Epic Celebrations birthday card idea

 One thing I hear from my stamping and crafting friends all the time is, "I'm stuck for an idea for a guy card"... so I hope that today's Epic Celebrations birthday card is a helpful idea for you!!  I have stamped the images with Dapper Denim ink onto Whisper White cardstock, die cut with the square Stitched Shape framelit, and "blended" the colors with my Blender Pen.  It's a pretty easy card!!

I cut the square of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock to 3-1/2" square and layered that onto a 3-3/4" square Whisper White square, then put that onto the Sale-a-Bration Tutti Frutti blue card base.

As I mentioned, my color combo was Dapper Denim and Lemon Lime Twist.. it's a great combo!!  I used my Blender Pen to blend the Dapper Denim ink on the stamped images.

 

Enamel Shapes are a great way to give that final touch to your card or craft project!

Easter Treat Box or Baby Shower Favor!

 I started this project thinking I was going to make Easter Candy Treat Boxes, but as I was creating them and grabbing pink and blue ink and cardstock, I thought, wow, these would make adorable Baby Shower favors or Gender Reveal party treats! What do you think?

The adorable bunny is found in the Stampin' UP! set called A Good Day.

The Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are from Stampin' Up! and assemble in 10 seconds or less. So easy to create cute little acetate box treats with these!  Find them on pg 195 of the current annual catalog, or, here online. You don't even need adhesive to assemble the boxes!

I stuffed some Sweet Soiree Shreddie in each box, then filled with Easter Candy treats.

 

 

Above: I stamped the bunny from "A Good Day" stamp set in Marina Mist Stampin' UP! ink on Whisper White and punched it with the 1-1/4" circle punch.  Then I punched a piece of Marina Mist cardstock with the 1-3/8" scallop circle punch and then layered them both onto a silver metallic doily!  The box is tied up with 3/8" Silver Metallic edge white ribbon.

Below: I stamped the bunny from "A Good Day" stamp set in Marina Mist Stampin' UP! ink on Whisper White and punched it with the 1" circle punch.  Then I punched a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock with the 1-1/4" scallop circle punch.  I stamped another image from A Good Day in Marina Mist, and punched it with the 1-3/8" scallop circle punch and layered them all together with Snail adhesive.  I layered all of those onto a Pink Pirouette banner piece die cut from the Petals and More framelits!  The box is tied up with 1/2" Powder Pink ribbon.

 

A Good Day stamp set is very versatile and so fun to layer with circle punches and scalloped circle punches!

Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry Cake birthday cards

 I recently challenged my Luv 2 Stamp Group team of Stampin' Up! demonstrators to create a project with a stamp set or product they had not used in awhile, so I grabbed the Celebrate You stamp set and created birthday cards featuring the Springtime Foils Sale-a-Bration paper for the background of my Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry cards!  I had not used this set in awhile but I love it! 

 

To create the fun backgrounds I used a Stampin' Sponge and added color to the Springtime Foil paper.  From Left to Right, I used Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo.  This amazing Springtime Foil paper is a FREE GIFT CHOICE during Sale-a-Bration 2018.. don't miss it! Find the Celebrate You stamp set on page 72 of the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! annual catalog, and the candles in the Picture Perfect Birthday set, pg 5 of the Occasions catalog.  You'll also find all of these products so you can make your own birthday cards, at the bottom of this blog post. After stamping the cake and the candles, I cut them out with my Paper Snips and added them to my cards. The Mini Stampin' Dimensionals are perfect behind the candles!

 

 

The ribbon on the above "chocolate cake" card is also a free Sale-a-Bration choice.. find it on pg 9 of your Sale-a-Bration brochure: Shimmery Ribbon 3 pack #147243.  I stamped the chocolate cake using Early Espresso ink (ya, it's a dark chocolate cake) :)

 

The vanilla cake was stamped with Daffodil Delight ink, and the ribbon is from one of my past paper pumpkin kits.

The "strawberry cake" card was created using Flirty Flamingo ink for the cake and the card base.  I stamped the candles in Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay ink to punch up the color a bit, and used Lemon Lime Twist striped ribbon on this card.

Easter Treat Cello Bag Idea

 Did you notice the adorable bunny image in the We Must Celebrate Stampin' Up! stamp set?  It's on page 39 in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and I think he's pretty cute!! (or here online).  I inked only the bunny and colored him with Stampin' Blends to make tags for my Easter Treat cello bags!

 

I filled 3x6 gusseted cello bags with various Easter Candy, then made tags for them with the bunny stamp.  I think they are so cute!

You can make these! All of these Stampin' Up! Supplies are available in my online store.. click any product photo link at the bottom of this post.  You'll need to shop for your own candy though.. and warning.. you might need to sample it before filling the bags... just sayin'. Cuz, that's what I did.

 

On the tag above, I also die cut grass with the Picnic Basket Builder framelits and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then die cut it with the Layering Ovals framelits.  To finish off the tag, I just added a hint of color with the Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends and then added some self-adhesive Tutti-Frutti sequins!  I tied up the bag with 3/8" metallic edge Berry Burst ribbon.

 

 

For the bunny tag above, I colored him with a touch of Light Crumb Cake and some Ivory Stampin' Blends and just a touch of Dark Pink Pirouette, then die cut him with the scalloped oval /Layering Ovals framelits. The middle layer is Flirty Flamingo, and  I had a polkadot oval on my desk from THIS PROJECT, so I just used it as my final layer.

The ribbon is the FREE Sale-a-Bration shimmer ribbon in Calypso Coral (yours free with a $50 order through 3/31/18).

The Cello Bags are 3"x6" with gusseted sides so you can fit quite a bit of candy in them if you want to.  They are on page 195 in the current Annual catalog, or HERE online. I'm sure it's not easy to see in the photo but I also filled the bag above with the Sweet Soiree Shreddie.

Easter Bunny Candy Treat - Stampin' UP! Lots of Love Box

Make a quick and easy Easter Treat Box with the Lots to Love box framelits!  They are so EASY to put together! Just 2 die cut pieces and 2 strips of adhesive are all you need!  I created this cute Easter / Spring Candy Box treat with the Lots to Love box framelits, Painted with Love designer paper and the cute "A Good Day" stamp set all found in the Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog.

 

Above: the treat box is die cut with the Painted with Love designer paper and it's the perfect weight for these boxes!  I put some Berry Burst Shreddie (pg 13 Occasions catalog #145562) into the box along with cute Easter Bunny candy.  I used Berry Burst 3/8" metallic edge ribbon to tie around the box!  The greeting is from the Badges & Banners set, and punched with the Duet Banner punch.

Below: I love all the fun layering possibilities using the "A Good Day" stamp set (pg 17 in the 2018 Occasions catalog) and the coordinating 1-1/8" and 1-3/8" Scallop circle punches!  I love stamping several images, punching them out and layering them, like I did on the bunny stamped scalloped circle below!

 

I stamped the bunny with Memento black ink on Whisper White cardstock so I could color it with the Calypso Coral and Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends Markers.  In addition to the scalloped circle punches, I ended up layering the bunny onto a Berry Burst scalloped circle die cut from the Layering Circle framelits.  I added it to the box with Stampin' Dimensionals.

After Die cutting the 2 pieces for the box, I die cut an oval in one of the pieces, then cut a piece of Window Sheet to fit behind the oval cut out.  This is optional but allows the recipient to see what's in the box!  I highly recommend using the Tear & Tape to adhere the 2 halves of the box together! Easy to use and holds great!

Did you notice the cute little Easter Grass I added to the box?  I used the Picnic Basket framelit set to die cut 2 layers of grass.  One is Old Olive Cardstock and the other layer is Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  The Picnic Basket framelits are available on page 6 of the current 2018 Stampin' UP! As I was typing this blog post.. I had to go in the kitchen and sneak one of my Easter Eggs from See's Candy.  This has been a fave since I was a little girl...  I figure about 1 a week for a treat shouldn't be too bad, even though I don't really eat much chocolate.

 I love this cute flower cart stamp image in the Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts stamp set!  I stamped it with Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock and colored it with a combination of Stampin' Blends markers and a couple of regular Stampin' Write markers, since I also wanted Real Red and Lemon Lime Twist and they are not available in Stampin' Blends.  (HOPING to see them in the next catalog.. wouldn't that be awesome to have MORE colors!!!)  :)

 

This totally adorable, springy stamp set called Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts is on page 34 of the 2018 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog, or HERE online for Clear Mount and HERE online for Wood Mount.  I also added the stamped bunny and greeting from the stamp set called "A Good Day", found on pg 17 in the Occasions catalog (see all products used to create this card at the bottom of this  blog post - click any product photo to shop in my online store).

 

As I was finishing up this card, I was trying to decide which ribbon I wanted to use.. the WOW, it hit me.. color some of the white metallic edge ribbon with the Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends marker!! What a great match!

 

Above: the Stampin' Blends and Stampin' Write markers I used to color this flower cart and bunny.

Above:  notice how the awning on the flower cart is raised?  I stamped the flower cart twice, then colored and cut out the awning and added it with Stampin' Dimensionals over the stamped image on the card.  I also cut out some of the extra flowers and leaves and added them to the card as well.  I colored with a Blender Pen and Lemon Lime Twist ink in between the flowers/leaves so that it wouldn't just be stark white.  The last little sweet addition to the card was to put a pearl in the center of each flower :) :)

 

The greeting from "A Good Day" stamp set is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink and punched out with the "Classic Label" punch. The Mini Stampin' Dimensionals are the perfect size for raising this punched image!

Embossing folder backgrounds - Sweet Soiree card ideas

Sometimes I forget to use my embossing folders, but I should use them more often! They add great texture and interest to handmade cards and crafts!  I decided to get out 3 of them, Garden Trellis, Simple Stripes, and Polka Dot Basics, and I embossed a piece of Berry Burst Cardstock with each of them.   Then, I added a cut out piece from the Sweet Soiree Memories & More card pack (a free Sale-a-Bration 2018 item!) and created cards with them!

  

 

Each of these card bases is created with a piece of the Sweet Soiree Designer paper, cut to 4-1/4" x 11" and folded in half (side fold card).  Since this designer paper is pretty thick, it stands up to being a card base all by itself!  Then I added the floral pieces I cut out from the Sweet Soiree Memories & More pack, and a couple elements from the Sweet Soiree embellishment kit... done!

 

 

I added a stamped birthday greeting from the Perennial Birthday stamp set on the card above.  I know the polka dot background is hard to see in the photo, but it's cute in person!

 

 

Since I was using the Sweet Soiree Embellishment kit for these cards, I decided to use the washi tape from that kit inside the cards, as well as the 1" strip I cut off from the 12x12 to make the card bases!!  I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside as well, since the paper has patterns on both sides and it would be hard to write on the inside!

After I stamped the hello greeting from the Hello Friend stamp set, I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to "shadow" the left and bottom side of each letter... that takes me back about 45 years to doing that same thing in Jr. High.. anyone else remember doing that?

Today's handmade card idea features Springtime Foils paper colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, and layered with Copper Foil paper and Soft Suede cardstock.  The pretty little stamped flower accent is from the Petal Palette stamp set and also colored with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin' Blends markers.

I created this card one day last month when I was stamping with Cindee... she designed this gorgeous card and had all the parts ready to go and I loved creating it!!  I have all the dimensions for this Fun Fold card listed in the photos below for you.

 

TIP!

Before die cutting the pretty lattice piece, adhere some Multipurpose Adhesive to your cardstock, THEN run it with the Petals & More thinlit die through the Big Shot, and then just peel off the paper backing and it's ready to stick to your project! Super easy!  It's like having a gorgeous decorative paper sticker!

TIP!

After adhering the die cut to the strip of Soft Suede cardstock, insert the end of the Soft Suede cardstock piece into the Pretty Label punch as shown and then punch the end.. look at the great scalloped end result!!  This is how it looks with a 1" wide piece of cardstock, but you can try it with other widths as well.

Stampin' Blends markers (see them all here) are an amazing way to add color to this paper, or, leave it with the Rose Gold and white images.. either way.. it's gorgeous!

As I've mentioned in my Stampin' Blends videos, I like to add yellow (Daffodil Delight) to my leaves before adding Old Olive.  I think it helps to lighten the leaves, add a little bit of "sun kissed" effect, and also helps tie in with the colors of the flowers.

Soda Pop Bottle Card Ideas

 Sponging a rainbow of color onto the Springtime Foils paper (Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration free gift reward) is a great way to change it up from elegant to tons of colorful fun!

 

I thought that the copper/rose gold dots in the Springtime Foils paper looked a lot like bubbles and were perfect for the background of these Bubble Over / Bubbles & Fizz soda pop bottle cards!

 I saw the idea for sponging a rainbow of colors behind the bottles on Pinterest by Sarah Klass, and I decided to try it on the Springtime Foil paper!  Just grab your Stampin' Sponge, and ink it up in Stampin' UP! ink and go to town coloring onto the Springtime Foils paper... a bonus is that the colors also blend which is really cool!

To make the bottles look extra glossy and wet, stamp them a 2nd time with a Versamark pad and emboss with clear embossing powder after stamping in a color!  Adding the Glitter and Clear epoxy shape drops also helps the bottles look wet and just ready to drink!  Find them on pg 33 in the 2018 Stampin' Up! ABOVE:  If you missed my previous post with info about stamping the soda bottle to make them look fizzy at the top, click here.  I also die cut a crate out of the Wood Textures designer paper and the Wood Crate Framelits (#143730). I thought it looked fun to have the bottles tucked into the crate!

 Each bottle is topped with a die cut soda pop cap and Silver Foil paper.  I added a strip of the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-a-Bration paper to the bottom of each card.  The card base is created with a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock, with about 1" cut off the bottom of the front of the card, so that the bottles peek through from the inside of the card.

I blended the watercolor pencil images with my Blender Pens. (all supplies listed at the bottom of this post.. click on any product photo to shop in my online store for your supplies)

 

ABOVE & BELOW:  I also used some Stampin' Blends in addition to the watercolor pencils to color some of the preprinted flower images in this card kit.

 Below: check out the fun envelopes that come with this kit.. all 20 envelopes have the fun black and white striped flaps inside!!

 Take a close look.. can you see the vellum leaves in the cards below? They come in this kit.. already die cut.. just add them to your cards!!!

 

After I made most of the cards per the suggested designs, I decided to use the rest of the supplies to create 3 totally different cards.. they are shown below.  I popped up the color factor, adding Berry Burst and some black and white from the Petal Passion designer paper pack!

 

 

"Love you very much" is a portion of one of the Petal Passion Memories & More cards.  I just cut it out of the card and added it to this card.  Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon adds an amazing POP of color to this card!

His and Hers Apron of Love bundle card ideas

I think my mom and my grandma would have loved these Apron of Love cards! I can vividly picture both of them opening the tall cabinet door in the kitchen (fondly called the "broom closet") and pulling out their aprons, putting them on and cooking a meal or baking cookies or a cake. (oh ya, and then there was that time the pressure cooker blew up... )  Anyway, they ALWAYS wore their aprons!!  So my "Apron of Love" bundle cards today pay tribute to those days as I fondly watched them cooking together wearing their vintage fabric aprons.

 

I decided to create a "his and hers" version of my Apron of Love card... hers for baking in the kitchen, and his for BBQ'ing on the deck.  The Apron of Love bundle features darling utensil dies so that you can create baking utensils and BBQ'ing utensils quickly and easily! I used different colors of cardstock, plus silver foil paper and wood textures paper stack paper to get a variety of utensils for my cards!  I also stamped the bowl from the Fruit Basket set to add to my "baking" theme!

ABOVE: my "hers" baking version includes fun colors and patterns from the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-a-Bration paper pack (a free gift choice with $50 purchase in my online store through 3/31/18).  The "wood" rolling pin is just the perfect finishing touch! I used a scrap from my Wood Textures paper stack to die cut that!

After stamping the bowl from the Fruit Basket set in Island Indigo ink, I just used my Blender Pen to slightly blend the ink and create shading on the sides, to help make the basket look round.

 

 BELOW:  the "his" version of the Apron of Love card is for the BBQ chef in my life!  Even though my dad and my hubby don't wear an apron when they BBQ, it's still pretty cute!  Again, I used patterns from the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-a-Bration paper, and also stamped bubble images from the Bubble Over stamp set on both cards.

 The card base for both cards is a Thick Whisper White card, 4-1/4" x 11", folded in 1/2.

Quick and Easy Blossoming Basket card with Sponge Dauber

After stamping the basket image, I simply colored the flowers with a sponge dauber and Flirty Flamingo ink, and then colored the leaves and petals with Stampin' Write markers!  Voila! easy colored image!  ((REMINDER:  Flirty Flamingo is one of the retiring In Colors.. .get it now!)

 

 

Minimal coloring is quick and easy and also creates a lovely springy feel!  I used Stampin' Write markers and a Sponge Dauber.  All supplies available at the bottom of this blog post. Click any product photo to go right to my online store!
