Bella Rose Book Class

Wow.. this was an exciting project.. this was our New Year's Eve Class!!!  It took us over 4 hours, but we got the pages made and the book bound.  Our covers are still blank, but those can be decorated at home. I'm thinking of using one of the new Decor Elements stickers from Stampin' Up! for my cover!

I got this idea from my demonstrator friend, Jan McClurg.  She got it from Cathy Higgins. Thank you Cathy for allowing us to build on your idea and give it our own touches!

Info about the cover is at the end of this post.

All other supplies are from Stampin' Up!  Most pages are 8"x8".  Others are smaller or odd shapes. There are also envelopes/Carousel notes used here too, and shapes from the Big Shot dies.

This cover comes from Zutter and you bind your book pages to the plastic page, then slip the plastic page into the pocket in the back of the book.. very clever design! More info HERE. The book is bound with the Bind It All Machine and 1" coils.

2009 Stampin' Up! Create-a-Calendar

We had a great time at our Potluck/Calendar Class on Saturday!  I love getting together with stampers!!

Create a calendar We used the Create-A-Calendar (113052) from Stampin' Up! (in the Holiday Mini) and added chipboard covers to the front and back so it can stand up on a desk.  I cut the Longboard Chipboard pieces to 4"x8" to use as the covers, and we covered them using the Stampin' Up! Anywhere Gluestick and Designer paper.  The cover is embellished with Flower Fusion flowers, Button Bouquet Buttons and the stickers that came with the Create-A-Calendar pack.

Calendar cover

After stamping all the pages, we bound them with my Bind It All machine and 5/8" coils.

Here are a couple of the inside pages:

Rosy was the only one who really did something different with her cover.. isn't this totally cute!?

Birthday Book for Sharon

I am really happy with the way this little birthday book came out for my friend Sharon. I used the Big Shot Scallop die, cut off a few of the scallops to have a "flat area" to put into my Bind It All, and I decorated it with Bella Rose DSP.  I added Pink Pirouette "scallop die pages" inside.  Sharon always makes me such wonderful, fun projects, I wanted to make her something really special.  Enjoy!

EDITED TO ADD:  More info on the book...  I cut Pink Pirouette cardstock and the thin white chipboard sheets that come in the back of the packs of Stampin' Up! Designer Paper with the largest Scallop die in the Big Shot sales brochure, and for the cover I adhered the cardstock to each side of the thin cardboard.  The inner pages are just cardstock.

Have a super fabulous Sunday!

Top Notes Die Cut Book

I was SO inspired by this idea from Lisa Somerville (here), that I had to try it:  a Top Notes Die Cut book!  Simply die cut all your Top Notes with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot, crop off about 1/2" from one side (with a paper cutter), then punch and bind them with your Bind It All!

{{Edited to add:  I've had several questions about the Bind It All.. if you click HERE for one of my previous posts about the Bind It All, it will give you more info.  If you are thinking of buying one, I'd highly recommend Bonnie at www.BonniesBest.com  She is great to work with and has a great assortment of the wires as well as the machine. You can see all my Bind It All projects HERE.}}

Wow... the Big Shot and the Bind it All in one project... how heavenly! :)

Books

I also die cut the white chipboard that comes in the back of the packs of Stampin' Up! designer paper and adhered (with Snail) a piece of Designer Paper to the front and back of each piece of chipboard for the front and back covers of the books.  The inside page of the book is 2 top note DSP die cuts snailed back to back.  (Lisa used cardstock for her inside pages, this would work just as well).

Here is a look at some of the inside pages:

Have you guessed which Stampin' Up! Designer Paper this is?  It's my new favorite.. it's in the Celebrando Creatividad catalog (the Spanish version of our catalog) and the package is called Juntos.  You can view the catalog HERE, or I have a few of them if you'd like one. There are stamp sets in the Spanish version catalog that are not in the regular catalog either!  If you'd like to order a pack of Juntos (GREAT for fall projects) please let me know! It's $9.95 just like our other DSP.

ALSO.. be sure to check out Jenn's ADORABLE version of this type of book HERE! Too Cute!

And just so you can laugh along with me... (not AT me)... have you ever tried to fix a mistake and you made it worse...  maybe like THIS!!!!!!

Yuck

That's what happened to one of my books when I put it in the Bind It All and didn't do it right.. ugh.. the book was ALL DECORATED, too!  :(  So.. then I made 2 more books and decided to punch them BEFORE I did all the stamping and embellshing.. smart cookie, huh? :)

More details on this project in a day or 2 .. have a great day!

Special Delivery Baby Book

My friend Tai had a baby girl 2 weeks ago and I made this little scrapbook for her using the Stampin' Up! "Special Delivery - Girl" Simply Scrappin' kit (pg 173).  I used the On Board Book Basic chipboard pieces (pg 179) for the front and back cover.  It's similar to THIS BOOK I made for my husband, but I used the cardstock pieces in the Simply Scrappin' kit for the pages of this baby book instead of making all the pages out of the chipboard.

Open End Envelope Book idea

My super stampin' friend Sharon gave this to me quite awhile ago - what a super friend!!  I realize that the Tart & Tangy set and the Summer Picnic paper are no longer available, but you can certainly adapt this GREAT book idea to any stamp set and paper.

She used an Open End Envelope as the front and back cover for this book with Real Red cardstock pages in between, all bound with the Bind It All machine.. too cool, don't ya think?

She decorated the pages with Sticky Strip and glitter.. how quick and easy but so fun !

Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

Anniversary book   Yesterday my hubby and I celebrated 22 years of marriage!  I made him a book using the Stampin' Up! On Board Book Basics small chipboard pages (pg 179).  I covered them with a variety of Desgner Papers and Simply Scrappin' Kit pieces.  Of course I used my Bind It All to bind the pages together (my favorite "toy").  Enjoy the trip down memory lane...

One Sheet Pocket Books - TOO CUTE!

Oh my goodness... I get SO excited over each new project I embark on... and this one is no exception - these are just WAY TOO MUCH FUN to make!!!  I did all these in well under an hour!!  I used a variety of my Stampin' Up! Designer papers and embellished a few of them with die cuts, rub-ons, punched images, etc. EACH ONE ONLY USES ONE 12x12 SHEET OF DESIGNER PAPER!!  How fun is that?

12x12_dsp_book_1

Check it out.. they are like little mini versions of the Card Organizers!!  Too cute!

12x12_dsp_book_2

Here is a photo showing what you can put in the pockets.. it will hold wallet size photos, and credit card size items:

12x12_dsp_book_pockets

Of course I used my Bind It All machine to bind them.. I'm certainly getting my money's worth out of this fabulous little machine! (I used 1/2" coils, per Vicki's instructions).

They are perfect to hold gift cards, wallet size photos, tags, small notes, coupons, love notes, anything that is approx. credit card sized!!  Oh the possibilities....

Elizabeth offered the following terrific suggestions for filling your pocket book:

Awesome project!!! I think these will be a big hit with school age kids as well for halloween or valentines. Also a nice gift for a teacher also - put in movie tickets or a gift card, a note of thanks from you and one from your child along with your child's school pic in it would make a wonderful end of year teacher's gift! Thanks so much for this! I love your projects and your blog! -Elizabeth

Check out Vicki's Blog - Angel Stamper - HERE to view her fabulous tutorial on how to make these!  Thanks Vicki for your inspiration!  These are FAB !!

JB's birthday card

Right before we left on the Stampin' Up! cruise, our son celebrated his 17th birthday.  I didn't have time to share the card I made for him before we left, so I wanted to do that now.   I used our 3x3 Mini Envelopes (pg 167 in the catalog) and tucked in each flap, decorated them with paper from the Western Sky DSP pack, then bound them with my Bind It All machine.  Inside each pouch, we put a bill: a $1, $5, $10, $20 and $50.  Jason exclaimed he would have liked 6 pouches... and we said, "well then there would have been a $2 in there!" LOL  Get it?  hee hee

Bermuda Cruise Journal

My dear, sweet friend Sharon brought me a gift last week that gave me the idea to make these journals for our Stampin' Up! Cruise to Bermuda!!  (if all our travel plans go smoothly, we'll be boarding the ship tomorrow!)

This is the coolest idea... see if you can guess what these are made from.... answers below...  and THANK YOU SHARON for this awesome idea! You are the BESTEST! :)

All of the patterned paper and cardstock comes from my FAVORITE Simply Scrappin' Kit:  Summer Days.  I stamped the "lines" stamp from Live Your Dream and made journaling boxes for Day 1 to Day 7 on each page..  a fun mini-journal to keep track of the highlights of the criuse!!

Class project: 12 pocket card organizer

Everyone really enjoyed class this week - the "12 Pocket Card Organizer".  We used 6 sheets of Stampin' Up! designer Series paper to make the 12 pockets, and used the white chipboard/cardboard that comes in the DSP package for the front and back covers.  Then the fun part... we used my Bind It All to bind all the pocket pages together!   Each pocket has a month of the year on it and you can use it to track birthdays and anniversaries of family and friends.  Then you tuck cards in the pockets when you find a perfect card for that person!

I made the title on Photoshop, and everyone added it to their cover.

The calendar months can be found on splitcoast HERE.

For the pocket pages, score your 12x12 at 4" then FLIP IT and score it at 6".  Fold the 4" pocket up and then fold it in 1/2 at the 6" mark.  It is similar to this tutorial on SCS.

For more info on the BIND IT ALL, click HERE.

Thank you to Sandi L. for the idea!

These make great gifts... give the recipient a few cards to get them started! :)

EDITED TO ADD:

Thank you to Tammy for asking about the coil size.. I meant to add that information and forgot!

As you can see by this photo:

Coil_2

The coil looks HUGE on the bound 12 pocket project (left), but when you get cards in the pockets (right), you can see why you use a large coil!  We used the 1" coils, but you could even use a larger one!!
