Detailed Deer Christmas card with Woodland Embossing Folder

 I thought you might like to see a Christmas card idea I took to Orlando to swap with other Stampin' UP! demonstrators at our 2018 OnStage event!!

I used the Stampin' Up! Detailed Deer framelit with Copper Foil paper, the Woodland Embossing folder in the background, Glimmer Paper, shimmer paint, and more!

I love the deer die cut from the copper foil paper... it's really the focal point of the card!

The Woodland Embossing folder from Stampin' UP! creates the perfect background for this card!! The subtle tree trunks in the background were embossed with my Big Shot then I spritzed them with Frost White Shimmer Paint... scroll down a little to see more about that!

The greeting is stamped with Merry Merlot ink from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set on a Stitched Label framelit die cut and decorated with the Frosted & Clear epoxy droplets.

When I make multiple cards, I always cut, embossed, die cut, score and stamp all the layers first, gather all my supplies, then make all the cards.. here are my swap card supplies:

 

 

TIP!  Be sure to use Multipurpose Liquid Glue  when adhering your embossed images to your handmade cards.. it holds the layers together much better than dry adhesives.   I used it also when adhering the glimmer paper "snow" to the embossed image.

To create the Glimmer paper snow, I cut a 3" x 4" pieces of glimmer paper then used my paper snips to cut a wavy line down the middle, and that produced TWO pieces of snowy hills.  :)

 

 

The neighborhood squirrel was watching me from the top of the fence.. I'm sure he thought I'd lost my marbles! :)

Alpine Adventure Christmas Card Idea

 I had this idea in my head to die cut the Alpine Adventures sled with Stampin' Up! Wood Textures paper.. and I really love how these projects turned out!! I created Christmas card designs and a sweet pillow box for a small gift or gift card!

 

 The Alpine Adventure stamp set and matching Big Shot framelit dies are available as a bundle at 10% off - check out page 11 of the 2018 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog or HERE online.

 

 In addition to making dozens of cards with this bundle, I also used the same basic supplies to decorate a Pillow Box - it's the perfect size for a small gift, some chocolate, some JEWELRY!! :) or a gift card!

TIP!!

Before die cutting the Alpine Sled, add an Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Wood Textures designer paper, then die cut.  That way you can just peel the backing off and adhere it right to your project!!

 

I always like to get all my cutting, embossing, scoring, die cutting and stamping done first, then I assemble my cards.

 

 

I couldn't decide on which embossing folder to use for the background.. my original thought was the Corrugated folder but then I tried the Tin Tile Embossing Folder and loved that too!

 Design Notes:

• The greeting and snowflakes are in the Alpine Adventures stamp set and stamped with Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party ink on a Stitched Shape Oval die cut
• The sprigs are punched with the Sprig punch and Merry Merlot glimmer paper (Joyous Noel Glimmer paper selection #147817) and Pear Pizzazz cardstock that was spritzed with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint
• The gorgeous Cherry Cobbler plaid is found in the Festive Farmhouse designer paper pack and was punched with the Triple Banner Punch
• Final design note: tie a bow with a double strand of Linen Thread and use a Glue Dot to adhere it to the card
• Card Base: 4-1/4" x 11" Crumb Cake cardstock folded in 1/2. Embossed layer is 3-3/4" x 5" and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid glue

 I die cut the deer using Gold Foil paper and layered it over the Joyous Noel patterned paper.  (find it on pg 29 in the Holiday catalog or #147816 online).  I stamped the greeting from the Dashing Deer stamp set (part of the bundle) with Gray Granite ink on Smoky Slate cardstock and added gold metallic pearls to finish off the card above.

 

A little 1/4" strip of gorgeous copper Joyous Noel Glimmer paper and Silver metallic pearls finishes off the Christmas card above.

Glimmer Paper Ornament Card

 

Do you love glitter, glitz, glimmer and pretty shiny things? You will love this handmade Christmas Card idea featuring Stampin' UP! I saw this idea on a video by Dawn Griffith - she used the flower and butterfly stamp from the Beautiful Day set, and I wanted to see what it looked like using the Beautiful Baubles set.  You can try this with any "outline" stamp set.

Glimmer Paper Ornament Directions:

1. Stamp your "outline" stamp image with StazOn ink onto a window sheet
2. Write "front" with a Sharpie marker on the FRONT where you stamped
3. Turn the window sheet over and color on the BACK with Stampin' Blends (or any alcohol) markers
4. Turn the window sheet back over (so coloring is now on the back) and add your image to your card
5. I added it on top of a circle of the Joyous Noel 6x6 glimmer paper (#147817), pg 29 of the Holiday catalog, using glue dots under the darker spots of the stamped image

 

Additional design notes: 

I punched out a bow using the Candy Cane punch and the same Tranquil Tide Joyous Noel glimmer paper, and I also die cut "Merry" with my Merry Christmas Thinlit dies and the same glimmer paper.  TIP: put a multipurpose adhesive sheet on the back of your glimmer paper BEFORE die cutting the intricate dies!

 I am so in love with this pretty glimmer paper.. you really have to see it in person to appreciate it, but I hope you get an idea of how lovely it is on these Succulent Garden cards I made yesterday!

 

 

To make these pretty "doilies" die cut the Window Box framelit die with Whisper White cardstock and then die cut it again with a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles framelits.  

I adhered a die cut circle of glimmer paper behind each "doily" using my secret mix of 1/2 Fine-Tip glue and 1/2 Multipurpose glue.  It works great! Just set a large clear block on top while they are drying!

Cards below:  I used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Succulent Garden paper on a Thick Whisper White card base, and stamped the flowers and Happy Birthday in Archival Black ink.  The stamps are from the Big on Birthdays stamp set, pg 6 of the 2017 Occasions catalog.

I wrapped up the card with some Sale a Bration Metallic ribbon, and added the Window Box framelit "doily" with Stampin' Dimensinals.

Color Fusers Blog Hop: March 2017

 

I think you are going to enjoy this gorgeous In Color Stampin' Up! color combination!  I am participating in the Color Fusers Blog Hop again this month and am excited about my Gift Box project today!  For our challenges, we are required to use at least 3 of the colors each month, so I selected the 3 In Colors from the March 2017 Color Fuser combination.

My White Gift Box project features Mint Macaron, Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder.

 

 

Instead of a card I decided to create a gift box using the Stampin' Up! White Gift Box (#142000) which is 3" x 3" x 3" and comes with an acetate sleeve that you can slide onto the box.  I wrapped In Color Designer Paper around the box, and then decorated the front with doilies and die cut flowers and leaves from the Special Reason stamp set and Stylish Stems coordinating framelit set. 

I elected to put the decoration for the top of the box on the acetate sleeve. 

 

 

After wrapping the box with 2 layers of In Color designer paper and strips of Mint Macaron Sale a Bration glimmer paper, I added a Lace Doily and an In Color doily (Watermelon Wonder) and tied it all up with Peekaboo Peach ribbon!  Then I decorated it with the flowers (shown below) and White Perfect Accents in the flower centers.

 

 

To decorate my box, I stamped the Special Reason flower on the printed polkadot Mint Macaron In Color designer paper and also on Whisper White cardstock.  I die cut the flowers with the Stylish Stems framelits to add to my box.

Hello Autumn - Mr. Owl Card!

I just love the adorable new owl stamp with matching die cut in the Howl-o-Ween Treat set and Boo to You Framelits (pg 49, 2015 Holiday Catalog).  SO CUTE!!!  and why not put him in a tree and give him a top hat?  I mean.. really, why not? :)

BUT he needed some cute googly eyes, so I made my own with White Perfect Accents and a Sharpie marker! :)

And then he needed a top hat, because every owl needs a black glimmery top hat.. :)  The black Glimmer Paper in the holiday catalog is AMAZING.. The 12x12 Black Glimmer sheets are really easy to miss though.. you'll find them on pg 47!  I die cut the black glimmer paper with the hat framelit in the Snow Friends framelit dies, pg 33, #139664.

Die cut the perfect top hat for Mr. Owl with the Snow Friends Framelit die set.. so many cute "dress up" accessories for the owl, penguin, and snowmen in that framelit set!

The background of the card is a piece of printed Designer Paper from the Into the Woods package, and I lined the envelope with paper from the same pack as well.

Did you wonder how I made that cute tree for Mr. Owl to sit in!?  SO EASY... I used my Paper Snips and cut out a portion of the "Into the Woods" designer paper sheet that looks like woodgrain and I made my own tree trunk and branch!!  eeeks! :)

In my stamping world, the only thing better than a stamp image with a matching punch is a stamp image with a matching Big Shot framelit!! :)  How cute are these pumpkins!?  I used the new Sparkly Seasons stamp set and matching Seasonal Frame thinlits to die cut the pumpkin, stems and "spooky".   The pumpkins are stamped in Tangerine Tango on Tangerine Tango cardstock.

Wondering about the cute polkadot background? I used a card from a past Paper Pumpkin kit - it was black and white - and I brayered it with Tangerine Tango ink! :)

If you've been waiting for the perfect adhesive for delicate items like the Spooky die cut... check out the new Fine-Tip Glue Pen on page 43 of the Holiday catalog... oh my... it is such a wonderful way to adhere your fine, small or delicate items to your crafting projects!

 

 The paper I have featured in my projects today can be found on pg 47 of the Holiday catalog.. it's called Happy Haunting!

For this fun "BOO" black glimmer paper card, I took a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2" to create a fun side fold card design.

 

The Black Glimmer paper might be easily missed on pg 47... so DON"T MISS IT! :)

How fun is this glimmery black witch hat and "BOO" die cut!?

I used the Boo to You framelits (pg 49) for these cute glimmery black die cuts.

The big pumpkin is stamped with the same supplies as my first card, and the little pumpkin is found in the Howl-o-ween Treat set (pg 49) and die cut with the Boo to You framelits.

I love these 2 stamp sets from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog... Making Spirits Bright from page 48 (available in Wood Mount or Clear Mount) and Holiday Invitation from page 49 (photopolymer set).. so fun!! Don't they make cute Holiday Cards!?

I die cut Whisper White cardstock with the Apothecary Accents framelits in my Big Shot, and then stamped on those.  I also added pretty ribbons, Silver Glimmer paper and colored with Blendabilities markers after stamping with the Memento Black ink pad.. .all supplies are shown below and can be ordered online by clicking on each item.

It was time again for a monthly GIRLS DAY OUT and stamping day... My buddies Cindee and Lisa and I got together for a day of fun last week and we each designed a card and brought supplies for us to make the card.

Today I am featuring the card that Cindee shared with us.. it's SO COOL!

The amazing closure is made with the Stasmpin' UP!

One thing I kind of forgot about was coloring our Stampin' Up! Silver Glimmer paper using Stampin' Up! ink .. so, I tried it out again on these star punch embellishments!

I sponged color onto Silver Glimmer paper to create the Bermuda Bay glimmer star!

When I grew up and shopped for a prom dress (back in the dark ages), I can assure you it looked nothing like this... but.. from what I have seen in the stores in the mall lately, this could absolutely be a 2013 Prom Dress!

I used the Stampin' Spritzers with 70% rubbing alcohol and some Basic Black Reinker to spritz the Silver Glimmer paper for this dress (see this post for more info).. .isn't it gorgeous and dramatic!?

I also used the Stampin' Spritzers with 70% rubbing alcohol and a few drops or Regal Rose reinker to spritz the vanilla flower trim.

The background was embossed with the Lacy Brocade Embossing folder (#127819) and then sponged with a little Regal Rose ink.

Finish off this beautiful dress with Pearls (#119247) and some Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon (#120999)

I sent this card to Shelli at Stampin' Up! after she had called to congratulate me on a sales milestone and we chatted about the Dress Up! ensemble ... I hope she liked it!

Well, this was quick and easy!! 

Colored Glimmer Easter Eggs in a die cut basket!

I have instructions below for you if you want to recreate this card for Easter!

This card features the Pop n Cuts base and Dress Form dies, cut with the Big Shot... that is what makes it a pop up card!

The basket is die cut from the Stampin' Up! oval framelits - I saw this idea recently online and now I can't find that email.. so if you came up with this, please leave me a comment so I can give you credit.

 

The Easter Eggs are colored Silver Glimmer Paper.. if you missed the info on coloring your Silver Glimmer Paper, CLICK HERE to view instructions.

Get ready to color your Easter Eggs, Stampin' Up! style!

I sponged a little crumb cake ink on the basket and cut the bottom off flat.

Hmmm and you are thinking... GREEN GLIMMER PAPER... did she go rogue and buy contraband?

NOPE.. I colored it myself!

I filled a Stampin' Spritzer about 3/4 full with 70% rubbing alcohol, then about 6 or 8 drops of Gumball Green Reinker from Stampin' Up!, and spritzed my Silver Glimmer paper and my White Organza ribbon!!!!

 I punched 4 hearts from the Glimmer paper and cut a stem by hand.

How to make Black Glimmer Paper!!

FYI:  I added about 6 or 8 drops of reinker into the nearly full spritzer filled with 70% rubbing alcohol (don't use 90%).  You can experiement with more or less drops of reinker depending on how bold or soft you want your color.

Below: Pink dress.. use Regal Rose reinker in your spritzer on Silver Glimmer paper

Below: Silver Glimmer dress... cut 3 of the same dress and layer them to make a long dress

Gold/Champagne Glimmer dress: cut the straps off the sundress for a dramatic cocktail dress!

Below: keep it simple with a little red glimmer paper dress and some trim from the Artisan Embellishment kit
