The M & M's Christmas Story
November 30, 2008
I wanted to repost this post from last December... this has been a very popular idea and I thought it was worth sharing again as you get ready to make up gifts for this Christmas season. enjoy!
I decorated a ton of these tins (and I know you will ask... so I'll tell you.. they are in the "Dollar Spot" at Target) to give as little favors or Christmas gifts. I had never heard the M & M Christmas story before, but when I read it on line last week I knew I wanted to do something with it!
here is the story:
The M & M's Christmas Story
by Pam Ridenour
As you hold these candies in your hand,
and turn them, you will see...
The M becomes a W, an E, and then a 3.
They tell the Christmas story. It's one I'm sure you know.
It took place in a stable a long, long, time ago.
The E is for the East, where the star shone so bright.
The M is for the Manger, where Baby Jesus slept that night.
The 3 is for the wise men, who came bearing gifts.
W is for Worship. Hallelujah, praise His name!
So as you eat these candies,
or share them with your friends,
remember the meaning of Christmas.
It's a love story that never ends.
Have a great day!
Patty! I love those tins, great job! I've never heard that poem before - TFS!
Hugs,
Joani

I've never heard the M&M's story either. You have created, yet another, wonderful way to share it.

These are lovely little gifts. And the M&M
story is wonderful. Now, are there any
cross-borders shoppers out there still on
their Christmas mission?

The tins are terrific! I've never seen the poem and I love it! Have to "case" those if you don't mind.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love your M&M project! My hubby just retired from M&M Mars last year. He was a quality control tech and yes, part of his job was tasting :o) I can always find projects using other candies but this is the first M&M project. He'll love it! Please keep contributing to his retirement fund LOL!
Thanks, Frankie

This is great...so I went to about 5 target stores looking for the tins..none to be found out here in CO. I was in Michaels one day (well, more than one :-)) and I saw their gift card holders for $1 so I bought them..they are great to use. I put the poem on the back (printed out on 2x4 stickers) and stamped the saying from snow swirls on the back of the to/from card they have inside and put the m&m's below the plastic insert so you see them when you open the container.
Thanks for the inspiration!
