Do More of what Makes You Happy card

Stacked-with-love-meeting-packet

Today I am leading 2 online meetings for my Luv 2 Stamp Group

We are connecting all across the country via an online meeting service to discuss business, learn new stamping tips, share projects and create 3 stamped projects together!  I sent little project packets to those who RSVP'd for our meetings today and this is one of the cards we are all making together today!  I will be sharing the other 2 projects in the coming week.

Stacked-with-love-happy-card-stampin-up

This is just a simple Stampin' Up! Whisper White note card with a small piece of Stacked with Love paper attached to the bottom 1/3rd and then some Sale a Bration Calypso Coral ribbon wrapped around the card.

On the top portion, we are stamping this fun greeting from the Hello Life stamp set (pg 6 in the Occasions Catalog).  Stamping a couple of hearts from the same stamp set and adding an adorable chevron patterned button completes this simple yet striking card.

TIP for adding Ribbon to your folded Card - CLICK to View

The chevron button is found in the Sweet Dreams Designer Button package on pg 39 in the Occasions catalog and was added to the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.  Add a piece of twine through the hole if you wish, like I did here with Black and White Baker's Twine.

Gently Falling Stamp a Stack class cards

Don't miss the AMAZING SPECIALS from Stampin' Up! for October!

------------------------------------

I seriously think this is one GORGEOUS leaf set!!  GENTLY FALLING is on page 16 in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog, or you can view it online here.  When paired up with the new Spice Cake Designer paper (pg 19 Holiday Mini catalog), this is a real winning combo!!!

Gently falling 1
We stamped these cards in my Stamp A Stack class last month.

We used the "rock n roll" technique... the solid leaf images were inked in More Mustard first, then "rolled" around the edges in the Cajun Craze ink pad, then stamped.. Then the matching outline image was stamped in Early Espresso over the solid image.

I love this embellisment idea.. punch out designer paper with the 1-1/4" circle punch and adhere it to the center of the new Spice Cake Designer buttons! (pg 18 Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini catalog or ONLINE HERE)

--------------------------------------------------------

Twine keepers closeup Thought I'd share my Stampin' Up! Workshop Hostess gifts with you ... these adorable decorated containers are Baker's Twine Keepers!!

I know I saw this idea somewhere on the internet.. if you came up with it, please email me so I can give you credit!  {{UPDATE: Diana Gibbs emailed me.. i think it was on her site that I first saw it.. not sure.. thanks Di!!}} Marie also has this on her blog.. so cute!

Twine ribbon rolls I've been saving the plastic spools from the Ribbon rolls from all the ribbon shares, and of course I'm always saving the empty button and brad containers from Stampin' Up!... so it was a natural fit to make these. You can also purchase the empty containers here.

Twine packages Stampin' Up! Baker's twine (Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and White) all come wound on these cardboard pieces... I'm not a huge fan of this packaging method, so when I saw this idea, I knew i had to make these for myself... but I couldn't stop making them.. so I made them for my Workshop Hostesses!

Step 1: wind the Baker's Twine onto the empty ribbon spools

Twine on roll 2
Step 2:  Depending on your empty container... if the spool is going to fly around loosly in there, then add Sticky Strip to one side of the spool and attach a 2-3/8" scallop circle or plain circle piece of cardstock

Twine sticky strip Twine on scallop

Step 3:  use your CROP A DILE and punch a hole in the side of one of the containers:

Twine crop a dile

Step 4:  feed the end of the Baker's Twine through the hole:

Twine in hole
Step 5:  put the spool into the container:

Twine scallop in cont
Step 6: place the lid on top and decorate

Spice cake buttons I fell in love with the new jumbo Spice Cake Designer Buttons, and used those to decorate my containers... notice how I decorated mine with either white accents (for the white twine), or Cherry Cobbler accents for the Cherry Cobbler twine or Early Espresso accents for the Early Espresso twine!?  Just a tad bit clever.. huh?  :)

Don't miss out on the HOLIDAY MINI ACCESSORY SAMPLER I'm offering right now!  Spice Cake Buttons are included in that sampler!

FABULOUS TIP:  punch Designer Paper circles with your 1-1/4" circle punch and they fit PERFECTLY inside the center of the adorable Spice Cake Buttons!!

Doesn't it just make your heart happy to look at this fun Stampin' Up! Sunflower Card?

Sunflower 1

I made this card after I saw a swap that one of my downline, Karen Abbot made...  after stamping the Sunflower image (item 123606, pg 149) and the friendship image (For Everything set, pg 70) I embellished the sunflower with a 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch and a Brand New ULTRA MEGA FABULOUS SPICE CAKE DESIGNER BUTTON!!  Inside the center of the Soft Suede button, I punched a 1-1/4" circle from the Beau Chateau DSP package (polka dots) and snailed it to the button.. toooo cute???

Need a sampling of these new buttons? check this out!

I cut little slits in each "valley" of the scallop punched piece and sponged the edges with some Tangerine Tango ink.

Button Bracelets!

OH my gosh.. these are too cute!! Go GRAB YOUR STAMPIN' UP! BUTTONS and have fun!!

I got this idea from Jill Olsen's blog, so I grabbed all my SU! buttons, stretchy cord and a beading needle and had fun!

Button bracelet 1  Button bracelet 2

For the one on the left, I followed Jill's directions and for the one on the right I made up another pattern..  see below for details.

SUPPLIES:

.5mm stretchy cord, beading needle and 30 buttons

Buttons

Supplies 1

I had never used a "beading needle" before.. it's great for the stretchy cord! The "eye" is in the middle of the needle - you spread the needle apart and slip the stretchy cord thru it and it shuts around the cord.

Supplies needle 2

Buttons 1 Lay your buttons out as shown at left... 10 medium, 10 large with 10 "flower" or small buttons on top of the large ones.

The instructions called for 30 buttons as noted above. I found that I only needed 9 of each size to fit my wrist nicely.  I have fairly large wrists, so you may want to stop when you have strung 8 of each size and wrap it around your wrist and then add more as needed.

Cut approx. 26" to 30" of stretchy cord and begin stringing your buttons, leaving about a 3" tail.

here is how I strung them - the cord comes up from the bottom and thru the large and flower button, then back down, then down thru the med. button, back up thru the med. button, up thru the large and flower button, etc.

Buttons 1a

When you start to push them all together, it looks like this:

Buttons 1b

After stringing 9 of each size it looks like this from the front:

Buttons 1c

and looks like this on the back:

Buttons 1e

Side view:

Buttons 1d
Wrap it around your wrist to see if you like the length using 8 of each, 9 of each or 10 of each or more.

then pull it into a circle and tie the cord into a couple knots:

Buttons 1f
THEN run the excess stretchy cord BACK THRU ALL THE HOLES again, and tie the ends or use a crimp bead.  This is where you will find that the beading needle is soooooooooo helpful!

Button bracelet 1

I also wanted to try it with the big buttons being the bottom layer... I don't quite like it as well, but it's just a different look:

Buttons 2b

Buttons 2c

For the above 2 bracelets I mixed and matched buttons from the following packages:

Springtime Vintage Big Designer Buttons, Occasions mini, #122301 (available Jan. 4th)

Deck the Halls Big Designer Buttons, Holiday mini, #121002 (ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A FEW MORE DAYS!!! CLICK HERE to order now!)
