On our recent stamping cruise in October, one of the projects was a 6" x 8" Christmas Scrapbook.  Jenn had cut all of the supplies for us to make do142zens of scrapbook pages for our album.  We had also made a Project Life Christmas scrapbook album on this cruise, so I told Jenn I was going to take the supply packet and create cards instead of scrapbook pages.

Today I am sharing those cards with you!  I hope you enjoy the idea and see how you can turn the same basic supplies into scrapbook pages to preserve your family holiday memories, or you can create holiday greetings or Thank You cards from the same supplies! :)

I think I made between 18 and 20 cards .. below are a few of the designs created with the Candy Cane Lane designer paper from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Christmas Collage Frame, or boxes, bags and cards

 

One of the Christmas crafting projects we made on the recent stamping cruise in October was this great framed collage with 3x3 squares decorated with a variety of Stampin' UP! holiday theme paper, stamps and accessories.  Jenn Gulch designed this GREAT project for us and we framed it when we got home.

Check out this idea... you could create the same 3x3 squares and instead of putting them in a frame, you could make boxes, bags and cards out of them!

 

 

The 3x3 squares fit perfectly on the Stampin' Up! White Gift Boxes... how fun is this!?  Add one to the lid, or go ahead and put the squares on all sides!! I have both examples below for you!

Christmas Banner featuring Candy Cane Lane paper

 

It was a first for the Bennett Family.. we stayed home on Thanksgiving AND we put up our Christmas Tree and decorated for Christmas!!  It has actually been really nice enjoying the lights and festive decorations the last several days, and not feeling rushed to get it all done right before Christmas like we usually do! :)

This year I added the Stampin' UP! "Candy Cane Lane" Christmas Banner to our fireplace decor!

 

 

I made this pretty DIY Christmas banner on the recent Caribbean stamping cruise we went on in October, and I couldn't wait to hang it up in our home!!  The banner was designed by Jenn Gulch (she hosted the cruise - see more info here).  Each piece of the banner is die cut with cardstock and designer paper and the Banner Framelits!! So easy!!  If you didn't have these framelits you could cut the banners by hand, but it's really SO quick and easy with the framelits, I highly recommend having them for this project!

 

 

2016 Caribbean Stamping Cruise Banner Project

 

Basic Stampin' Up! Supplies You'll Need:

As you can see in the close up views, each "banner" piece is die cut in either Real Red or Crumb Cake cardstock in a larger size than the Candy Cane Lane designer paper banner piece.  Just layer them together with adhesive, then decorate each piece!

The decorations are so fun.. they spell out Merry Christmas, using the Large Letters framelits, and they are layered with circles of vellum or a Delicate White Doily.  Each banner piece is embellished with something fun, either stamped and punched from the super popular Cookie Cutter Bundle (gingerbread man/girl or reindeer), or the whimsical Jolly Hat builder punch!  Some images are also cut out of the Candy Cane Lane paper, like the gingerbread houses.

 

 

 To hang the banner pieces, use the Kraft Rope Trim (pg 13 Holiday catalog #141996) and mini clothespins (ON SALE in the CLEARANCE RACK for only $2.20 per pack while supplies last!)

 

 

 If you don't have space for "Merry Christmas" consider doing a smaller one with Noel, or Merry, or Snow, or Cheers.

Truly, is this just adorable or what!?  I love it!

Jolly Friends Moose Christmas Card!

Be Merry!!  That's what this fun Jolly Friends moose from Stampin' Up! is saying on this Christmas Card!!

 

 

This is another card that we made on the 2016 Stamping & Scrapping cruise!!  Jenn designed this card and I altered it just a little.. I stamped BE MERRY across the top and bottom of the card and I thought that turned out pretty cute!  The BE MERRY stamp is found in the Shake & Celebrate stamp set, HERE online or on pg 41 in the Holiday catalog.

 

 

 There is a matching punch called the Jolly Hat Builder Punch that punches out the hat, but we had to cut the moose by hand.. it wasn't very hard.. and I think he turned out adorable!!

I added some Wink of Stella glimmer to the brim of the cute Santa cap!! :)

Birthday Card Ideas from the Stamping Cruise

 

Hi! and thank you for joining me today!  I have a cute (cute cute cute!) Happy Birthday card idea to share with you today!!!  Remember that stamping cruise I just went on in October? Well, this was one of the darling cards we made during our 18 hours of crafting time!! 

 

 

This birthday card features the Stylized Birthday (single stamp) from pg 16 of the Stampin' Up! 2016/2017 annual catalog (#141828) and one of my favorites, the Writing Notes background stamp (pg 124, #1388954 / 138664).  I love any lined paper or graph paper, so this stamp is right up my alley!

 

 

When creating a card on white cardstock, you'll want to make sure you use the THICK Whisper White cardstock (#140272) so that it has nice stability. 

As you can see below, we stamped the marvelous Falling Flowers floral stamp set in Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White cardstock, then die cut all the pieces with the matching May Flowers Framelits.  At first I thought it seemed like it would be a lot of work, but it's only a couple pieces per card and it makes such a big difference to have the pieces die cut, doesn't it!??  I love it!

After stamping the flowers and leaves, we just blended the color with a Blender Pen... just "color over" the stamped image while it's still just a little wet and it just blends the colors perfectly without the need for any more ink.

 

I embellished the centers of my flowers with the gold Metallic Enamel shapes, which enhanced this nice fall color combo!

 

 

The polkadot piece of Bermuda Bay paper in the background is found in the Designer Series paper pack / Brights, #138434... there are actually 4 patterns of Bermuda Bay paper in that pack and if you look at the first photo in this blog post, you'll see I used all 4 patterns :)

 

Jenn (the crafting cruise organizer) designed 10 cards for us to make, and we made four of each, so if you do the math, that's 40 cards that we created in addition to all the other projects!!!  You can see more info here!

2016 Stamp & Scrap Cruise to the Caribbean

 

We enjoyed an amazing trip in October, cruising the Caribbean on the Liberty of the Seas with about 30 friends and fellow crafters!!  Jenn Gulch organized this amazing week-long crafting cruise and I am SO glad we went!!!  We enjoyed it so much we are already booked for the 2017 trip!! :)

Over the course of the week, we could use the crafting room anytime we wanted to, but Cindee and I went in there on the "sea days" (days we were not in port).  I think we crafted about a total of 18 hours!!!  It was heavenly!!!

I cannot even tell you how much fun it was to have all of the projects prepped and ready.  For about 25 years I have been the one prepping the project packets for events, so this was just a dream vacation with my family and friends AND crafting!!!

 

 

Many of the crafters brought family members or friends.  Below was most of our group.. I think a few are missing.

 

 

We departed from the port in Galveston, TX, a port we have never cruised out of before.  So that was fun to see something new!!  We had 2 "sea days" before arriving in Roatan, Honduras, so we crafted both of those days, then we had 3 ports in a row.. Roatan, Belize and Cozumel.   The last day, coming back was another sea day to craft and pack (packing, boo.. hate that part because it means you are going home).

There were several of us from the Luv 2 Stamp group in a row on the ship, so we opened our balcony dividers and had one HUGE balcony :)

 

I was so glad my family wanted to come with me.. it was a great week and much needed R&R for all of us!
