Celebration Theme!

You have probably reached me after visiting Justin's rockin' blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit him! :)  You can visit the next blog by clicking on the icon at the bottom of this post.. hope you'll take the whole tour!

Project #1: Have you played with the Stampin' Up! Birthday Bash Washi Sheets yet?

Do you enjoy Washi Tape in your crafting projects?  Well, Washi Sheets are GIANT pieces of Washi Tape... large enough to cover a card front, to cover a box or container, large enough to die cut shapes from... VERY fun!!

Washi Sheets are on pg 11 of the 2015 Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog, and measure 6" x 12" .. and you get 8 sheets in the pack!

Celebrate-today-birthday-bash-washi-sheets-balloon-card-1

Who doesn't love to celebrate birthdays!?  Even if we don't like to celebrate our own, we love to celebrate birthdays of our family and friends.. this is a perfect card for anyone celebrating their special day!

I diecut the balloons with the Balloon Framelit Dies and the Washi Sheets to put on this Birthday Card.. hope you like the fun colors and "how to" tips below!  I stamped the little stars from the Celebrate Today set behind the "see through" washi sheet balloons!

How to make the Balloon Washi Sheet Card:

Celebrate-today-birthday-bash-washi-sheet-card-how-to

Aren't the Washi Sheets fun!?  you can see through them.. I love this look especially for the die cut balloons!!

Celebrate-today-birthday-bash-washi-sheets-balloon-card-2

The sweet little bows are also in the same Balloon Framelit collection with the balloon shape, #137362.  I drew the balloon strings with my favorite pens, the Project Life by Stampin' Up! pen.  The cute Dots are from Dotty Angles (#133658), and he fab greeting is also part of the Celebrate Today stamp set, used on the little stars/dots stamped behind the Washi Sheet balloons.

Project #2: Celebrate YOU

Maybe you aren't celebrating a birthday, but perhaps you DO want to celebrate something wonderful... well, this is the perfect stamp to use!!

Hooray-its-your-day-celebrate-card-kit-stampin-up-pattystamps

This side fold "matchbook style" card is from the Hooray It's Your Day card kit on pg 16 of the Occasions catalog, and I used the starburst stencil, the tag and striped washi tape from that kit as well!!  The # for this kit is 139166.  The Celebrate greeting stamp comes from the Fabulous Four set on pg 13 of the annual catalog (#134171 (wood) and 134174 (clear)).

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Hope you had fun CELEBRATING with us today!!

Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! projects featuring

Lots of LOVE!

You have probably reached me after visiting the amazing Connie Babbert's blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

Project #1: So Sweet Heart Note Card

Happy-heart-embossing-folder-heart-card-stampin-up

This sweet 4x4 heart note card was one of the projects that I made "live" with my Luv 2 Stamp Group of demonstrators when we met via the internet this past weekend.  The card base is Whisper White, the pink piece is Pink Pirouette embossed with the new Stampin' Up! Happy Heart embossing folder and the Big Shot. I punched a 2" circle out of the embossed piece and we stamped the "so sweet" and the hearts on the white card so that they would show through the circle opening.

I added a strip of designer paper from the Stacked with Love paper stack in the Occasions catalog and some black 1/8" tafetta ribbon to add pops of color.

A sweet little heart button from the Sweet Dreams Button package tied with Black and White Bakers Twine finishes off this sweet greeting.

Project #2 and 3: Dotty Angles Heart Cards

Dotty-angles-heart-cards-stampin-up-hello-life

My next project is something I've had in my mind for a few weeks.. I used the Stampin' Up! hearts framelits to die cut a heart in the center of two 4x4 pieces of Whisper White cardstock, then I removed the hearts and stamped one frame piece and 1 heart piece with the dots from Dotty Angles in Real Red and Calypso Coral ink.  (my current favorite happy color combo!).

As I assembled the cards, I placed the hearts back in the heart openings... one is recessed and one is raised up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Each card is stamped with the LOVE greeting from the Hello Life stamp set (pg 6 Occasions catalog) in Real Red ink.

Dotty-angles-heart-cards-stampin-up-hello-life-love

Dotty-angles-heart-cards-stampin-up-hello-life-love-red

The card still needed something so I stamped the 2 little hearts from the Hello Life set in Calypso Coral and then drew stitching lines around the edge with my Real Red Stampin' Write marker, then mounted the 4x4 white piece on a folded Real Red card.

Dotty-angles-heart-cards-stampin-up-hello-life-love-coral

After stamping the Dotty Angles dots on this whisper white square, I mounted it on a folded Calpyso Coral folded card using Stampin' Dimensionals, then placed the white heart back inside the opening.  Organza White RIbbon finishes off this card.

Hope you had fun feeling the LOVE we have to share with you today!!

Mini-treat-bag-wedding-favor-candy-bar

How fun is this... one of the new products available in the 2015 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog is called the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit die.. it's for the Big Shot and cuts out this fun little bag!! The finished size is roughly 3-1/2" x 5-1/4" so as you can see here, it fits one of the regular size Hershey candy bars just perfectly!

Mini-treat-bag-wedding-favor-candy-bar-diy

I cut out the bag and wrapped the candy bar with the new Something Borrowed Designer Paper (pg 42).  The little coral colored strip is the same paper but spritzed with some Calypso Coral ink in a spritzer with rubbing alcohol.

Christmas Blog Tour with the Control Freaks

Freakwelcome2013

WELCOME to the November 2014

  Control Freak

  Blog Tour!!!

Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! projects featuring

a Christmas theme

You have probably reached me after visiting Justin's Amazing blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit him! :)

Project #1: Gift Box - Get your Santa On Tag

Kraft-gift-box-under-the-tree-get-your-santa-on-box-christmas

I wanted to dress up a Kraft Gift Box (found on pg 200 in your Stampin' UP! Catalog), so I cut pieces of Under the Tree heavy-weight designer paper and covered each side, leaving a small border around each piece.  Then I used the adorable new stamp set called Get Your Santa On and stamped it with Memento Black ink and Colored it with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities markers.  Did you notice the cute little "stitched" images at the bottom of the tag!?  Want to know where I found those? They are in the Project Life Holiday Cheer stamp set!!  (see pg 35 Holiday Catalog #135188). I created my own 2" x 4-1/4" tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Oh, and Merry Christmas... that's from 2 different sets..I thought that was pretty clever!!  MERRY is from Cheerful Tags (pg 5) and Christmas is from Watercolor Winter Too (pg 37).

I topped it all off with Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon (pg 7) and some Mossy Meadow ribbon #133670 - oh and a Gold Button!

Christmas-gift-box-designer-paper

Project #2: Santa & Co Winter Wonderland card

Santa-co-snowman-card-december-wonder-stampin-up

I know that the "Jury is Out" on the Santa & Co. paper and the Visions of Santa stamp set (Pg 29 Holiday catalog), but I LOVE LOVE LOVE these patterns from the Santa & Co. DSP pack... so cheery for winter and Christmas!  I added them to a folded Whisper White card, then tied the new Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon.. the detail in this ribbon is just gorgeous. I stamped Winter Wonderland from the new Project Life December Wonder stamp set (supplement pg 9) then made it in to a banner and added 3 Nordic Noel Buttons to pull together the red, white and blue color scheme.

Control Freak Blog Tour - Fall and Gratitude projects

Freakwelcome2013

Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! projects featuring

Fall and Gratitude themes

You have probably reached me after visiting Mary Brown's wonderful blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

Card #1: Gratitude for Days Thank You Cards

featuring the Gratitude for Days Pockets on pg 38 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Gratitude-for-days-grateful-pocket-cards-stampin-up

I just love these pretty pockets, and you may remember that I used all of the orange, yellow and green ones for my Halloween Founder's Circle swaps.. so I had all the blue and gray ones left over for Customer Thank You cards!

Gratitude-for-days-grateful-pocket-stampin-up

The kit comes with the pockets, journaling cards for inside the pockets, and some stickers, twine and clips so that you can make this into a "30 days of gratitude" banner if you wish.  See all the details on pg 38 of the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.

Gratitude-for-days-pocket-card-stampin-up-2

So who am I grateful for? Well, LOTS of people, but definitely at the top of my lists are my amazing Stampin' Up! Customers.  These are a few of the Thank You Cards I mailed out for customer orders in August.

My 2nd Project for our tour today:

Thanks card featuring the Seasonally Scattered thanks image and leaves and acorns from the For All Things Stamp set. Both sets can be found in the Holiday catalog (pgs 41 and 43).

For-all-things-seasonally-scattered-thanks-card-stampin-up

The trick on this simple thanks card is to avoid stamping over the word thanks with the leaves, so that it remains white and crisp with a lot of contrast to the pretty fall colors.

Simple and Elegant Control Freaks Blog Tour

Freakwelcome2013

WELCOME to the August 2014

  Control Freak

  Blog Tour!!!

Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! projects that are

SIMPLE & ELEGANT

Our tour this month showcases cards that are Simple yet Elegant, or "Flat and Fabulous".. perhaps 1 or 2 layer cards without lots of embellishing...  we hope you enjoy this tour!   You have probably reached me after visiting Heidi Baks fantabulous blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :) This month I'm a Heidi Sandwich... I'm sandwiched between 2 amazing Heidi's!!! :)

Card #1: Corner Garden Stamp

My first card uses a new background stamp called Corner Garden in a very different way!  I had not thought about turning this stamp on its side but I like it!

If you are looking for it, it's on pg 175 in the current Stampin' UP! Catalog.

 Blendabilities-corner-garden-stampin-up-card-pattystamps

After stamping the background stamp on Whisper White in Calypso Coral (my current fave Stampin' Up! color), I stamped the stamp again in Black Memento ink onto Whisper White and colored in the largest flower with Calypso Coral Blendabilities markers and then cut it out with my nice sharp paper snips, added petals with the Beautiful Bunch set stamped in Old Olive on Old Olive cardstock and punched with the Fun Flower punch, then added that to the card. The Thanks a Bunch stamp is from the Occasions 4 You set, pg 8.

Simple, yet elegant... don't you think?

  Blendabilities-calypso-coral-corner-garden-flowers

You can see the Blendabilities colors I used for the flower.. the 3 Calypso Coral Blendabilities markers plus the Blush (skin tone) marker and the Color Lifter. (Yep, this card was for a swap.. in fact it was for a Control Freaks Swap!)

Card #2: Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp

My second card features a hostess set called Bloom with Hope  colored with Blendabilities markers.

Blendabilities-bloom-with-hope-stripes-embossing-folder

I think the Stylish Stripes embossing folder background, white on white, really makes this card beautiful and elegant.  I also like the sponging effect around the edge of the tag... I used both Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight to sponge the edges.

Blendabilities-bloom-with-hope-stripes-embossing-folder-tag

After stamping the flower with Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock, I colored it with Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight markers with some brown in the center from the Skin Tone assortment.  I used my Scalloped Tag Topper punch to make this a pretty tag focal point.

Control Freak Convention Swaps Blog Tour

Freakwelcome2013

WELCOME to the July 2014

  Control Freak

  Blog Tour!!!

Our theme this month:

Stampin' Up! Annual Control Freak Convention Swaps

Each year at Convention The Control Freaks Group has a great time getting together at lunch and swapping special cards with each other.  Our tour this month showcases the cards we swapped with the Control Freak Group at lunch on Friday!   You have probably reached me after visiting Wendy Weixler's fantastic blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

My first card uses a new Embossing folder in a very different way!

HOW TO:  To achieve this look, apply White StazOn ink from the ink pad directly onto the embossing folder, place your Basic Black cardstock into the folder, close the folder and just press with your hands.  DO NOT emboss it.  You could emboss it, but to get this look you are just transfering the ink!

  Lovely-lace-embossing-folder-stazon-white-card-stampin-up

For this embossing folder technique, you will need:

Embossing Folder: Lovely Lace, pg 227, #133737

White Staz On ink pad: pg 211, #106960

Basic Black cardstock: pg 183, #121045

Lovely-lace-embossing-folder-stazon-white-2-stampin-up

The floral focal point is stamped with the Beautiful Bunch stamp set on Calypso Coral cardstock in Calypso Coral ink. It's punched out with the Fun Flower Punch. 2 flowers are layered together and the center is stamped and punched as well.  The leaves are actually the same flower stamp, but stamped in Old Olive ink on Whisper White paper, punched out and then each "flower" is cut into 1/3rds and used as pairs of leaves!

Beautiful Bunch set, pg 158, #134279. Fun Flower punch, pg 219, #133785.

7/8" Scallop punch, pg 220, #129404

Lovely-lace-embossing-folder-stazon-white-flower-stampin-up

The accent on this card is the new Sweet Sadie Washi Tape, pg 190, #133690.

The black card front is mounted onto a folded Calypso Coral card.

CLICK HERE TO PLACE YOUR ORDER in my online store anytime.

At our convnention lunch swap, we always swap 2 cards.. this is my 2nd card.

Although the Vivid Vases stamp is not new, I did color it with the Blendabilities Markers which ARE new and are fantastically fun to use!

The Vivid Vases stamp (pg 167, #133818) is stamped on a Whisper White die cut created with the Party Pennants Big Shot die (pg 232, #133732).  I attached that to a piece of Blackberry Bliss polka dot paper from the 2014-2016 In Color Paper stack, pg 185, #133705) and that is on a Whisper White note card (pg 194, #131527).

Vivid-vases-blendabilities-stampin-up-card-convention-swap

The accent on the left side of the die cut is Washi Tape from the Beach House package, pg 190, #133689.

The Blendabilities marker colors I used (from Left to Right): Coastal Cabana (#131000), Daffodil Delight (#130998), Pumpkin Pie (#130997), Rich Razzleberry (#131003) and Cherry Cobbler (#130995). The stems are colored with the Old Olive assortment (#130999).

CLICK HERE TO PLACE YOUR ORDER in my online store anytime.

Vivid-vases-blendabilities-stampin-up-card-itty-bitty-punch-flowers

Each vase is topped with punched flowers from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack pg 222, #133787.  I placed a pearl (#119247) in the center of each flower and colored it with the same Blendabilities color as the vase.

Our theme this month:

Spring and Easter ideas

You have probably reached me after visiting Heidi Baks' fabulous blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

The first project I have to share with you is a cute punch art Easter Bunny featuring the Stampin' Up! Oval Collection framelits and oval punches.  Isn't she just TOO CUTE? (yes, she's a she!) :)

Punch-art-easter-bunny-basket-ovals

I had seen this idea online and my upline Sandy shared this bunny idea with me as well.  I thought my little bunny would look cute in a green polkadot Easter basket (from the dollar spot in Target)!

Punch-art-easter-bunny-oval-framelits
Do you like her? I am trying to think of a name for her... hmmmm any ideas?

Punch-art-easter-bunny-ovals-framelits<<<<  You can die cut and punch all the pieces you need from a 6x6 piece of designer paper.  This double sided pattern was from the Calypso Coral Celebration Add-on kit (#133431) found on page 30 of the Occasions catalog. The brown polka dots are on the other side of this pattern.

I used both the Oval Collection Framelits (#129381) and 3 different oval punches to create this cutie pie Easter Bunny and her polka dot Easter egg!

The eyes are punched with the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Shapes pack (#118309), and the nose is the Small Heart Punch (#117193). I used the Chalk Marker (#132133) on the eyes and a Basic Black marker to draw the whiskers and eyelashes.

I honestly think that the last 6 weeks could possibly be the fastest EVER! Where did the time go?  I haven't even had enough time to play with all my Sale a Bration goodies yet and Sale a Bration is almost done!

I know....WHAT!?  REALLY?  YES! it's almost done!

Well, since we have very little time left to share during Sale a Bration I wanted to share one of my favorite SAB card creations with you:

Sweet-sorbet-petal-parade-thinking-of-you-card

This is a pretty simple card and it just screams SPRING doesn't it!?

I just can't get enough of the gorgeous Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper choice this Sale a Bration!  It's so springy and colorful!  To receive your pack, enter item code 133521 as your free item with your $50 order online! You can click the shop online button at the top of my blog to place your order.

Sweet-sorbet-petal-parade-scallop-tag

I added 2 focal points to this card.. a punched tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (#133324) and a die cut label from the Apothecary Accents framelit set (#127003).  I've stamped them with the Petal Parade stamp set, which is ANOTHER freebie item from Sale a Bration!!!  Doesn't that stamp set just go perfectly with the patterned paper!? You almost can't tell which part is stamped and which is the paper! :)

Thank you for coming along on the tour today!!  Please enjoy all of the other beautiful spring and Easter projects we have lined up for you!!

Stampin' Up!

samples with a Gratitude theme!

You have probably reached me via Mindy's fun blog...  and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

I am so very grateful for sooooooooooo many things, and one of them is all of my amazing Stampin' Up! Customers!  I am sharing 2 projects with you today that I've made for my Stampin' Up! customers.

I'm super excited about this first project.. I just made these this week.  I designed images in My Digital Studio and then printed them on my HP Color Laser Printer onto our Tag a Bag chevron bags!!!

Tag-a-bag-chevron-gratitude

I added Washi Tape, a button and a burlap bow to decorate the bag.

These will be filled with little thank you goodies for my customers this fall.

Watch my blog on Monday, Oct. 21 for more info and more samples of printing on the bags!

Patty's 2nd Gratitude project:

This is one of the Customer Thank You cards I made for my dear customers this month:

Magnificent-maple-file-folder-card

I used a background that I created and printed from My Digital Studio, then stamped the Magificent Maple leaf in 3 colors, stamped A Million & One Thanks in Early Espresso ink, and then tied the orange ribbon around the card.

For instructions on making these file folder cards with the Envelope Punch Board, click to view my video for  File Folder Cards with Envelope Punch Board.

Holiday Catalog!

You have probably reached me via Mindy Backes' great blog here...  and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

This Cute LIttle Treat Bag is one of the new Muslin Bags from the Holiday Catalog.  We made this at my Luv 2 Stamp Group meeting on Saturday.

Muslin bags halloween

It is easy to use the stencils from the Build a Banner kit.. just mask off if you only want a couple rows like I did here.

Muslin bag scotch tape mask 3

I just used regular Pumpkin Pie Classic ink, because I didn't think this project would need to hold up in the wash or anything... if you need it more permanent, be sure to use Staz On ink or acrylic paints.

I had the unique opportunity to mail a birthday card to Wendy's grandpa who was turning 90.. I wanted something masuline but still fun... Here is what I came up with featuring the NEW Chevron Border Punch.

Natural composition chevron bday card

I thought it was kind of a good blend of masculine colors and textures and shapes.. nothing too frilly... I think the Chevron Border Punch is a great touch for masculine cards... don't you?
