I really wanted to try out my new 6x6 Fluttering embossing folder and I was also die cutting these pretty little butterflies and they just kind of fell together on this card!

Design Tip:

Round just one of the 4 corners on your card for a different look!

This new embossing folder is SO pretty!! You can see it on pg 174 in the new 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalog, or HERE online. It's 6x6 in size so it gives you a few more options than just card fronts!

So, you might be wondering... how did I make these polka dot colorful butterflies!?

Here is how I did it!

1.  Sponge a coordinating variety of colors onto the white polkadot "Color Me Irresistible" paper (pg 142 Stampin' Up! catalog #138439) then wipe off excess color with a kleenex or paper towel

2. Die cut butterflies using this colorful piece of custom colored paper and your Big Shot

3.  Add your pretty butterflies to your card with Stampin' Dimensionals so the wings lift up.  Then embellish with pretty metal rimmed pearls!

SEE THIS POST for more info about coloring this specialty paper.

I selected Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo for my retro color combo, sponged the Color Me Irresistible paper, then die cut the paper with Bold Butterflies Framelits.  I like to buy 2 packs of each framelit or thinlit offered by Stampin' Up! so that I can die cut twice as fast :)

The finishing touch was putting these beautiful Metal Rimmed pearls onto each butterfly (ON SALE this week!!).  This new accessory embellishment can be found on pg 161 in the Stampin' Up! catalog or HERE in my online store (#138394).  I found that it's super helpful to place the self adhesive pearls onto my project with the tip of my Paper Piercing Tool.
