Founder's Circle 2010 Swap card - Patty Bennett
September 17, 2010
Tonight is our big swap at Founder's Circle! We were asked by Stampin' Up! to bring 135 swaps!! That's a lot of cards! :)
I made the top 1/2 of my card using MY DIGITAL STUDIO and used "real" Night Owl Designer Paper on the bottom portion (see pg 9 holiday mini catalog, item #123012), then tied it with Stampin' Up! Basic Black Satin Ribbon and layered it onto Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black Cardstock.
I've had lots of questions about the "witch hat" I made in MDS ... here is a tutorial for you .. these are the pieces I used in MDS and layered them all one on top of the next.
I stamped Spooky and punched it out with the Modern Label punch (pg 202, item #119849) and layered that onto a Scallop Oval punch out (pg 201, item #119856). I added a punched Bat to the top portion of the card too (pg 201, item #119279).
to make my Basic Black cardstock all shimmery, I sprayed it with a mixture of Frost White Shimmer paint (pg 195, item #116854) mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spritzer bottle. Pretty.. don't you think!? Order all your supplies ONLINE HERE anytime!
WOW Patty - those are absolutely GORGEOUS - I love em and that black sparkle is amazing - fabulous cards - the lucky swappers will be delighted - have lots of fun swapping them out :-)

Love the witch hat! Do you print your own MDS cards or send them to SU! to print? If you do print yourself, what printer do you use that accepts the weight of SU! cardstock? I haven't been able to find a printer that takes 80# cardstock.

Patty, These are adorable. I love the patterned paper bats and the owl's costume. I just posted a card with trick-or-treating owls dressed up like a ghost and a bat on my blog at www.paperfairykris.blogspot.com. I love the witch!!

This little witch is so cute! Question? What are the buttons on the fron t of the owl made from? I can't tell from the picture if they are brads or paper. TFS!
