Rose Garden Birthday card with golden touches

Wow.. I stamped this a long time ago and never got around to sharing it!   I love the soft feel of this card!  Cindee and I created it together, and we used a card somewhere on the internet for inspiration, but as usual, we veered off course and made it our own.  Or it might have been a catalog sample.. now I don't remember!!

The pretty, feminine floral Birthday Bouquet paper is found on page 9 of the Occasions catalog.  We put a 2" strip of it at the bottom of the card, then layered the tag on top of a stamped rose image.  We used the rose from the Rose Wonder stamp set on pg 18 of the 2016 Stampin UP! Occasions catalog, and just stamped it in Whisper White craft ink and let it dry on the Blushing Bride cardstock card. 

We were doing our best to use layers.. lots of different layers.. so our tag has 4 layers plus the flower embellishment!

Noteworthy Card Design Features:

  • Corrugated paper was used for the tag
  • Ornate Tag Topper punch gives the corrugated tag a fancy feel
  • Banner Framelits created the 2 smaller banners, but you could also use the Banner Triple Punch, and the Banner punch was used for the smallest banner layer (see all products at the bottom of this post)
  • the Happy Birthday Greeting was gold heat embossed for a touch of class
  • we splattered the Gold Wink of Stella Pen onto the finished card - gold splatters are a great finishing touch!
  • the hand cut flower with Enamel Dot center gives one more layer of texture to the card

Wedding Card for our Niece

May 10, 2015

 

Today is a special day... Mother's Day!  Happy Mother's Day to all of my "mom friends"!  I also realized it's 5-10-15 which is just a SUPER cool date!! I was guessing there might me lots of weddings going on today because of the cool date, So.. why not share a wedding card I recently made!?

As I mentioned in this previous blog post, our niece Amy just got married... and of course I had to create a handmade wedding card for her... I used the beautiful "For the New Two" stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog and Calypso Coral ink and embossing powder to make it really special!

I wish we could have handed this to Josh and Amy in person, but, unfortunately, the 3 of us ended up SO sick that Easter Weekend and had to miss the wedding, but we wish them all the best and send all our love!

Lovely Amazing You Heart Card

Last month when I was stamping with Cindee, we decided to use this Stampin' Up! card idea from Pinterest to create our own version of this Lovely Amazing You card.

As you can see, we changed it up a bit, but used the basic idea.

I love how we sponged the Irresistibly Yours striped paper with Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo.. do you love the ombre look?

To compliment the glossy stripes, we heat embossed the "you make my heart happy" sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder! CUTE!

I also sponged a piece of the polkadot Irresistibly yours paper, then punched out a heart with the Sweetheart Punch and also used a piece on the inside of the card:

How to Video: Using Blendabilities on Black Cardstock

You are going to LOVE how easy it is to make these amazing cards with the Stampin' Up! Blendabilities Markers and the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set, NEW in the Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up! (see it on pg 35).

You will need your embossing supplies - White Craft Ink, White Embossing Powder and a heat tool, and then Blendabilities to color!  WATCH the VIDEO below for all the details!

The Samples above were stamped with the Corner Garden Stamp set and embossed in White, and the samples below were stamped with the Indescribable Gift set and embossed in White. Both were colored with Stampin' Up! Blendabilities markers.

The above samples were stamped on Basic Black cardstock, embossed and colored with the Blendabilities markers.  I also wanted to try this technique on other dark colors... the sample below was stamped on Elegant Eggplant cardstock, embossed and colored.

Embossed Resist instructions for Saundra's card:

1. add sponged color to Very Vanilla Cardstock

2. (I used embossing buddy after the ink was dry)

3. stamp Magificent Maple stamp in Versamark ink over sponged cardstock

4. sprinkle clear embossing powder over cardstock

5. heat emboss

6.  Brayer Early Espresso ink over entire card front

7. wipe off all excess ink with kleenex or paper towel

I really cracked myself up the other day... I reached into a little box that I thought had Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo Embossing Powder... and to my surprise.. guess what I pulled out... CHERRY COBBLER EMBOSSING POWDER!

So you may think, why did that crack me up???????

Well, first of all, I didn't even know Stampin' Up! SOLD Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.. but to make matters even funnier... I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD PURCHASED IT!!      

Ya, just a little embarassing, huh?

sooooooooo .. what did I do with this yummy Cherry Cobbler Embossing powder?

I used my Versamark ink pad and the Cherry Cobbler Embossing powder with this gorgeous swirl design from Elements of Style, on Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and on Whisper White Cardstock.

here is a close up to help you see the embossing... a little hard to pick up on the camera..

June Blog Tour - 2011/2012 Sneak Peeks & Summer Mini

WELCOME to the June 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour !!!

Our theme is Summer Mini Catalog products and Sneak Peeks from the NEW 2011/2012 Stampin' Up! Catalog!

You have probably joined me after visiting Liz Shultz's Blog and you can click on the "next blog" link at the bottom of the post to continue on the tour.

Our tour officially starts on Monday, June 20th.. so if you are joining us early, some of the blog tour links may not be quite up yet.. so please check back Monday morning for the full tour.

My first sample features the NEW DELICATE DOILIES stamp set from the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog to be released on July 1!!  I stamped it in White craft ink on Watercolor paper, embossed it in White powder, then watercolored over it. 

Doily mug tag
This mug was given to us on the recent Stampin' UP! Cruise to Alaska and has the +One Theme logo on it.  I watercolored 2 of the doily images, and punched out one of them, layered it onto a piece of Pacific Point cardstock punched with the Doily Triple layer punch, and then everything is layered onto a scallop die cut from the new Perfect Pennants die (also available July 1 in the new catalog).

 My 2nd sample features the same set with the same watercolor technique on the Delicate Doily stamp image:

The watercolored doily is cut out and layered onto one of the die cuts from the Perfect Pennant die, and then everything is layered onto a doily cut out from the upcoming Flirtatious specialty paper - yep, another NEW GOODIE you'll find on July 1!  The printed paper in the background is also from the Flirtatious DSP.  I finished it off with some Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon.
