I truly enjoyed reading each and every Christmas Cookie comment for the Blog Candy offer.. thank you all for sharing your traditions with me!!
-------------------
When our son was young, my mom started a tradition for the grandkids, and she would always buy a Happy Birthday Jesus cake for Christmas and we'd add candles, sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, blow out the candles and have cake on Christmas Eve after our church service!! Well, here is my twist on that tradition.. I saw the idea of a Cupcake Liner Wreath on Pinterest and I KNEW I had to make one.. so I did, and as I was making it I thought, wow, this could be our Happy Birthday Jesus wreath!
It's a CUPCAKE LINER WREATH!
Check your local Dollar Store for the Cupcake Liners or the "dollar spot" bins at big box stores or craft stores.. you can create this wreath for only a few dollars in supplies!
I used roughly 250 cupcake liners/pins.
Turn the cupcake liners inside out and then pinch at the center to form a little flower bud.
Attach them to the styrofoam wreath base with straight pins.
To create the banner, I printed from my Laser printer onto Stampin' Up! Designer Paper from the Color Collection Paper Stack, Brights (Real Red) #130134.
Then I stamped cupcakes and punched them out with the Create a Cupcake stamp set (wood #128520 or clear #121982) and the Cupcake Builder punch #121807.
The star punch is from the Merry Mini's punch pack (ON SALE THROUGH THE END OF TODAY, 12/9/13).
As we get ready to celebrate this very special birthday, we are reminded of God's amazing gift to us!
Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Patty, this is a wonderful idea. When my kids were small we had a Happy Birthday Jesus cake also and when the grandkids started coming along, the tradition continued, now that they are older, this would be a wonderful way to continue that tradition. Looks like I will have four of these to make next year:)

My daughter and her girls would bake a cake for Jesus and put candles on it, light them and take it out side for the wind to blow them out. Like Jesus was blowing the candles out on His cake.
