I stamped the flower image from the Southern Serenade stamp set (pg 49 in your 2018 Occasions catalog) in Memento Black ink onto Whisper White die cut Lots of Labels framelits (pg 214 in the current annual Stampin' Up! catalog), then colored them with my Stampin' Blends markers.  I decided to create one image with each pair of light and dark Stampin' Blends.

To my surprise, I REALLY loved the Rich Razzleberry image.. it surprised me because I am not a pink/purple person.. but this is so lovely!!

Tips!

  • Stamp the Southern Serenade flower image in Memento Black ink, and color with Stampin' Blends.
  • Stamp the lace image from Southern Serenade in Crumb Cake ink .. stamp off first if you want a lighter image.
  • If you don't have a ribbon to match your card, color it with Stampin' Blends - SEE THIS POST.
  • Color each of the flowers with both the light and dark Stampin' Blends, and color the leaves with the light and dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

Tips for creating a Handmade floral cards featuring Stampin' UP! Southern Serenade stamp set, Springtime Foils paper and Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. Cards by Patty Bennett

I created the actual card base from the striped piece of Springtime Foils paper, but you could also just put a piece of Springtime Foils paper on top of a folded Thick Whisper White card base.  I also added a piece of a contrasting Springtime Foils paper to the bottom 1/3 of the card, then added coordinating ribbon to each card.

You can make these too!  All the Stampin' UP! supplies I used are listed at the bottom of this post.. click on any product image to go right to my online store!

Easter Treat Box or Baby Shower Favor!

{{special update!! Click HERE for NEW Sale-a-Bration gift choices starting today!}}

I started this project thinking I was going to make Easter Candy Treat Boxes, but as I was creating them and grabbing pink and blue ink and cardstock, I thought, wow, these would make adorable Baby Shower favors or Gender Reveal party treats! What do you think?

Easter Treat Boxes or Gender Reveal party favors??? You decide! :) Pink and Blue bunny treat boxes featuring Stampin' UP! A Good Day stamp set, by Patty Bennett

The adorable bunny is found in the Stampin' UP! set called A Good Day.

The Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are from Stampin' Up! and assemble in 10 seconds or less. So easy to create cute little acetate box treats with these!  Find them on pg 195 of the current annual catalog, or, here online. You don't even need adhesive to assemble the boxes!

141699 Clear Tiny Treat Boxes from Stampin Up! available at www.MyStampOrder.com

I stuffed some Sweet Soiree Shreddie in each box, then filled with Easter Candy treats.

Above: I stamped the bunny from "A Good Day" stamp set in Marina Mist Stampin' UP! ink on Whisper White and punched it with the 1-1/4" circle punch.  Then I punched a piece of Marina Mist cardstock with the 1-3/8" scallop circle punch and then layered them both onto a silver metallic doily!  The box is tied up with 3/8" Silver Metallic edge white ribbon.

Below: I stamped the bunny from "A Good Day" stamp set in Marina Mist Stampin' UP! ink on Whisper White and punched it with the 1" circle punch.  Then I punched a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock with the 1-1/4" scallop circle punch.  I stamped another image from A Good Day in Marina Mist, and punched it with the 1-3/8" scallop circle punch and layered them all together with Snail adhesive.  I layered all of those onto a Pink Pirouette banner piece die cut from the Petals and More framelits!  The box is tied up with 1/2" Powder Pink ribbon.

Easter Treat Cello Bag Idea

Did you notice the adorable bunny image in the We Must Celebrate Stampin' Up! stamp set?  It's on page 39 in the 2018 Occasions Catalog and I think he's pretty cute!! (or here online).  I inked only the bunny and colored him with Stampin' Blends to make tags for my Easter Treat cello bags!

Easter Treat Cello Bag idea featuring Stampin' Up! We Must Celebrate bunny stamp and Stampin' Blends markers, by Patty Bennett

I filled 3x6 gusseted cello bags with various Easter Candy, then made tags for them with the bunny stamp.  I think they are so cute!

You can make these! All of these Stampin' Up! Supplies are available in my online store.. click any product photo link at the bottom of this post.  You'll need to shop for your own candy though.. and warning.. you might need to sample it before filling the bags... just sayin'. Cuz, that's what I did.

Easter Treat Cello Bag idea featuring Stampin' Up! We Must Celebrate bunny stamp and Stampin' Blends markers, by Patty Bennett

On the tag above, I also die cut grass with the Picnic Basket Builder framelits and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then die cut it with the Layering Ovals framelits.  To finish off the tag, I just added a hint of color with the Light and Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends and then added some self-adhesive Tutti-Frutti sequins!  I tied up the bag with 3/8" metallic edge Berry Burst ribbon.

Easter Treat Cello Bag idea featuring Stampin' Up! We Must Celebrate bunny stamp and Stampin' Blends markers, by Patty Bennett

For the bunny tag above, I colored him with a touch of Light Crumb Cake and some Ivory Stampin' Blends and just a touch of Dark Pink Pirouette, then die cut him with the scalloped oval /Layering Ovals framelits. The middle layer is Flirty Flamingo, and  I had a polkadot oval on my desk from THIS PROJECT, so I just used it as my final layer.

The ribbon is the FREE Sale-a-Bration shimmer ribbon in Calypso Coral (yours free with a $50 order through 3/31/18).

The Cello Bags are 3"x6" with gusseted sides so you can fit quite a bit of candy in them if you want to.  They are on page 195 in the current Annual catalog, or HERE online. I'm sure it's not easy to see in the photo but I also filled the bag above with the Sweet Soiree Shreddie.

Easter Bunny Candy Treat - Stampin' UP! Lots of Love Box

Make a quick and easy Easter Treat Box with the Lots to Love box framelits!  They are so EASY to put together! Just 2 die cut pieces and 2 strips of adhesive are all you need!  I created this cute Easter / Spring Candy Box treat with the Lots to Love box framelits, Painted with Love designer paper and the cute "A Good Day" stamp set all found in the Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog.

Easter Candy Treat box idea featuring Stampin' UP! Lots to Love box framelits, Painted with Love designer paper and cute bunny stamp from the "A Good Day" stamp set, by Patty Bennett

Above: the treat box is die cut with the Painted with Love designer paper and it's the perfect weight for these boxes!  I put some Berry Burst Shreddie (pg 13 Occasions catalog #145562) into the box along with cute Easter Bunny candy.  I used Berry Burst 3/8" metallic edge ribbon to tie around the box!  The greeting is from the Badges & Banners set, and punched with the Duet Banner punch.

Below: I love all the fun layering possibilities using the "A Good Day" stamp set (pg 17 in the 2018 Occasions catalog) and the coordinating 1-1/8" and 1-3/8" Scallop circle punches!  I love stamping several images, punching them out and layering them, like I did on the bunny stamped scalloped circle below!

Easter Treat box idea featuring Stampin' UP! cute bunny stamp from the "A Good Day" stamp set, by Patty Bennett

I stamped the bunny with Memento black ink on Whisper White cardstock so I could color it with the Calypso Coral and Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends Markers.  In addition to the scalloped circle punches, I ended up layering the bunny onto a Berry Burst scalloped circle die cut from the Layering Circle framelits.  I added it to the box with Stampin' Dimensionals.

After Die cutting the 2 pieces for the box, I die cut an oval in one of the pieces, then cut a piece of Window Sheet to fit behind the oval cut out.  This is optional but allows the recipient to see what's in the box!  I highly recommend using the Tear & Tape to adhere the 2 halves of the box together! Easy to use and holds great!

Did you notice the cute little Easter Grass I added to the box?  I used the Picnic Basket framelit set to die cut 2 layers of grass.  One is Old Olive Cardstock and the other layer is Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  The Picnic Basket framelits are available on page 6 of the current 2018 Stampin' UP! Occasions catalog, or by clicking on any of the product photos at the bottom of this blog post.

As I was typing this blog post.. I had to go in the kitchen and sneak one of my Easter Eggs from See's Candy.  This has been a fave since I was a little girl...  I figure about 1 a week for a treat shouldn't be too bad, even though I don't really eat much chocolate.

Spring Basket card featuring Inside the Lines paper

Did you know that the adorable Stampin' Up! Basket Bunch stamp set and matching Basket Builder framelit dies don't have to be used just for Easter?  I created a beautiful basket full of daffodils and spring flowers for my card share today!

Basket Builder spring daffodil bouquet card featuring Stampin' UP! Inside the Lines Sale a Bration paper by Patty Bennett

I found a fun way to "color in" the Inside the Lines Sale a Bration paper from Stampin' UP!   Guess what I did... I found flower and leaf shapes in my Garden in Bloom stamp set that mimicked the patterns in the paper and just stamped right over the paper!   It's not an exact match, but instead an artsy way to add color to this black and white "coloring book" paper!

Quick Tip to quickly color in the Inside the Lines Stampin' UP! Sale a Bration "coloring book" paper by Patty Bennett

Remember, you cannot purchase this fun coloring book style paper, but you can get 12, 12x12 sheets free with your $50 order during Sale a Bration!  Click for more info.

Money-Saving Bundle!  Save 10% when you buy the Basket Bunch stamp set and Basket Builder Framelits together!  Click to order in my online store!

To fill the die cut basket, I stamped each flower in Archival Black ink onto Thick Whisper White cardstock and then colored them in with Stampin' Write markers and then went over them with a Clear Wink of Stella pen!

Basket Builder spring daffodil bouquet card featuring Stampin' UP! Inside the Lines Sale a Bration paper by Patty Bennett

My suggestion for die cutting and layering the basket is to cut the back layer in a darker color or sponge it with a darker color so that it shows through the top die cut layer.. it's it cool!?

I love these happy spring colors!

Easter Basket card with Inside the Lines paper

Sparkly Spring Stampin' Up! Easter Card!

I have combined 2 of the 2017 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Free Gift choices on my Sparkly Spring Easter card for you today!

I also have a tip for you for quickly coloring the "Inside the Lines" Sale a Bration designer paper ... read on! :)

Glimmer paper Easter Card featuring Stampin' Up! Basket Builder framelits, Sale a Bration glimmer paper and Inside the Lines designer paper and Stitched Shape framelits by Patty Bennett

What is Sale-a-Bration?  in a nutshell it means free gifts, perks for joining the Stampin' UP! family, and an extra $25 in free hostess goodies for orders over $250!  Read More Here...

The 2 Sale-a-Bration free gifts I used on my Easter Basket card are the "Inside the Lines" designer paper (I used it in the background) and I also used the new Glimmer paper to die cut the bunny, eggs and bow!

The grass and basket are die cut out of regular cardstock and sponged with color to give a little depth.  They are die cut using the Basket Builder Framelit die set on page 18 of the 2017 Occasions catalog.

To stamp Happy Easter, I combined images from 2 stamp sets!  Happy comes from the Birthday Bright stamp set on page 13 of the Occasions catalog, and Easter comes from the Suite Sentiments stamp set on page 54 of the Occasions catalog!  I stamped them on a die cut oval from the Stitched Shape Framelit set!

Spring color combo for Glimmer paper Easter Card featuring Stampin' Up! Basket Builder framelits, Sale a Bration glimmer paper and Inside the Lines designer paper and Stitched Shape framelits by Patty Bennett

My Stampin' Up! Color Combo!

These are the colors on today's card:  Mint Macaron, Sweet Sugarplum, Wisteria Wonder and Bermuda Bay.  The first 2 are current In Colors.

To quickly color a 12x12 piece of this Inside the Lines paper, I used sponges and ink to add color to the whole piece then I cut it into 4" x 5-1/4" pieces to add to my Sweet Sugarplum card base.

Sponge color onto the Stampin' Up! Sale a Bration Inside the Lines designer paper by Patty Bennett

When die cutting the basket, you'll want to cut all 3 pieces (for this card I used Wisteria Wonder) and then sponge the layers as you wish to add dimension to the basket.

Basket Builder fraemlits and Basket Bunch stamp set from Stampin' UP! is a perfect spring and Easter bundle!

Here is a closer look at the FREE Inside the Lines paper... you can get a 12x12 package of it FREE through 3/31/17 with your $50 online order here!

Easter is so early this year!! I remember the year my son Jason was born, Easter was a couple days after his birthday, and it's the same this year! Can you believe our son will be 25 on Friday!? WHAT!?  I know!! crazy!

I made a few of these sweet chickie cards to mail out for Easter and customer thank you cards.. hope you enjoy the idea!

Honeycomb Happiness Stampin' Up! 2016 Sale a Bration set Easter card with polkdot chickie and Confetti embossing folder, by Patty Bennett

I love how the Confetti embossing folder creates the perfect frame, and the "blank" space to stamp in!  The Easter greeting is from the Suite Sayings stamp set, stamped in Archival Black Ink.

Honeycomb Happiness Stampin' Up! 2016 Sale a Bration set Easter card with polkdot chickie and Confetti embossing folder, by Patty Bennett

After embossing the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock with the Confetti folder, I stamped the chickie onto the white card and also stamped the Easter greeting. Then stamped the chickie onto the yellow polkadot paper (see THIS post for that info) and colored the beak and feet with my Tangerine Tango marker.

Honeycomb Happiness Stampin' Up! 2016 Sale a Bration set Easter card with polkdot chickie and Confetti embossing folder, by Patty Bennett

Do you see how the feet are actually stamped on the card, so that you don't have to cut out the feet on the polkadot paper!? :)

To finish off the cards, I punched some flowers using my favorite little Petite Petals punch and the subtle polkadot paper from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper pack (#140557).  I was going to punch bright colored flowers, but then I really liked the subtle look of the nearly white on white.

I finished off the center of each flower with a Candy Dot.

Recognize the flowers on the God is Love tag?  They are from the Burlap and Blooms Wreath kit!  I decorated a die cut Oval Accents Bigz Clear die cut (#127005) with the paper flowers from the Wreath Kit and stamped it with a cross and God is Love from the Trust God stamp set (#132094 / 126702).  I finished it off with the beautiful Summer Starfruit Striped 1-1/4" Grosgrain ribbon (pg 24 Occasions catalog #132980).

Blessed Easter Tulips with Hardwood Background Fence card

Easter is coming soon... Many of us are enjoying God's wonders in our gardens, like tulips and other beautiful flowers.. SO, that gives me "an excuse" to blog more stamped flower creations! :)

Thank you for the amazing response to my Hardwood Background stamp fence card (here)!  When I showed it to my hubby he said, "How about a dog eared fence, have you tried that?"... well, I took the challenge!  Yep, guess what?! It's SUPER EASY with the Triangle Punch!!  check out my tutorial below for 2 easy steps to creating this fence, and see my VIDEO Tutorial here for more tips on using the Hardwood Backround Stamp from Stampin' Up!.

Blessed-easter-hardwood-fence-tulip-card-1

I used the Blessed Easter tulip stamp from the Occasions Stampin' Up! catalog (pg 20) and stamped it twice on Watercolor Paper, then used the technique shown below to "color" the flowers.  I cut them out and added them to my beautiful fence with Stampin' Dimensionals :)

How to Color the Tulips:

Use the Staz On Black ink pad and Watercolor paper, then follow the instructions below for "coloring" the tulips by stamping Real Red and Crushed Curry ink using the "brushstroke" stamp from the Happy Watercolor set.

I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Early Espresso ink onto Soft Suede cardstock, then applied Cajun Craze and Soft Suede ink with my Aqua Painter to give the fence more realistic texture and coloring.  And how about that EASY PEASY way to make the dog eared fence boards!!  :) :) whohoooo!

Last year the association in our neighborhood replaced the back fences for all of us... I noticed how irregular the colors are in the fence boards were so that's why I tried some different colors on this fence card.  The workers had to remove all of our vines and plants that had grown up all over the old fence for 20+ years.. so that's why my planter was so bare in this photo.. but we've replanted and have lots of pretties now! :)

Yep, the "ramp" is for our squirrel friends :)

Spring and Easter Control Freak Blog Tour

Freakwelcome2013

WELCOME to the March 2014

  Control Freak

  Blog Tour!!!

Our theme this month:

Spring and Easter ideas

You have probably reached me after visiting Heidi Baks' fabulous blog, and if not, be sure to travel backwards on the tour and visit her! :)

The first project I have to share with you is a cute punch art Easter Bunny featuring the Stampin' Up! Oval Collection framelits and oval punches.  Isn't she just TOO CUTE? (yes, she's a she!) :)

Punch-art-easter-bunny-basket-ovals

I had seen this idea online and my upline Sandy shared this bunny idea with me as well.  I thought my little bunny would look cute in a green polkadot Easter basket (from the dollar spot in Target)!

Punch-art-easter-bunny-oval-framelits
Do you like her? I am trying to think of a name for her... hmmmm any ideas?

Punch-art-easter-bunny-ovals-framelits<<<<  You can die cut and punch all the pieces you need from a 6x6 piece of designer paper.  This double sided pattern was from the Calypso Coral Celebration Add-on kit (#133431) found on page 30 of the Occasions catalog. The brown polka dots are on the other side of this pattern.

I used both the Oval Collection Framelits (#129381) and 3 different oval punches to create this cutie pie Easter Bunny and her polka dot Easter egg!

The eyes are punched with the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Shapes pack (#118309), and the nose is the Small Heart Punch (#117193). I used the Chalk Marker (#132133) on the eyes and a Basic Black marker to draw the whiskers and eyelashes.

I honestly think that the last 6 weeks could possibly be the fastest EVER! Where did the time go?  I haven't even had enough time to play with all my Sale a Bration goodies yet and Sale a Bration is almost done!

I know....WHAT!?  REALLY?  YES! it's almost done!

Well, since we have very little time left to share during Sale a Bration I wanted to share one of my favorite SAB card creations with you:

Sweet-sorbet-petal-parade-thinking-of-you-card

This is a pretty simple card and it just screams SPRING doesn't it!?

I just can't get enough of the gorgeous Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper choice this Sale a Bration!  It's so springy and colorful!  To receive your pack, enter item code 133521 as your free item with your $50 order online! You can click the shop online button at the top of my blog to place your order.

Sweet-sorbet-petal-parade-scallop-tag

I added 2 focal points to this card.. a punched tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (#133324) and a die cut label from the Apothecary Accents framelit set (#127003).  I've stamped them with the Petal Parade stamp set, which is ANOTHER freebie item from Sale a Bration!!!  Doesn't that stamp set just go perfectly with the patterned paper!? You almost can't tell which part is stamped and which is the paper! :)

Thank you for coming along on the tour today!!  Please enjoy all of the other beautiful spring and Easter projects we have lined up for you!!
