Stampin' Up! Convention 2011 Gifts

I'm off to the Stampin' Up! 2011 Convention in Salt Lake City!! I'll try to post here as often as possible during the coming week!

Each year I am so excited about going to the Stampin' Up! convention!!  I have only missed one convention since 1995 when I joined Stampin' Up!.  One of the very fun things about convention is spending time with the demonstrators in my Luv 2 Stamp Group.  I give them a Convention Gift each year.. this year I got them done early and mailed them out or handed them out to my gals attending convention.. whew! :)

Notepads convention gifts
I made them each a notepad holder to take notes during convention classes, and a tag to put on their bag.

Notepad holder front
Yes, I made these using My Digital Studio and the fabulously fun and darling Cheerful Treat hostess downloads (pg 11, #124237) and the Flirtatious DSP download (pg 126, #124227).

Notepad holder outside

The notepads (from an office supply store) are inside our CLEAR MOUNT STAMP CASES (pg 205, #119105)

Notepad holder inside

The tag is also printed with My Digital Studio and cut out with the Two Tags Die, then I cut an additional tag with the Two Tags Die (pg 222, #115954) with OnBoard chipboard sheets (pg 216, #114230), and adhered them together like a sandwich using the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets (pg 216, #120805).

Convention tags

I made a fun flower for the tag using Flirtatious Fabric (pg 196, #122335), Flirtatious DSP (pg 183, #122360), Jumbo brads (pg 199, #112533) and the FUN FLOWERS DIE with the big shot (pg 221, #121812).

JOIN STAMPIN' UP!!  I'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU JOIN MY TEAM!

If you sign up to be a demonstrator, you too can join us at Convention for all the fun!  Check out the $99 sign up special going on right now! :)

Chipboard Heart with Paper Flower VIDEO TUTORIAL

Heart 7 We made several projects at our March Luv 2 Stamp Group meeting ... covering an On Board Heart Book chipboard piece with the Welcome Neighbor DSP was one of the projects.

Kim shared several projects and tips with our group for covering the ON BOARD BOOKS (pg 34 in the Occasions Mini), and I demonstrated how to make the Paper Flower using the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch (pg 11 of the Occasions Mini Catalog).

CHECK OUT MY VIDEO below for tips on how to make the paper flower with the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch.

They LOVED their Sweet Pea Totes & Tags!

After my Luv 2 Stamp Group Stamp A Rama event yesterday, I gave each participant a Sweet Pea Tote Bag from Stampin' Up! and the supplies to make a heart tag for their tote... they had a GREAT time making them in the afternoon, and they loved this gift.

Group bags

The front of the tags were the same design, but with their initial on it (I cut them using chipboard, and the Serif Essentials Big Shot die):

So that I would have enough of the birdy/flower design for each person, I printed it out from My Digital Studio using the Sweet Pea Designer paper download file !  :)

They each got to design the back of their tag using a piece of DSP from the Sweet Pea Designer Paper pack and Sweet Pea felt.. aren't they soooooooooo cute!?

Super Cute Penguin Ornament!!

I think this is my most FAVORITE ornament I've ever made!!!  My son and I LOVE Penguins.. we started collecting 1 or 2 stuffed penguins each Christmas time, and we have QUITE a fun collection (see below) which is why I made this ornament for my son this year.  :)

Penguin ornament 1

Don't you just love it? Penguins are SO cute! I mounted them on a Stampin' Up! round chipboard ornament.

If you were giving it to a friend, you could add this 2nd part of the greeting (from the Punch Pals set):

Penguin ornament 2

So, here are a couple tips for making them:

THIS IS THE BACK to help show you some of the punch sizes I used:

Penguin how to back

Tip for the beak:

Penguin how to beak

If you want to make some of these cute penquins but don't have all the punches, I'd be happy to punch the pieces for you.  You will get the punched pieces for 1 large and 1 small penguin (as shown on the ornament - DSP designs may vary) plus 2 assorted coordinating buttons for their hats.   YOU will need to provide adhesive and the white gel pen to make the eyes. You can add them to an ornament or card or box or anything you wish. I cannot include any stamping per Stampin' Up! policy.

Order your Punched Penguin kit here - kit includes the punched pieces to make 2 penguins as shown on the ornament above.  Kit is $6 and includes shipping to you.  US orders only.

And here is our FUN furry penguin collection!

More Chipboard Ornaments

Here are a couple more chipboard pieces I've been working on ... this one is our son:

Ornament jb

I colored all the chipboard by using the "direct to paper" method with the Stampin' Up! Craft ink pads.

Ornament us circle

Above, the circle cut out came from the I Wish SS kit.  Weird how a photo of a photo comes out kinda blurry.. I took this about 7 times and the photo part was always blurry.. oh well.. you get the idea.

and this one (below) is actually a gift tag for my friend Joy!

Last night was my Chipboard Ornament class...  I'll have samples to share tomorrow.

Chipboard Ornaments

In preparation for my Chipboard Ornament get together tonight, I was making some ornaments with our photos.. I love to have an ornament (or 2 or 3 or 4) with our family photo from each year on the tree.. it's so fun to look back and see our son as a youngster!  I've got more ornaments to share tomorrow of the whole family, but here are a couple I made with our son's Sr. Portraits:

Ornaments 1

I used supplies in the I Wish SS kit, the Country Living holiday kit and the Big Shot for these 2 ornaments.

Ornament 2

The ornament above was made using the Scallop Die and the Big Shot and putting a Designer Paper covered coaster on top!  I sanded the edges of the covered coaster which is why you see a white outline.   The jumbo eyelet holds the ribbon securely - the ribbon is between the coaster and the designer paper.  Most of the supplies are from the I Wish SS kit.

Below is the back of the little round chipboard ornament:

Ornament back

Tonight is our cookie party and chipboard ornament making night.. too fun!  I'm looking forward to stamping (and eating!) with my buddies!
