Top Note Die - Gasket Material card
October 20, 2008
Oh.. I WISH YOU COULD FEEL this material.. it's like LEATHER!! It's so cool...
My Luv 2 Stamp Group participated in a Big Shot approved material swap, hosted by Karen Felix, and one of the materials I volunteered to provide for the swap was "Gasket Material". We cut our materials with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Top Note Die and Karen will label and bind them for us! :)
Gasket material is available at automotive stores (I shopped at Kragen) by the roll, and like I said, it feels like leather!! I decided to stamp on it with Chocolate Chip Classic ink and the Bronc Buster stamp set (item 109529) for a really cool man-card.
What a fun resource for making guy cards!!
What a great idea. I love how you find such unique things to work with. Thanks for sharing. I can hardly wait to go get some to try.

Hey Patty,
The 1/8-inch gasket material is handy when you want to use your Big Shot and your brass stencils (or any of your Nestabilities with you Big Shot).

Oh you clever girl you!! I love to find things and "re-purpose" them. This is a fun idea - I will have to try it. Thanks for your great ideas.

So, I was telling my husband about this project and showed him the picture of the card so he could figure out why and how I would use the gasget material.(He's a car guy) He was heading out the door to the Hardware and Autoparts store, so I asked if he would check and see what they had here in our little town. He came back with a huge roll of it for me! LOL He was so proud of himself. I guess I better get busy and start making some "masculine" cards! (Be careful what you ask for...)
