Quick and Easy Diagonal Slash Note Card Video Tutorial
May 02, 2016
I am excited to share a VIDEO TUTORIAL with you today so that you can easily and quickly create several hand crafted cards with either a 3-1/2" x 5" Stampin' UP! note card, or a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" standard size card, using this diagonal slash technique!
Create these great note cards with EITHER a 6x6 paper stack and Stampin' Up! Note Cards, or, a 12x12 sheet of designer paper and a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card! Let me show you how!! Watch the video below and see the diagrams below for cutting dimensions.
I created a whole stack of these cards featuring the Pretty Petals 6x6 paper stack from Stampin Up!. You can create them with any 6x6 paper using the dimensions and instructions I've shared at the bottom of this post.
Watch the Video Below for more info, or, watch it HERE on YouTube.
Once you cut your paper and add it to your note card, it's loads of fun to go through your stamps and pick out a variety of greetings to fit in the space!! I did thank you, friends, you are amazing, happy birthday, and happy blooming birthday!
I also created quick and cute card embellishments using my Stampin' UP! Pansy punch, 7/8" scalloped circle punch and the 1/2" circle punch. I had fun punching out all different patterns of Stampin' Up! paper and creating fun and colorful card embellishments!
Below: Cutting instructions for using 6x6 paper and Stampin' Up! 3-1/2" x 5" Note Cards.
As shown in the video above in this blog post, I also created these cards using 12x12 designer paper and standard size 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cards. For the cards below, I used the beautiful English Garden paper and Thick Whisper White or Blushing Bride folded cards.
Watch the video above in this blog post for more info on cutting your 12x12 paper, or use the instructions below. Create 9 cards out of each 12x12 piece of printed designer paper!!!! wow!

Thank you Patty! What a fun way to use up some retiring DSP and at the same time making enough for gifts and personal use. These are great cards.

Patty, this is pure genius! I have a ton of DSP and needed a design that was easy to mass produce for our local food pantry. Our pantry is so grateful as they send thank you's to everyone who donates the least little thing. I'm so stoked to make a bunch of these for them (I include stamps as what good are donated cards if you can't afford to mail them!)--THANK YOU!

Great tips, Patty! I have sooooo much DSP just waiting to be used, and this is a great way to do it. My SIL loves (and uses regularly) my note cards and I think she will love getting a set of these. Heading to my craft room with lots of ideas right now. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Patty! I have a bunch of thank yous to send to volunteers from a 5K race over the weekend that I organized. These volunteers really made the race run perfectly and I think they would smile getting a pretty card like this!

Another duh moment on my part - why didn't I think of doing that before? Your videos are so good and show us exactly what to do and then little variations. I have a bunch of 6x6 pads just sitting there as well as 12x12 sheets. I loved Julie Rae's card idea....maybe I can volunteer at our food pantry plus make cards for the donors. I am sure there are some other ideas like that I can work on. There are embelishments like the feathers in the Paper Pumpkin kits that I never used - maybe that can be in place of a flower. Thanks for showing us the way!

Hi Patty,
I just watched your video. The idea is just so wonderful, and it really causes a lot of cards out of a little bit of material. It is the perfect way to use extra DSP. You have such a soft, lovely voice, and the best way of teaching of anyone I have watched. Thank you for sharing your great ideas!! Have a great week ahead.
Best wishes,
Karren

Thanks for your help in finding the comments section! I love your diagonal slash cards.....they are especially pretty with the Pretty Petals DSP. This DSP is beautiful but I still like the English Garden DSP prints the best. SU has the best DSP! Congrats on your recent awards.....love following you, Bobbie Flatland, Michigan
