Christmas Candy Donations

 

Guess what I did with most of my November Paper Pumpkin Christmas Stockings?

I filled them with holiday candy treats, and packaged them up for a donation!  I donated these to the bowling alley 50-50 raffle this week and I hope that the recipients are going to enjoy them!

I opened up my Paper Pumpkin Kit, got the stockings ready and went shopping for lots of fun candy treats to fill the stockings with!

I assembled the tags that came with the kit, attached them to the stockings and then put 4 stockings in each little "take out box" filled with new Stampin' UP! shreddie.

I wrapped them all up (anyone recognize the polkadot ribbon from MANY years ago? I love that ribbon!) and donated them to the raffle!

Smitten Mitten Penguins!

 

You probably know, I love penguins!  Our Christmas tree has close to 100 penguin ornaments, we have dozens of stuffed animal penguins that we put out at Christmas, and we wrap lots of our Christmas presents in penguin paper! :)   So I'm sure you can imagine that when I saw Brian King share the idea of penguins created from the Smitten Mitten bundle / Many Mittens framelits dies, I knew I had to create my own!!  This idea was shared at World Card Making day in Oct., and it's been on my to-do list ever since then!

 

The background paper of this card is found in the Christmas Around the World paper pack, and the die cut trees are from the Santa's Sleigh framelits and the Naturally Eclectic paper pack.  I mounted them onto an Island Indigo side fold card.

 

The Mittens are RETIRING!!!

I am so sad that this adorable bundle (Smitten Mittens stamp set and Many Mittens framelits) are on the retiring list this year!  If you don't have them yet, you need them NOW!

You can see the die cut pieces above to create these cute penguins!

• Cut 2 basic black mittens
• Cut 1 whisper white mitten (cut off thumb and trim down sides)
• Cut 1 additional mitten in any color for hat, and emboss with the Cable Knit embossing folder
• trim and embellish as desired
• Use the Fox Builder Punch (shown below) for the feet and nose
• Draw eyes with a Sharpie or use small round stamps

 

 

I had fun embellishing the caps with the Cable Knit embossing folder, and ribbon and tinsel trim!  I also used one of the holly/berry stitched felt embellishments, and cut off the leaves to use the 3 berries as a hat topper :)

 

I also made one penguin into a Christmas Tree ornament, or you could use it as a "to from" tag.

 

 

The penguin is mounted on a Whisper White stitched shape oval and then onto a Lots of Label die cut in Old Olive cardstock, with some patterned paper from the Christmas Around the World designer paper pack.

For the 2 bows (green and red) I die cut them from the Christmas Around the World designer paper and the matching Christmas Lamppost thinlits. 

The Merry Christmas banner is stamped using the images in the Merry Cafe stamp set, Real Red ink, and a new die coming up in the 2018 Occasions catalog.

 

 

See.. I wasn't kidding.. we definitely celebrate a penguin Christmas with our tree and gifts :)

Personalized Bone Folders in pretty Gold Striped Bags

 

It's been busy around here.. over the past few weeks, I decorated, stuffed and mailed 300+ gold striped bags with 600 die cut Christmas trees, 300 metallic doilies and 300 foil snowflakes for my Luv 2 Stamp Group, and filled them with a personalized bone folders as my Christmas gift to each of them!

 

I decided to work on the coffee table in the living room so I could enjoy the Christmas tree and all the trimmings while I worked.

I thought I had die cut enough trees, but ended up going back to the Big Shot many times to cut more trees!  600+ trees is a LOT!!  I used the tree in the Stampin' Up! Santa's Sleigh thinlit set and the Naturally Eclectic and Coffee Break packs of designer paper, mixing and matching the trees on each package.

 

 Debbie Adams of  Advanced Custom Embroidery & Graphics in NY engraved the Stampin' Up! bone folders for me.  She was terrific to work with and if you need any personalized gifts, I'd highly recommend her! 

 

 

I layered a metallic doily and a foil snowflake, gold on silver, or silver on gold, for a little extra bling behind the stamped die cut circle.

The gold striped bags are so pretty and especially festive for the holidays!  Find them on page 195 in the annual catalog or here online.

I was celebrating each little step along the way.. like 300+ stamped, die cut circles...  :)

 

 I printed a greeting through Vista Print for each bag, wishing each member of my amazing team a happy holiday and Merry Christmas!

Quick and Easy Self Closing Holiday Treat Holder

You are going to love how quick and easy these self closing treat holders are to make, and how cute they are when you use Stampin' Up! Quilted Christmas paper!!  These make the perfect neighbor gift, teacher treat, co-worker surprise or stocking stuffer for the holidays!  Just fill with your favorite candies!

 

These treats are self-closing and all you do is pinch the top to open!!

 

I loved the extra added design element of punching the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, or you can also round the top with a circle punch, circle framelit or paper snips.

 

 

 

I created all of these candy treat holders with the Quilted Christmas 6x6 paper stack designs and decorated them with the Stitched Felt embellishments and Quilted Christmas ribbon, all found on page 5 in the 2017 Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog. 

The tags are created with the Everyday Label punch (pg 12) and stamps from the Christmas Happiness set (pg 27) and the Labels to Love set (pg 45).

 

You can create cute colored stars for accents like I used on the tags by coloring the Metallic Enamel Shapes with Stampin' Blends markers or sharpie markers!

 

You only need a 4"x6" piece of paper, so they work perfectly with the 6x6 Quilted Christmas paper stack!  Grab your Simply Scored board and follow the video instructions linked below!

Using Stampin' Blends Markers on Hearts Come Home die cuts

 I was thrilled to see how nicely the Stampin' Blends markers color on Stampin' Up! Whisper White cardstock, so I decided to just color an entire village for this Christmas card using the Hometown Greetings Stampin' UP! edgelit dies!

 

I die cut houses from the Hometown Greetings edgelit dies / Hearts Come Home bundle, and colored them with my Stampin' Blends markers.  I layered them onto a folded Thick Whisper White card base, measuring 8-1/2" x 4" (when folded).  The key to layering the strips of houses is to use LOTS of Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals to give it a really dimensional look!

On the right side of the card I also added a couple of die cut trees from the Card Front Builder thinlit die set.

Season Like Christmas Luv 2 Stamp Group cards

 I love this Christmas Tree stamp set on page 9 in the Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog, called Season Like Christmas.  It's a "4 step stamp set" as you'll see below in my photos today!  I created these cards to mail to the top sellers for October in my Luv 2 Stamp group of demonstrators.

 

I started by stamping the most detailed image of the tree (left) with Pear Pizzazz, then added the other tree image with Lemon Lime Twist ink, then stamped the tree trunk in Early Espresso ink, and the berries in Real Red.  I added the little ground stamp image in Soft Sky just for a little bit of grounding for the tree.

 

REMINDER: always stamp with your Stampin' Pierce mat below your cardstock when using Photopolymer stamps.

 Sneak Peek from the 2018 Occasions catalog!  Tutti-Fruitti Adhesive-Backed sequins!

I added them as "ornaments" on my trees!!  TIP:  use the tip of the paper piercer to pick them up off the sheet and place them onto the stamped tree image.

 

 

I stamped the tree on a 2" wide piece of Whisper White cardstock and layered that onto a 2" wide piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch.

 

 

Oooh, another sneak peek!!  Lemon Lime Twist 3/8" Mini Striped Ribbon coming soon in the 2018 Occasions catalog!!!

 

The thinking of you at Christmas stamped greeting comes from the Season Like Christmas set as well.

The tree patterned paper in the background is from the Quilted Christmas 6x6 paper stack, and measures 4"x5-1/2" and is adhered to the Thick Whisper White card base (top fold card).

It's all tied up with the new Lemon Lime Twist ribbon mentioned above.

Stampin' UP! Quilted Christmas Squares & Video Product Review

Once you start playing with the Christmas Quilt stamp set and Quilt Builder framelit dies in the Christmas Quilt bundle it becomes really fun and it's amazing what you can create with this bundle and the Quilted Christmas 6x6 paper stack! (see the bottom of this post for links to these supplies!)

 

 

I stamped the stitched outline first in Basic Gray ink, then filled in the "pieces" with Real Red, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist ink, on Whisper White cardstock (above).

I die cut them with the outline die in the Quilt Builder framelit (below).

 

 

 

I embossed the 2-3/4" Whisper White square with the Quilt Top embossing folder, layered the die cut quilt pieces on top of it, and then layered them all onto Real Red or Lemon Lime Twist scalloped squares (from the Layering Squares framelits) and then onto 3-1/4" cardstock squares.  I added White Perfect accents to the center of some of the squares.

Holiday Lamppost Christmas Card ideas

The Christmas Lamppost from the Stampin' Up! 2017 Holiday catalog reminds me of our Dept. 56 / Dickens Village houses and accessories we used to set up every year at Christmas!  I loved creating these cards using the Lamppost thinlit die and accessorizing them with the Year of Cheer and Christmas Around the world designer paper!

 

 

Above: I added a die cut gold foil reindeer (from the Santa's Sleigh thinlit dies) to the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper snowy hills.

Below: I added a hand cut nutcracker from the Christmas Around the World paper to this version of my Christmas Lamppost card.

 

In the card above, I also die cut a tree using the Santa's Sleigh thinlits and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper, which I sponged very lightly with Emerald Envy ink and a sponge dauber for just a hint of color.

Both of my cards feature the snowflake "Year of Cheer" paper in the background, a layer of Basic Black cardstock, and some hand cut Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper for the snowy hills. 

I found that the 1/2" circle punch works perfectly for a Daffodil Delight yellow light behind the die cut lamps.  Adding some Clear Wink of Stella also makes them "shine".

 

 

Each card also features the die cut wreath and bow, using the Christmas Lamppost thinlit dies and the preprinted Christmas Around the World designer paper (all found on page 29 of the 2017 Holiday catalog, or in the product photos at the bottom of this blog post).

Easy Foil Snowflake Christmas Card idea

 If you need a pretty quick and easy, yet really pretty Christmas card idea, might I suggest this one featuring the Foil Snowflakes, Christmas Happiness & Seasonal Lantern stamp sets, and Merry Little Christmas paper, all from the 2017 Holiday Catalog (all products are featured below at the bottom of this post).

 

It's pretty easy to create:

1.  Die cut or punch a circle in your Whisper White panel.

2.  Stamp the pine bough and greeting

3.  Layer with a silver or champagne foil circle and the foil snowflake onto patterned paper and folded card.

 

 

The plaid patterned paper is found in the Merry Little Christmas paper pack, and the base card is an Old Olive folded card.

 

 I added some Old Olive Glitter Enamel dots to the card to give it just a little extra bling.

The Real Fed die cut bow is from the Pretty Pines thinlit die set, but there are also lots of other bow stamps, dies or punches you could use.

 

I colored a White Perfect Accent dot with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker and added it to the center of the bow.

Smitten Mittens and Snowflake embossing folder card

 

It may not be frosty cold here in California, but we still have occasions to wear mittens in the cool nights. :)   I thought these adorable mittens from Stampin' Up! were so cute and wanted to feature them in a fun card for you today!

 

 

I was originally inspired by a card done by Barbara Strauss Nagle, and put my own twists on it.  I stamped the background with Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock using the Marbled background stamp (pg 165 2017 Annual Stampin' Up! catalog), and then embossed it with the Winter Wonder snowflake embossing folder.

Doesn't the marbled background stamp make it look like swirling wind and snow?

The snowflakes are stamped in Pool Party ink, and the greeting (from Hearts Come Home stamp set) is stamped in Island Indigo ink.

 

 

The mittens are die cut using the Many Mittens framelit dies on pg 38 of the 2017 Holiday catalog.  I used stamp images from the Smitten Mittens stamp set - buy these together and SAVE 10% on the bundle!

I finished off the mittens with stamped and die cut images from the Smitten Mittens bundle and the blue Glitter Enamel shapes.   The mittens are "tied together" with silver trim from the Mini Tinsel Trim combo pack.

Year of Cheer Copper Reindeer Christmas Card Idea

 Need a beautiful but pretty quick and easy Holiday card to send this year?  I have an idea for you!  This reindeer card features copper foil paper and the beautiful Stampin' UP! Year of Cheer designer paper!

 

 

The Reindeer is die cut using the Santa's Sleigh framelits and the Copper Foil Paper.  It coordinates perfectly with this beautiful copper foil pattern in the Year of Cheer designer paper

It's not easy to photograph metallic images, but I hope you'll trust me that this copper reindeer and copper patterned Year of Cheer paper is gorgeous in person!!

The card base is a thick Whisper White note card - so no cutting, measuring or scoring! It's all done!

 

The Reindeer is popped using Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on a Whisper White oval Stitched Shape framelit die cut.  I added the silver metallic doily and rhinestones to give a fun "mixed metals" look.

The greeting is stamped in Real Red ink from the Season to Sparkle stamp set, and die cut with the Bunch of Banners framelits.  The Real Red die cut bow on the reindeer is from the Bouquet Bunch framelits, but I noticed that the bow in the Holly Berry Builder punch (here) would be a great and quick alternative!

Hot Cocoa Christmas Cheer Note Cards

 

This adorable Cocoa Mug Christmas card really wins the award for CLEVERNESS!!  Cindee showed me this fantastic tip about die cutting a letter C and adding it to the die cut coffee cup to make a fun cocoa mug!!  Read on to see what I mean!

 

These fun Christmas Cheer Cocoa Mug cards were 2 designs I made for customer thank you cards and for swap cards that I took to Salt Lake City for the Stampin' Up! OnStage Convention recently!!  I love them both.  The difference in the 2 cards is the Cherry Cobbler Pattern for the mug and the Soft Sky blue background paper. 

 

 

To make the cocoa mug, simply die cut a letter C from the Large Letter framelits and tuck it behind the die cut coffee cup, and voila, a fun cocoa mug!!

I added clear glittery Wink of Stella to the snowflakes and the whipped cream die cuts.  The glitter is hard to see on the cards in the photos, but it looks pretty cute in person! The whipped cream stamp is found in the Coffee Cafe stamp set.

 

 

This is how I prepare my project when I'm creating lots of customer thank yous, Luv 2 Stamp group cards, or swaps.  I get all the parts ready, organize them on my crafting desk, then start assembling.

 

 

I used 4 different Stampin' Up! designer paper packs for these cards.

"Christmas Cheer" was stamped onto a piece of Wood Textures designer paper

The cocoa mugs are die cut from 2 patterns in the Be Merry designer paper pack.

The patterned blue backgrounds are from these 2 designer papers.  One from Bundle of Love and the other from Coffee Break! 

The card base is a Stampin' Up! thick Whisper White note card.  The Soft Sky designer paper pieces are 3" x 5" and the Wood Textures paper is 2" x 3".

The coffee cup die cut is found in the Coffee Cups Framelit set, the C is from the Large Letters framelits, and the snowflake is found in the Trim your Stocking framelit set.  I added some clear Faceted Gems to about 1/2 of the cards I made.  All supplies are listed below for you shopping convenience.
