Patty's Project Life Album pages
January 25, 2016
This is Part 2 of my Project Life post - if you missed ALL THE FUN Sara and I had at Shelli's house creating this Project Life album SEE THIS POST and VIDEO yesterday!
As I mentioned in my blog post yesterday, after we created all the Project Life pages documenting "day 1" of my visit to the Stampin' UP! home office in Riverton, UT, celebrating my Million $$ in sales achievement, we went back to the home office and Dirk took me to the photography studio where he showed me how they shoot all the samples and product photos for the catalogs, publications, blog posts, Pinterest photos, etc!
I never knew how much time and effort go in to the photography at Stampin' Up! and it was very fun to spend time with Dirk learning all about their techniques and learning great lighting tips!
This is the Project Life by Stampin' Up! album Sara and I created on "day 2" of my visit. Watch the Video here if you missed it yesterday to see all the details.
There had been a huge snowstorm during the night, so everything was WHITE and like a Winter Wonderland!! Perfect for the Christmas theme of my visit!
You cannot imagine the feeling, walking into the beautiful, huge atrium at Stampin' Up! and seeing every employee lined up all around the balconies... my heart was SO FULL - it took my breath away!
It meant the world to me to have my husband and son with me for this trip.. they have shared every moment of my 20+ year journey with Stampin' Up! and I am blessed to have them by my side!
The Attention to Detail was amazing! I had asked that they have Pepsi and Diet Pepsi for Eric and Jason, and they had that at every stop along our way!! So sweet! And check out the darling personalized hot cocoa cups they had for everyone!
In between our visit to the Distribution Center (above) and the Demo Support Dept (below), we also had lunch with product specialists Darcy and Andrea, we met with Spencer to see sneak peeks from the upcoming catalog (!!!!), we met with the super talented Artist Kathy who will be drawing up my idea for my stamp set, we chatted with all of the Concept Artists, Eric and Jason got a sneak peek of the December Paper Pumpkin kit (see THIS POST), and I got to go stamp a card in the Concept Art Dept (see THIS POST). We ended day 1 with dinner with the corporate team - fun conversation, great food and a wonderful time!
Did you see Sara's Project Life presentation at the Brussels OnStage event last November? She showed a great tip to get MORE photos into one layout by doing a "pull-up" photo spread.. check this out.. the photos are on Project Life cards that were washi taped together, and they pull up with a tab!!! I asked her to teach me how to do that, so we did it!
Thank you again, Dirk, for the amazing experience in the photography studio and for explaining all of the amazing steps for getting the lighting just right!! Thank you for all the photos of my Project Life album!
Here is my check list for photos I still need to put in my album:
- Dinner, night 1
- our amazing hotel room at the Grand America
- Temple Square the day we arrived
- Day 2 at Shelli's with Sara
- Dinner, night 2
- My gorgeous and amazing "pillow gifts" from Stampin' UP!
I'll be sharing those pages after I get all the photos printed and slipped into more pocket pages.

This will be my 3rd year using project life and I'm finally figuring out my style and it's exciting! I'd love a step by step on the washi tape PL cards.... Is the whole thing slipped into the pocket sleeve? I still get hung up on printing pictures and making sure I end up with the right orientation for each pocket. I'd love more tips throughout the year!

I keep telling myself to give it a try. I've purchased a few items but that's as far as I've gotten. I'm looking forward to your blog posts highlighting this product. I would love to know how Sara did the washi tape multiple picture pull up spread.

Hi Patty,
The last two days I have been so excited to see you, your family and all of the people that helped you have this amazingly, well deserved honor. I have literally boxes full of photographs. I have problems finding pictures that fit in horizontally, and those that fit vertical. Perhaps there is an easy way to do this if one just knows how. I am really interested in getting my pictures in albums. I just have so many that I feel so overwhelmed that I don't even start. Thank you for sharing, Patty.
Best wishes, Karren

I would also love a tutorial on the flip up photo sleeve using the washi tape! I have TONS of PL "stuff" but just need to find the time to sit down and get some pages done!!

Yes! I am three years behind on my regular family scrapbook. I have two special books I am making. So yes, I would love to have inspiration on using Project Life.
