Coffee Cafe Hello Friend Card Idea
August 15, 2017
Today I'm sharing some cards I mailed to my Luv 2 Stamp Group members in recognition of their sales in June. I really enjoyed using all the different coffee patterns from the Coffee Break designer series paper pack on pg 188 of the 2017 Stampin' UP! catalog!! I also used the Coffee Cafe stamp set and Coffee Cups framelits (sold at a 10% discount in a bundle!)
My cards are embellished with layering oval scallops, stitched shape ovals, corrugated hearts, linen thread and a stamped greeting.
Check out how fun it is to use all the different patterns in the Coffee Break designer series paper pack, and "mix and match"
them on your cards!!
Above: I found this great organizer at the Container Store and it came in so useful when I was die cutting several of each shape for these cards. Otherwise I tend to just have a billion piles of die cut images all over my desk, they get mixed up, they co-mingle, etc., and this was SO much more useful!! I think it's meant to put in a drawer and organize desk supplies.. but I found it helpful to separate each component of my card!
I stamped all of the greetings on the Soft Sky blue herringbone print shown above. I stamped them in Early Espresso ink and used the Hello Friend stamp set (pg 17). I really liked the combination of the 2 fonts!
Above: I've shared this tip before, but it's worth repeating.. sponge some Soft Suede ink onto the side and bottom of the stamped coffee cup and then die cut.. it really gives a good dimensional feeling to the cups!
Above: some of the supplies I was using for these coffee cup cards... I tied Linen Thread around the cups and added the corrugated hearts with a Stampin' Dimensional. By the way.. the linen thread does not come on vintage thread spools.. I like to reroll it onto my old vintage spools... see the story HERE.
Above and Below: I am so happy that Stampin' Up! offers the 10% discount opportunity on the bundles. This Coffee Cafe bundle features the stamp set and framelit dies. I loved each one of the coffee cup cards. Thanks for the great tips. I have been busy with Halloween and Thanksgiving cards, but I hope to make some of these soon.
