Stunning Black and White Floral Card
May 22, 2016
Wow.. do you need a great idea for a handmade wedding card? This is it! The Botanical Builder flower framelits from Stampin' UP! die cut all in Whisper White cardstock and layered onto a Basic Black Card!
My friend Joy saw this flower card idea on Pinterest and taught me how to make this!!
She die cut Whisper White cardstock using the Lots of Labels framelits, and embossed it with the Elegant Dots embossing folder. After adding that to the folded Basic Black card, we added lots of die cut flowers. The flowers and leaves are all die cut with the Big Shot using the Botanical Builder framelit set, shown below and available HERE online.
Did you notice that we stamped some of the leaves with Sahara Sand ink with the coordinating Botanical Blooms stamp set? That added just the perfect amount of contrast!! It's a photopolymer set, so seeing through it and stamping the leaves is really easy!
I love all the layering.. some flowers are adhered with Snail adhesive, some with Glue Dots and some with Stampin' Dimensionals.. that's a great way to get lots of depth!
For a POP of glimmer, we punched 1/8" circles of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the flower centers.. so pretty! You could also use Wink of Stella.
You could try this on a Gold card, Cherry Cobbler Card, Pink Card.. gosh.. most any color! It would be stunning no matter what!
Ours is a top folding 4-1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock so that we could tie the ribbon around the card easily.

Beautiful card! Love all the layers. I'm surprised your use Sahara Sand rather than Basic Gray with the Basic Black. Clever idea to make the card top folding for tying the ribbon easier. I agree, this card would be gorgeous in just about any color combo. Whatever the wedding party has selected for their color theme would really personalize it. TFS!
