I colored these images with my copic markers MONTHS ago and had them sitting on my stamping table all this time, so I decided to die cut them with the new Stampin' UP! Layering Ovals and Layering Circle framelits, then I mounted them to Whisper White Note Cards.   I truly love how they came out!!

I really Punched Up the color on this note card by sponging the doily in Melon Mambo ink and a sponge dauber, and adding Cucumber Crush striped designer paper and striped ribbon!

Crafting tip: make custom colored doilies by sponging ink onto them with a Stampin' UP! Sponge Dauber!

Tip: create custom  colored doilies by gently adding color with a sponge dauber and Stampin' UP! Classic ink!

For the note card above, I went with a little bit softer look but still pops of color with my Copic marker coloring.  The background was created with the Festive Embossing folder (pg 11 in the annual Stampin' UP! catalog, #141471).  I used the same Cucumber Crush striped ribbon on this card as the other card in this post.  I like that ribbon a LOT!

Copic Marker & Wink of Stella Flower Card

For anyone who loves to color, this Remarkable You stamp set is perfect! The outline images in this stamp set are perfect for watercoloring, using Stampin' Write markers, colored pencils or Copic Markers.

I colored this flower note card with my Copic Markers and then added some Wink of Stella glimmer to the leaves and flower!

139894 stamp set remarkable you from Stampin' Up!

This floral stamp set is available in both clear mount and wood mount options.. you know me, I'm a "wood stamp girl" so I have it in wood, but both are great options for your rubber stamp set collection.

I didn't pay much attention to the color..I just grabbed my copic markers and started to color.  Then I wondered what flower this actually is, so I asked my Luv 2 Stamp Group team and Cara said it's a magnolia! ack!  I thought magnolias were only white so I thought I really blew it with my coloring, but she sent me this link.. yes, there are purple magnolias! :)

Then, we had further discussions and some thought it was a type of lily .. so.. whatever it is, it is purple in my little world, and I hope you like it! :)

I accented the green and lavender colors in this card with Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding ribbon and some green printed paper from the NEW Affectionately Yours designer paper pack, coming up in the 2016 June Stampin' Up! catalog.

Everything is layered onto a Whisper White note card.

What do you think about this color combo?  I think it's pretty striking!!

Practicing my Copic Marker Coloring with Christmas Cuties

Christmas-cuties-woodland-embossing-folder-stampin-up-copic-markers

I love coloring!

I have loved to color since I was a little girl, when the Burnt Sienna crayon in the big Crayola 64 pack was my favorite color!  I still love to color, and thought this adorable Christmas Cuties stamp set would be the perfect set to try out some coloring with my Copic Markers!

Christmas Cuties Stamp set, pg 19 of the 2015 Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog #139784 (wood mounted stamps) or #139787 in the clear mount option.

Were you sad like I was when Stampin' Up! discontinued the Blendabilities Markers?  I decided to buy a few Copic Markers and give them a try with the great outline image stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

Have you tried this great Woodlands Embossing Folder background technique yet?

  1. Lightly brayer some Lost Lagoon ink directly onto the Woodland Embossing folder (the side with the raised background and "depressed" tree trunks)
  2. Stamp some trees onto the folder with the Wonderland set and Garden Green ink
  3. Punch out a circle using a post-it note, and put it onto your white card panel
  4. Put the white card into the embossing folder, run through the Big Shot
  5. Take the post-it note circle off the white card and VOILA! A winter tree scene with a moon!

I added a "snowy hill" with a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to the bottom of the card, then after coloring and cutting out my Christmas Cutie, I added him (her?) to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

As you can see I colored 2 of these little cuties... so now I need to make another card with my 2nd cutie!!

Color Me Irresistable Specialty Paper from Stampin' Up!

Do Polka Dots just make you happy!? They make me smile!! Especially these cute random polka dots in the Color Me Irresistible specialty paper pack from Stampin' Up!  Normally I'm not a fan of random... I like everything nice and orderly in rows and columns - must stem from my structural engineering drafting background... but these random polka dots make me smile!

Youre-sublime-stampin-up-loads-of-wheelbarrow-pattystamps-card-color-me-irresistable

I used the customizable Color Me Irresistible paper from Stampin' UP! (ON SALE this week!) and made a pretty Melon Mambo pink background with an ombre effect that fades from dark to light across the piece.  I mounted it onto a Whisper White note card and rounded all the corners.

Here is how to custom color this great paper with a Stampin' Sponge and ink pads! (sorry for the typo!)

How easy is that!?  Check out this delightful paper pack on pg 142 in the Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 catalog or here online.

This Wheelbarrow stamp image from the You're Sublime set is just too dang cute.  I love the You're Sublime stamp set on pg 45 in the Stampin' Up! catalog!! I stamped the image in Memento Black ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock, colored it with Copic markers, and then punched it out with my 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, layered it onto a 2-1/2" circle of Melon Mambo cardstock and then onto a Metallic Foil doily flipped upside down so I could use the white side!

To top the card off.. I embellished it with tiny punched flowers from the Tree Builder punch!! They are so itty bitty and too cute!

I know there were a lot of fun ideas going on on this card.. what was your favorite tip?  I love to hear your feedback.. feel free to leave me a comment anytime!

Add a little Pizzazz to your Project with Paper Piercing

Youre-sublime-stampin-up-loads-of-thanks-wheelbarrow-pattystamps-card-butterfly-punch

Paper Piercing... it's one of those little "extras" that can add so much to your stamped card or handcrafted project, but yet, we often forget about it!

I grabbed the Updated Essentials Paper Piercing Template, my mat and Paper Piercing tool (pg 168 in the 2015-2016 Stampin' UP! catalog) and added a circle of paper pierced holes around the punched circle on my card.. do you like it?

I think it adds just the right POP!

Youre-sublime-stampin-up-loads-of-thanks-wheelbarrow-pattystamps-card

Isn't this You're Sublime stamp set cute!?  I love it!  It's on pg 45 in the new catalog!

139309_stampset_youresublime_clear

For this sweet Thank You greeting card, I stamped the wheelbarrow image from the new Stampin' Up! "You're Sublime" stamp set (pg 45 in the new catalog or HERE online) onto Thick Whisper White cardstock, and then I colored it with my new Copic markers. I decided to give them a try and I like the results with this outline stamp set!!  I punched out my image with the 2-1/2" circle punch, then put it on my Paper Piercing Mat and pierced the holes as shown in the mini-tutorial below:

Updated-essentials-paper-piercing-how-to-stampin-up-pattystamps

The final touch was to place the punched circle onto one of the new Metallic Foil Doilies... but I didn't care for either the gold or silver one on this particular card, so I flipped it over and used the other side which is white!!  eeek... clever? yes! :)

The sweet piece of butterfly paper is trimmed to 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" and is from the Pretty Petals paper stack (pg 144) and layered onto a Stampin' UP! Whisper White Note Card (pg 149).  Two punched butterflies were the finishing touch on my card.  All of the supplies are shown below in this post.. you can click on any item for more info or to purchase that item online!
