Bloom with Hope Wedding Card
July 04, 2014
Over the weekend we attended a very special wedding! My father-in-law got remarried to a lovely lady, Jean! They both lost their spouses to Parkinson's and we are delighted that they have found each other!!
It's not often that you get to spend your own anniversary attending a wedding, and probably even less common to attend your own parents wedding on your anniversary, but Saturday was our 28th wedding anniversary and we spent it at Eric's dad's wedding! :)
When I met Jean a few weeks ago, I showed her some of the stamped cards I have been making so she could see what I do. She loved this card, so I decided to give it to them for their wedding card!
I stamped the flower from the Bloom with Hope hostess set with Memento Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored it with Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities markers then cut it out and layered it onto a Deco Label die cut stamped with the image from Everything Eleanor. Did you see how I also colored the Rhinestones with the Blendabilities markers? sweet!
After coloring the flower with the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities markers, I used the Color Lifter to create some highlights. If you haven't watched my video, you can see it here and I'll show you how to do that!
The other supplies I used on this pretty card are listed at the bottom of this post. You can click on any of the product photos to go to my online store to purchase those items.
Thought you might like to see some pix from the wedding.. it was a lovely day!
Oh and yes, if you are wondering, the minister IS wearing a camera.... that was a funny story!!
The minister who was supposed to perform the wedding was stuck in Denver and due to weather issues he could not make it to the wedding. The photographer, who had flown out from MN, happened to also be a minister, so HE performed the ceremony and took photos!! Jason and I were asked to "stand in" and take photos during the ceremony, so we did... it was a collaborative effort between Jason, Seth and myself! Seth made it a very special day for the family, and QUITE a memorable wedding!
Above: this was some of the Bennett family .. not everyone was able to attend, but this is about 85% of the family I think.
Above: Jean's family
Above: Eric and I with his dad and Jean... our 28th anniversary,.. their wedding day
Happy 28 years to my sweet hubby!
