Darling Doily Creative Challenge Club Card

It's Monday again and time to play along with our Creative Challenge Club Sketch!

This is my card submission for CCC-17 as part of the Design Team for CCC.

My card submission features the Darling Doily Thinlit from page 228 of the Stampin' Up! Catalog. You can also view/purchase it in my online store here.

The background paper I used is one of the beautiful prints in the All Is Calm DSP package found on pg 22 in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog.

Did you see the row of pearls? I never know what to do with all those pearls that are adhered together in the package of pearls, so this was a great way to use them!

JOY is die cut with the Big Shot using a framelit from the Wonderful Wreath die packet, found on pg 9 of the Holiday Catalog or here in my online store.

The secret to using these thinlits and framelits is definitely the Stampin' Up! Transfer Adhesive Sheets (shown on the left in the photo below) and found on pg 204 in the catalog. Without those, this project would be, shall we say, a bit of a pain. Luckily with the Transfer Adhesive Sheets, adhering the die cut images to the project is a snap!

Peel the backing and place a piece of Adhesive sheet to your cardstock, then place that on the clear cutting plate in your Big Shot. Put a piece of Waxed Paper over the cardstock. Place the framelit on top of the waxed paper. Place a Clear Cutting plate on top of that and run it through the Big Shot with your Platform or Magnetic Plate. You will love how easily it pops out and how you can peel the other layer off the adhesive sheet and adhere JOY to your project!

Hello My Friend typewriter Note Card

Today I have another cute typewriter card for you created with the Tap Tap Tap stamp set (pg 126 annual Stampin' Up! Catalog) .. I honestly wasn't going to get this set, and then my sweet stampin' friend Lisa said it was one of her faves, so of course I had to try it! I think I love it beause it reminds me of the typewriter we had at home that my mom used and that I learned to type on back in the early 70's.

Can anyone else relate?

I have been trying to actually USE my Washi Tape.. I have dozens of rolls and really need to use it more .. so.. here we go.. a couple colors to give this fun card some zing from the Epic Day package of Washi (pg 190 in the annual catalog #131269).

Above and Below... I stamped the arrow from the What's Up? stamp set (pg 35 annual catalog, #134267 / 134270) on a variety of designer series paper scraps and then punched it out with my What's Up arrow punch (pg 222, # ). I thought it was cute to add it to the card to call attention to the Hello, Friend greeting!

These fun Crumb Cake note cards are found on pg 194 in the Stampin' Up! catalog.. I love them.. they are heavy weight and fabulous because they are pre-cut, pre-scored and come with the envelopes, too!! I added a piece of Tyepset Designer paper (pg 184) and a 4x3 Grid Project Life card (pg 188) that I punched with the Spiral Border Punch (pg 222).

Faux Printed Washi Tape

Yep, can you relate? Ok, so now I'm giving you a super fun reason to USE YOUR WASHI TAPE! Create CUSTOM "printed" Washi Tape the super easy way!!!

Here are a couple of card projects that I created really quickly with the "Faux Printed Washi Tape" I made. I put the Washi Tape on Project Life by Stampin' Up! cards, then added those to folded cards.

Baby Card with Little Moments Project Life cards (pg 189, #135299) and Happiness Is Project Life Accessory pack Washi Tape.

After putting my Hello Friend Sweet Sadie Faux Printed Washi Tape on a Project Life card, I tucked it into a Gratitude for Days pocket (pg 38 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog).

As I mentioned in the infographic above, I found that using a bolder font really works best.. you'll notice the Hello Hello Hello sample below shows up much better than the Thank you from Patty does. So that's just a tip for you. A 2nd tip.. don't leave the washi tape on the paper too long.. it will stick to the paper,.. so just place the washi tape on there WHEN you need it. :)

Wondrous Wreath Fall Leaf Note Card Video Tutorial

I really wanted to use my Wondrous Wreath stamp set (NEW in the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, pg 9) before Christmas, so I came up with a Fall Wreath version to share with you! I also have a quick video to show you how quick and easy this card is!

I stamped the background with the Hardwood woodgrain background stamp in Baked Brown Sugar ink (only available until June 2015).

The Wreath is stamped in Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze onto the Crumb Cake Note Card. See the video above for all the details.

About a month ago I saw an idea online with a beautiful drawer full of cardstock ready to stamp and use in card making, so I bought 2 each of the 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock Assortment packages from Stampin' Up! plus 2 extra packs of Whisper White, and I created my own

Paper Drawer of Happiness !!!!

Doesn't that just make you want to craft and create cards!?

The drawer divider was from IKEA .. thank you to Christina's comment below.. here is the link to the drawer organizer at IKEA. I have 2 in this drawer.

Below: on the right you can see my 1/2 sheets of all the colors and Whisper White, and then WHOHOOO... stacks of 2" wide pieces for my Scalloped Tag Topper punch and my Angled Tag Topper Punch!! How lovely is THAT!?

If you'd like to do the same thing, below are the links to the paper packs I purchased. If you don't relish the idea of cutting all that cardstock, consider taking it to FedEx Kinkos or Staples.. they can usually cut it for a very nominal fee.

I cut it in 1/2 first, then cut one of the stacks in 1/2 again for the 1/4 sheets.. hope that makes sense? I did that with 2 packs of each assortment and 2 packs of Whisper White.

Creative Challenge Club Sketch CCC15 Color Me Autumn

I don't know about you but the weeks are flying by this year! Can you believe it's almost October!?

It's Monday again and it's time for another Creative Challenge Club Sketch!

I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Big Shot die to create my leaves, and a piece of Under the Tree DSP for my background tag. You might recognize the black and white strip under the leaves, .. directions are in THIS POST.

I used the Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze papers from the Color Me Autumn DSP package (pg 41 Holiday catalog) to die cut the leaves, then sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink. Hello is stamped in Early Espresso on the Color Me Autumn paper with a stamp from Four You (pg 19 annual catalog).

The tag was created with a 2" wide strip of Under the Tree paper (pg 5 Holiday catalog) and the Angled Tag Topper Punch. Tangerine Tango twine gives a pop of color and helps balance out the strip of Back to Black paper, too.

Flower Patch Stampin' Up! note card

September 27, 2014

Just thought I'd take a break from some fall and Christmas ideas to bring you one of my favorite flower cards ... The Party Pennants Bigz die (for the Big Shot) is on sale this week through the end of the day on Monday, Sept. 29 (on the weekly deals), so I thought you might like to see a sample using this great die!

I die cut one of the pennants from the Party Pennants die with Whisper White cardstock on my Big Shot, and then stamped randomly on it with my Flower Patch stamp set (pg 156, #134207) in Crisp Cantaloupe, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Old Olive. Then I stamped a couple floewrs and punched them out with the Petite Petals punch to add over the stamped ones, and finally I stamped the large Beautiful Bunch flower in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White, 2 times, and punched them both out with the Fun Flower Punch and added it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

It was so fun to just punch a bunch of flowers and stamp a background and then start layering... it's like a pretty flower garden in the spring!

I layered the pennant onto DSP from the Sweet Taffy package and then onto a Whisper White Note Card.

Great pops of color, and great card for almost any occasion!

Creative Challenge Club Sketch CCC13 Project Life Card

Monday rolls around so quickly... doesn't it? How does that happen?

Well, that being said, Monday Means it's Creative Challenge Club Day!

For my card today, I decided to start with a Project Life by Stampin' Up! card (pg 189, #135307), then add my heart punch outs to it and stamp Thank You on it. I also added a strip of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper pack as well as 2 candy dots. The lines, arrows and little hearts were printed on the card. If you prefer to stamp it all, you can nearly recreate this design with the Project Life Point & Click stamp set on pg 27 (#135787).

Blendabilities Markers on Antique Brads!

September 13, 2014

Not only is this card beautiful because the flower is colored with Blendabilities Markers from Stampin' Up!, but... I also embellished it with some really great products, including... coloring on Antique Brads with Blendabilities!!

Don't you love it!?

This sweet little 4x4 card features a Crushed Curry Folded card with a piece of Typeset Designer paper on top, sponged with some Crushed Curry ink. I stamped the flower image from the Bloom with Hope Hostess set on a die cut from the Chalk Talk Framelit set with the Black Memento ink pad and then colored it with Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango Blendabilites markers.

The Ribbon is beautiful also.. Mossy Meadow 3/8" stitched Satin Ribbon found on pg 207 of the catalog.

So as I mentioned above, I colored on the Antique Brads with my Blendabilities markers... aren't they pretty!? It adds such a nice patina!

I Need Your Vote!

Wow, I had SO MUCH FUN stamping on this Back to Black Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I grabbed my FAVE stamp, Dotty Angles, and stamped all over a piece of Back to Black paper with the floral pattern... what do you think!?

Can you tell what I did? See all those polka dots!? Too cool, right? All those dots were stamped with the Dotty Angles polkadot stamp!!

First I stamped with Daffodil Delight, then Cajun Craze then Pumpkin PIe ink.

OK so what I need your vote on is..... what do you like better... the gold ribbon above, or, the Tangerine Tango Twine below?

Card Details: the base card is cut from the Kraft 12x12 cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and folded in 1/2, and layered with a piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock (4"x 5-1/4") and the Back to Black stamped DSP is 3-3/4" x 5".

So leave me a comment... what looks best on this card?

Gold Satin Ribbon? or Tangerine Tango Twine!?

I have one more question for you ... did you even notice these gorgeous new Satin Ribbons in the Annual Catalog!? I'm embarrased to say that it took me about 2 months to even see them!!! They are gorgeous and they tie a perfect bow or knot.. they are truly yummy!!

Gratitute Journal

I can't believe it's been almost a month since our recent Luv 2 Stamp Group gathering, but it has!! When we get together we have fun learning new stamping tips, making projects, meeting new friends, swapping cards, taking photos of new project ideas, eating lunch together and more!

One of the projects we made at our recent meeting was this little Gratitude Journal.

These great little journals are on page 200 of the annual Stampin' Up! catalog. They come in a 2-pack for only $4.95. You can also see the Kraft Grid Journals in my online store here. (#135718)

To decorate them, we used lots of fun new products.. some from the Holiday catalog and some from the annual catalog. I've got them all listed below for you! In addition to the ribbon and twine, a couple new products we used are the Autumn Wooden Elements (leaves), and these new stamp sets: Seasonally Scattered (pg 43), For All Things (pg 41), and Gratitude for Days (pg 38).

I brought lots of "gratitude" stamps for everyone to use in the inside of their journal.. they are from a few sets in the Holiday catalog. They are all listed below as well.

Wouldn't this be a great journal to make and track 30 days of blessings!? Or use all year as a Gratitude Journal or prayer journal?

So I may have taken a little liberty with the color scheme for our challenge this week, but I HAD to add a pop of red on this card.. the berries HAD to be red, and then that yummy new red ribbon on pg 15 of the Holiday Catalog is to die for... I just HAD to add it.

I wasn't really sure where I was going with this card idea, but I started by stamping the branch in Old Olive onto the Typeset Designer Paper from Stampin' Up!. I shaded it in lightly with a blender pen and then used the blender pen to also color the berries in Cherry Cobbler.

So, do you want to hear something funny?

When I saw the color combo for today's challenge.. I had to look at all my ink pads because I thought Marina Mist had retired!! LOL .. I have not used it in SO long that it had fallen right off my radar! But, it seemed the perfect color for my little birdie!

Yes, I cut the birdie out after stamping him in Marina Mist on Very Vanilla cardstock, but with the amazing Stampin' Up! Paper Snips, it's realy not a chore to fussy-cut.

So, here is how I used the 3 colors in the sketch challenge:

Old Olive: branch stamp

Marina Mist: bird stamp

Soft Suede: Card base

Don't you think this sweet tag is just the perfect touch for this card?

I punched with the new Note Tag punch and Very Vanilla cardstock, and stamped it with Old Olive ink and "holiday cheer" from the Cheerful Tags stamp set (pg 5 Holiday Catlog) and the branch stamp from An Open Heart (pg119 annual catalog).

I cut the Typeset paper piece to 3-3/4" x about 4-1/2" and layered it onto a piece of Very Vanilla, and layered that onto the folded Soft Suede folded card.

I added a strip of Washi Tape from the "All is Calm" selection (pg 22 Holiday catalog) and finished it off with some Venetian Crochet Trim (pg 206 annual catalog).
