Don't miss the Christmas Box Kit!

-----------------------------------

Yesterday you may have seen some of the boxes I made using the new Savor the Season MDS Hostess CD offering from Stampin' Up!

Today I am sharing 2 more of the boxes I made with that CD .. these are "non holiday" ... it's so easy to use this CD full of holiday images and turn it into something to use all year!

Lace box
All i did for this one was add the Hello Doily lace stamp digital download right over the green box pattern, and add a drop shadow.. that's it!! DONE!!!  TOO pretty, don't you think?

Lace box bottom
Below is another one... I used the blue box for this one and the ROOF GARDEN EMBELLISHMENT MDS download and turned it into a pretty spring time or Mother's day gift box... or can you imagine this for bridal shower decorations or gifts?

Step 1: create your box in MDS

1. open MDS
2. click Multiple Output options
3. select 8-1/2”x11” portrait sheet
4. select Designer Template
5. scroll down to Savor the Season Gift Box
6. keep clicking next, and name your project.. then you will see them populate on your screen on 3 project pages
I enlarged and reduced them to different sizes and I added all the little “goodies” on top of them so that they would print with the embellishments on them.

Box 2 sheet Page savor season box5

ABOVE:   all i did was add MDS images on top of the box image that comes on the CD and then I printed them with these "non-holiday" images... this really stretches the usefulness of this great product into the entire year!

Step 2: cutting and scoring

After you print it out, you will want to punch out any extra images if you added those to the page, then cut out along the perimeter of the box with your paper cutter, then use the Simply Scored Tool to add score marks 4 times for each box:

  Score box 1

Score along each of the edges that will form the box bottom - just be sure to align the edge of the printed box with any score mark/groove:

Score box 2

Cut out along all the tabs and sides that are not yet cut out... I like the Craft & Paper Scissors because of the long blades.. and no, don't gasp... i use one pair for paper and another pair for ribbon and fabric!

Step 3: Creasing, and adhesive

crease and fold along all score marks, using your bone folder:

Then add sticky strip to each tab:

Assemble, decorate and enjoy!

Thanks, Patty - your boxes are lovely! Though personally I'm not a fan of MDS, what you do continues to amaze me. Thanks for the ideas and for sharing all that you do!

Patty - I love those boxes and I'm going to place an order SOON just so I can get that new addition to MDS! Just one question - do you print your boxes onto Whisper White cardstock?
