers in person.

Patty has been blessed with the tremendous support of an amazing team leader, and says she will never forget what Sandy Hancock said to her when she called to sign up: "Praise the Lord!" Patty hadn't even been to an official workshop, but she had been stamping since the 80s, LOVED the products, and got going right away-teaching her first classes the very week her Starter Kit arrived. She not only feels the support from her team leader, but passes it on to her group, too. She shares, "I love stamping with my Luv 2 Stamp Group [team] members-that is truly my 'stamp for fun' time!" We're confident that they love stamping with her, too! How could you not?

In 20 years as a demonstrator, you're going to face some difficulties, but that hasn't stopped Patty. She shares, "all the technical stuff has been my biggest challenge, but also one of my biggest accomplishments." She's grateful for friends and family who have helped her along the way as she has learned all she can about technology and social media. "My advice is to take it one piece at a time. . .  don't try to tackle it all at once if it's also one of your challenges! (Oh, and make Google your friend.)" She also encourages new demonstrators to seek advice from those around them and to not try to do it all on your own.

Patty did not hesitate to thank everyone who helped her reach this milestone (on her blog, of course!) and celebrated with prizes for those who pushed her over the million dollar mark. She keeps on working hard and accomplishing her goals because of her love of the products and people. "I love that I can call Shelli and Sara my friends, I love that people at the home office care about me! I love to stamp!  And I could not imagine my life without the friendships I have made through my customers and my fellow demonstrators all over the world!" Well, the feeling is mutual, Patty. We absolutely love you, support you, can't wait for our celebration with you, and look forward to your next big accomplishment. Enjoy the ride!
