Glossy Background Daisy Card

I recently learned how to make this GORGEOUS Glossy Paper background, created with Stampin' UP! reinkers, Stampin' Spritzer, and a Wink of Stella pen!! Cindee taught me how to make this fun background, and we created 2 similar cards with this technique, both of them featuring the amazing Daisy Delight stamp and Daisy punch!  (save 10% and buy them together in a bundle from Stampin' Up!)

These are the 2 cards we created with the glossy paper background technique.  The one on the right also features the same technique for the daisy and the Garden Trellis embossing folder on the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  The one on the left features a sponged daisy and the Oh My Stars embossing folder on the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.

Both cards are finished off with the beautiful Lemon Lime Twist ombre ribbon, and clear Faceted Gems.

You can find all of these Stampin' UP! products in my online store here, or scroll to the bottom of this post for links to each product.

Sponge Daubers are the key to creating the beautiful blended color on the daisy punch above!

I loved creating these cards with Cindee!! When she blogged these cards, she included a video tutorial. You can watch it here if you'd like to see how she created this background and the daisy.

To create the glossy paper background, you'll need glossy paper, reinkers (ink refills), Stampin' Spritzer or small spray bottle with water, and a Clear Wink of Stella pen.  Read below for the instructions:

It's really so easy and you can create these backgrounds in ANY color combo.

For these cards we used Soft Sky, Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim Stampin' UP! ink refills, the Stampin' Spritzer and Clear Wink of Stella pen.

After I cut up my piece of glossy background paper, and used part of it on a card, I used the other part to stamp the Daisy Delight image in Memento Black ink, then punched them out with the daisy punch. SO pretty!

Be sure to slightly curl the petals of your daisy using your bone folder for a lovely dimensional look!

I wanted the daisy to really stand out on this card, so I layered it onto a Whisper White circle that had been embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.. really a fun touch!

Video tutorial for Stamping on Glossy Paper - Adirondak Chair Beach Card

I was super excited to see Glossy paper come back to the Stampin' Up! catalog this year! (missed it? it's on pg 194, #144240).  I started stamping on glossy paper about 30 years ago.. it was such a hot trend with bold stamps and Marvy Markers, it's come and gone over the years as a trend, and now it's fun to explore the many uses for it in my craft room once again!

Today I am sharing a video tutorial to show you how to create this beach scene card with glossy paper, Stampin' UP! ink pads, stamps and accessories!

The darling red beach chair is die cut from the Seasonal Layers framelits. This adirondak chair framelit die is so popular, and I can see why!!  I stamped the palms and grass using the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set, and the little red flowers are from the Hello Friend set.  All of these supplies as well as the glossy paper, ink pads, stamps and accessories are available in my online Stampin' Up! store.  Click any of the product links at the bottom of this blog post to go directly to my store online. Please leave a comment or email me if you have any questions.

As shown in the video, here is the Stampin' Up! Color combo I used for this project:

If you watched the video above, you'll see how easy this card really is.  Here is a visual reminder of the steps I demonstrated in the video:

As usual, I could not decide on just one greeting for this card, so I made several and used 3 different greetings.

Live Laugh Love and Enjoy the Little Things are both found in the Layering Love stamp set (pg 46 in the current catalog) and the Hello Friend stamp is found in the Hello Friend stamp set, pg 17.

Each greeting is stamped with Island Indigo ink to coordinate with the Island Indigo card bases.
