First Frost stamp set from the 2018 Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog - floral cards by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

You know me, I'm drawn to all the floral stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! catalogs, so it's no wonder I wanted to play with the First Frost bundle right away!!  You'll find it on page 37 in the 2018 Holiday Catalog or HERE in my online store.  I have several tips for you below.. I started by stamping lots of flowers and leaves with 4 colors, then die cut them all at once... after that it was easy to just layer them onto my cards with lots of Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals, too!

Coloring on rubber stamps with Stampin' Write markers for my First Frost stamp set from the 2018 Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog - floral cards by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

Above: I used a few colors of Stampin' Write markers on the small flower bud stamp to create a little more dimension.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Grapefruit Grove, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green to color the rubber before stamping.

Die Cutting tip for my First Frost stamp set from the 2018 Stampin' UP! Holiday catalog - floral cards by Patty Bennett www.PattyStamps.com

Die Cutting Tip:  I share this tip with you because if you are like me, your craft room might be a tad messy at times, and sometimes I'll be die cutting and all of a sudden I cannot find 1/2 the images I die cut!! ugh! ! So several months ago I adopted this idea, and I set a small dish next to my Big Shot, and immediately put all die cuts right into the dish.  YAY!! Now I don't lose them!

Above:  I used a piece of designer paper from the Frosted Floral specialty designer paper for the background of this card.  Each piece of this 12x12 paper has a shimmery side.. SO pretty!  The base card is Thick Whisper White cardstock.  I also added some brand new Frosted Epoxy shapes to the card!! SO pretty!

Above & Below: each card features 1 or more die cut pieces from the Stitched Labels framelits, die cut in Whisper White. I love the crisp white pop on the cards!

Below:  I used a piece of designer paper from the Nature's Poem designer paper pack for the background of this card.  The Base Card is Cajun Craze, to add a bit of drama and contrast.  I also added several Artisan Pearls to this card.

Hi Patty, love your tip about placing the die cuts in a small dish. I lose lots of pieces on my messy craft room table.

Therese H

Love both cards. And love your idea of the little dish. Many times I’ve my diecuts recut them only to find them stuck to something or on the floor under the legs so I couldn’t find them
