How to Use the Seasonal Decorative Masks - video tutorial
September 17, 2016
Have you tried out the Decorative Masks from Stampin' UP! to create custom backgrounds?
Watch my VIDEO TUTORIAL below in this post to see how easy it is!
The background I created with the Seasonal Decorative masks for my Cookie Cutter Scarecrow card is Crushed Curry ink on Crushed Curry Cardstock. I like using the whole Stampin' Sponge as you will see in the video below.
These masks (or stencils as I called them in my earlier crafting days... long long ago.. ) are really versatile because they let you create any color background image on any color cardstock!!
PROBLEM SOLVED!
Need 20 sheets of red/white candy cane stripes? No problem!
Need 100 sheets of polkadots? No problem!
With regular printed patterned paper, you'd run out of the pattern you need, or you'd need to buy tons of packs, but with masks, you can keep creating forever in exactly the colors and patterns you need!
Thank you for always leaving me such kind comments when I provide a free video tutorial for you .. today I have another quick video with all the info you'll need to use these Seasonal Decorative Masks PLUS A BONUS TIP!

After creating the cute swirly backgrounds for my Cookie Cutter Scarecrow cards, I embellished the note cards a bit with some scalloped circles die cut from the Warmth & Cheer paper stack (pg 13 Holiday catalog, #141991), a scalloped piece of cardstock using the Best Badge punch, (pg 186 in the annual catalog) - watch the BONUS TIP at the end of the video above to see how I did the scalloped border!, and a little hello banner stamped and punched with the Badges and Banners stamp set (pg 89) and the Best Badge punch (pg 186).
Bonus Tip!
Watch the video above for all the details to make a great scalloped edge with your Best Badge Punch! Thanks Cindee for teaching me how to do this! It was one of those priceless AH HA moments!

The houndstooth patterned paper is found in the Petals & Paisleys paper pack, pg 47 in the Holiday catalog. I used the Thick Whisper White Note Cards from Stampin' UP!... my favorites!!
