Watercolored Fall Leaves with Gold Wink of Stella

Remember those GORGEOUS Fall watercolored leaves I shared with you in a video HERE?  Well, I had a small pile of leaves left over after creating 42 cards, and I made this beautiful fall card with the left over leaves!

The background polkadot paper has tiny copper dots and I think it's just such a perfect accent for this card.  It's from the Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper pack.  (find it on pg 47 of the 2016 Holiday catalog, #142017).  I layered that onto a piece of Tangerine Tango  striped paper from the Brights DSP stack #138434, og 174 in the annual catalog.  It's all layered onto a top-fold Watermelon Wonder card... it's it amazing how all those colors mix and create a beautiful fall colored palette?

To add to the gold and copper metallic accents, I tied a bow with 4 strands of Gold Baker's twine from the Trio Pack on page 16 in the Holiday catalog (#141999), and created gold speckles on the leaves with my Gold Wink of Stella pen.

Best Wishes for the Season is stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla cardstock and you'll find that greeting in the Holly Berry Happiness stamp set (#142061, pg 27 in the Holiday catalog).

I love that I can easily remove and use the framelit, and then replace the pieces onto the magnet cards without any other packaging!

As you can see above and below, I cut the Staples Poly file folders down into smaller pieces and used them for my dividers!  I cut them to 7" wide to fit the boxes perfectly.  I used my P-Touch label maker to create categories.  You are welcome to copy my suggested categories, or do what works for you!  To see how easy it is to make file folder tabs with the Envelope Punch board, WATCH THIS VIDEO.

Pop Up Card in a Box - Stampin' UP! Penguins!

My sweet Luv 2 Stamp Group knows that I love penguins, and at a recent Luv 2 Stamp Group stamp day, Shelley gave me this adorable pop up card made with the Snow Friends penguin stamp!!

She decorated the outside of the box with some Winter Wonderland paper and vellum.. so pretty!!

Thick Whisper White cardstock, the Simply Scored board and tear & tape make this project pretty easy!

Isn't this red bow just adorable on this card!? It's the sweet little bow builder punch!

Check this out.. the BEST part about these cards in a box is that they fold flat and go zipping right through the mail in a standard size medium envelope!!  I know.. gasp, right!?

Altered Hobby Lobby Christmas Home Decor

December 21, 2015

 Do you remember the cute altered mirror from Hobby Lobby that I shared with you a few days ago?  (see it here if you missed it).  I was making it for a gift exchange with my Luv 2 Stamp Group, and I decided to make the home decor piece below for our house!

While I was cutting out plenty of extra penguins and snowmen from the Snow Friends and Snow Place stamp set and matching dies for my gift exchange mirror, I added the extras to this cute sleigh from Hobby Lobby!

I attached them to the decorative piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.

It's very glittery... something I usually steer very clear from, but I just loved this, and loved the red and blue color combo, so I used Real Red and Tempting Turquoise ink for the penguin and snowmen embellishments! :)

Don't they just look like they are having a great party!?  :)  I dressed them up in their top hats and pearls.. I think it looks like they are having a great time!

This is one of the projects that I created and swapped at the Stampin' Up! San Diego OnStage event in November.  It uses a folded polka dot Tag a Bag from Stampin' Up!  The Simply Scored board from Stampin' Up! makes this project SO easy!!

 The video features other products from the Holiday catalog, and this project features the Perfect Pines tree die cuts that coordinate with the Peaceful Pines stamp set.

This double pocket project has a spot to tuck in a note, a photo, a letter, a Project Life card, or a 2nd gift card!

I die cut the trees out of the White Corrugated Paper (do you like it Cindee?), for a crisp clean contrast to the Mossy meadow plaid punched circle.  I placed the circle on a Metallic Doily.. I love those!!!

Holiday Gift Exchange

The gifts we exchange each year are to be something we make using Stampin' Up! products.  The variety of gifts every year at our annual event is always amazing! This year was no different! Thank you to the lovely ladies who participated today.. Karen, Amanda, Gina, Joy, Maria, Lorena, and Cindee!

The decorated mirror piece shown here is the gift I brought to the exchange.  I bought the mirror at Hobby Lobby and decorated it with die cut Snow Friends Snowmen and Penguins!  I thought it was soo cute!!

After folding the Kraft bag, I wrapped a 10-1/2" x 2" piece of striped Color Me Irresistible paper around the bag. I love the already embossed striped on it.. so pretty!  Then I punched a piece of the polkadot pattern Color Me Irresistible paper (brayered with Real Red) using my 2-3/8" scalloped circle punch, and a 2" circle of striped paper from the Season of Cheer paper pack and added those on the left side.  I stamped and die cut the snowman and his scarf and hat using the Snow Friends / Snow Place bundle.  The cut mug was stamped with the Cup of Cheer set in Real Red on Thick Whisper White and cut out with my Paper Snips.  Add 3 randomly placed rhinestones and you are done!

Slip in a hot cocoa packet, chocolate dipped spoon, candy cane, gift card, love note, photo... :)

Penguin Christmas Candy Goodie Bag

If you've been following me for awhile here on my PattyStamps blog, you'll know that I love penguins and that we have a fun stuffed animal penguin collection that comes out at Christmas time.  I also love to buy cute penguin ornaments, figurines, candies, etc.  You can imagine my excitement when I saw the Snow Place stamp set in the 2015 Stampin' Up! holiday catalog!!!  :) :)

Then I found these adorable penguin chocolates for only $1 a box at Big Lots!!  I just had to buy these to make cute little gifts!!

How to make the Penguin Christmas Candy Bag:

  • measure your Tag a Bag Sketched Dot Bag (pg 151 annual catalog #138316) and cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to slip inside the bag (bags may vary slightly in size, but approx. 4-1/2" x 6-1/4")
  • use a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock, folded in 1/2, and stamp the penguin (Archival black ink), top hat (Archival Black ink), greeting (Real Red), snowflakes (Pool Party) and dots (Cucumber Crush) on the front 1/2 of the cardstock
  • punch the bottom 2 corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch
  • slip candy into the bag, in front of the cardstock piece
  • slip the folded cardstock over the bag and staple
  • tie the red striped ribbon around the top, covering the staples
  • add rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes

 Red Foil Accents - so pretty on this Christmas Card!

Create a handmade Christmas Card with red foil accents, using the Stampin Up! delicate ornaments dies and red striped vellum paper background. Stamp the holly sprig using the Peaceful Wreath stamp set. Color in with Blender Pens. Card by Patty Bennett

One of the beautiful thinlit dies in the 2015 Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog is the Delicate Ornament set of 8 dies. My Christmas cards today feature 2 of the ornaments die cut in the BEAUTIFUL Red Foil Paper!

What a great pair! Right!?  Red Foil Sheets and the Ornament Thinlits!! 

But Wait.. there's more!!  :)

Then, really set this pretty card off by adding the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum behind the stamped image!! Wow!! These red foil stripes are amazing!!

I wanted to add some greenery to this card, so I stamped the holly sprig image from the Peaceful Wreath stamp set and colored it in with blender pens and Stampin' Write markers.  Adding some of the great striped ribbon was all this card needed for a finishing touch!

TIP: use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add your die cut ornaments to your card - so easy! Watch my video HERE with tips for using your Fine Tip Glue Pen.

If you want to make the card smaller, (note card size) and eliminate the striped red foil vellum background, just stamp the holly right onto a Whisper White note card and add the die cut ornament.. still so pretty but a few less layers and a little less work.

  • The beautiful Gold Foil sheet is even more gorgeous when die cut with JOY from the Wonderful Wreath framelit set!  I used my fantastic Fine Tip Glue pen to adhere the JOY die cut to my card. WATCH THE VIDEO here to see great tips for using your Fine Tip Glue Pen!
  • Red Enamel Dots from the Home for Christmas Suite in the Holiday catalog.  They are self adhesive on the back so you don't even need glue dots!  TIP: use the tip of your paper piercer to remove them from the sheet and place them onto your card or craft project!

I have a fun Video Tutorial for you today!!  See below for the Note Card Holder Video!

I saw this fun project on Di Barnes blog and wanted to give it a try.  It uses one 12x12 sheet of cardstock, you measure, score and fold and you get this adorable little folder to put whatever you want inside... photos, gift cards, note cards, tickets, Project Life cards.. you name it!

So I made this one using her instructions and the Season of Cheer 12x12 paper:

Make a Note Card Holder from one 12x12 by scoring and folding! No Cutting Required! No Glue Required! Christmas Cuties stamped image colored with Copic Markers. Stampin' UP! Season of Cheer paper is from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.

I made a tag with the Christmas Cuties stamped image that I colored with my Copic Markers.

I wanted to fill it with note cards, but it only really holds 2 note cards:

Use Stampin' UP! Season of Cheer 12x12 paper to create this Note Card holder featuring Flurry of Wishes stamp set and Snow Flurry snowflake punch!

So, you can watch the video below and see how I made the holder a little differently to hold 4 note cards with envelopes!

I decorated the note cards with some Season of Cheer paper and stamped snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set.

I wanted a holder just like this but with "thickness" to it so that it would hold a set of 4 note cards.. so, I adapted Di's instructions and instead of the score mark at 6", I scored at 5-3/4" and 6-1/4".. that gave it a 1/2" thickness!! Voila!! :)

Check out Di's blog post and download her instructions HERE and then you'll see what I mean about scoring it in 2 places instead of at 6".  I also explain it in the video above.

Isn't that little reindeer and tree too cute??  It was actually a sweet little 3x3 card from Eva Davalos and I mounted it onto my note card holder!!! :)

So now the holder easily holds 4 note cards and 4 envelopes!

I cut the "insert" to 4" x 4-1/4" and then punched the top 2 corners with the Curvy Corner Trio punch!  Other fun embellishments include Enamel Dots, glimmer paper and ribbon. I have posted all of the supplies at the bottom of this post and in the free project sheet below.

We made these at a recent Luv 2 Stamp Group stamping day and also at my workshop for Rita.  I had to explain that I didn't do a very good job.. did you see what happened?

I ended up with the back end of the reindeer!!! eeek!! So... my advice to you is... adjust the paper before you glue it down if you are trying to capture a certain part of the design!! LOL
