Petal Passion designer paper - still my Favorite

With each new Stampin' Up! Catalog I find a "new favorite" designer paper, and with the Occasions 2018 catalog, my favorite is the Petal Passion paper! It's black and white, and can be used as is for card making or other crafting projects, or colored with Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Write markers, sponges, sponge daubers, spritzers, sponge brayers, etc.!

For my card below, I used a sponge brayer with Calypso Coral ink to gradually add ink to the Petal Passion paper from the bottom up. I allowed the ink to "run out" toward the top for an ombre effect. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE for more info.

ABOVE: The Thank You greeting is found in the awesome Color Me Happy stamp set - this is an ONLINE ONLY set (not found in the current catalogs). See it HERE. The flowers are found in the Falling Flowers set. You can see my Stampin' Blends video tutorial for coloring them HERE. Both images were stamped with Memento Black ink and colored/shaded with Stampin' Blends markers.

BELOW: I've shared this idea before on my blog and in my Stampin' Blends Videos, and this is a great technique to use on this Petal Passion paper... color the "background" (between the flowers) with a light colored Stampin' Blends marker like the Light Pool Party marker, and then color the flowers. It lends such an amazing finish to the card!! (special note.. the Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends is on backorder due to the popularity of this color, but you can still order it and be on the waiting list to receive it in June when it comes back in stock).

Below: here is what the Petal Passion card looks like with the background colored in with the Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends (mentioned above) and the flowers colored in with other Stampin' Blends markers.
