One of the projects I brought to display at our Luv 2 Stamp Group event last weekend was my SWEET MOMENTS SIMPLY SENT SAMPLES (see pg 193, and place your order here).

The Sweet Moments Simply Sent kit comes with the supplies to make 8 gorgeous die cut cards.  I added large background stamps to the cards to make them just a bit more embellished.

LEFT: I added the GORGEOUS new SWEET FLORAL background stamp (#122855, pg 151) in Concord Crush ink to the card and I also tied some Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon around the card flap.

RIGHT:  I stamped the lovely floral image from ELEMENTS OF STYLE (#118611, pg 134) in Chocolate chip ink onto the card and I also stamped one of the BORDERLINES images (#122640, pg 148) in Chocolate Chip ink on the card.

You can make adorable BOXES with this CARD KIT!!

I have had a lot of fun making cards and these adorable boxes with this kit.  Sara Douglass showed us how to make these boxes at the Stampin' Up! convention in July... WAY too clever!

As you know I had a GREAT TIME at our annual Stampin' Up! Convention in July ... I wanted to archive some of the fun moments in a My Digital Studio SWATCH BOOK.. these books are so cute.. i did this in an evening!!  If you have updated to the latest version of MDS you will see this swatch book option under PHOTOBOOKS & INDIVIDUAL PAGES when you go to create a new project.  (More info on SWATCH BOOKS here)

this gives you an idea of the size... the pages measure 3-1/4" x 5-1/2" and are attached with a rivet in the upper left corner.

here are a few of the pages:

when you flip it over, you see all the pages on the back sides... too fun!

I know this is going to be hard to see but you can double-click it to enlarge it.... what I did to start my swatch book was to make about 10 different "templates" (backgrounds with places for photos and journaling) and I repeated these pages over and over to fill my 26 page book.  Then I SAVED that file and opened a duplicate file to use for my Convention 2011 book, and inserted my convention photos.. that way I have a little swatch book template that I can reuse, modify, etc. without redoing all the work.

Believe it or not, i think I'm STILL putting away stuff from the Stampin' Up! convention last month...

I've got lots of cute gifties to give away to my Luv 2 Stamp Group downline members and newest recruits, and 280 swaps to go through and put on display boards .. about 17 stamp sets to mount and use...  it's sure a good thing I was able to send things home with my hubby and son who flew up for Awards Night AND send things home with fellow demonstrator Olive who drove up from this area!  Thanks, Olive!

One of the neat things we got to do at the 2011 Stampin' Up! Convention was chat with CEO Shelli Gardner.. I've had the pleasure of knowing her for years but it's always a THRILL to get to say hi to her and give her a hug... here are some photos of my downline Kim and I meeting Shelli and getting her autograph.

Control Freak Convention Swap Blog Tour

WELCOME to the July 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour !!!

We are showcasing the cards we swapped with each other at Convention at our annual lunchtime swap.

Last week I gathered with my fellow Control Freak demonstrator friends to swap cards at the Stampin' Up! Convention.  They are VERY TALENTED gals and I am blessed to count them among my friends!

Below are the 2 cards I swapped with them at our annual lunch time convention swap.  Both are My Digital Studio Hybrid cards.

ABOVE: I used a piece of designer paper from the BEYOND THE GARDEN package (pg 185, #122342) on the top (the yellow and white flowered paper) and I made my own flowered paper for the bottom portion on My Digital Studio.  I layered them onto a Lucky Limeade folded card and added Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon (pg 194, #122977).  I stamped the 'THANKS FOR BEING A FRIEND' sentiment (from Happy Greetings, pg 26 Summer Mini) in Poppy Parade ink onto a die cut doily from the PERFECT PENNANTS die (pg 221, #123126).  I made the Fabulous Florets flowers in My Digital Studio, also, and YES I PROMISE Iam making a video tutorial for this .. my to-do list is just so long you can't believe it (I actually have about 5 to-do lists).  :)  The leaves are stamped in Lucky LImeade on Lucky Limeade cardstock with the Build a Blossom set (pg 112, #121923 or 121994).
