Petal Cone Die Pocket - Luv 2 Stamp Group Mtg Make & Take

 

This was one of the Make & Take Projects I had ready for my downline at our Luv 2 Stamp Group meeting in February.  It features the new Big Shot die from Stampin' Up! called the PETAL CONE.  I LOVE THIS new die .. you can make a 3-D cone or make it flat!  So versatile and FUN ! 

 

You can put the contrasting 1/2 round scallop piece behind or in front of the 1/2 round flap.. 2 fun looks!

As you can see I also used the new FUN FLOWER DIE # 121812.

After cutting out the flowers with the die, you run them through the Big Shot again with an embossing folder for texture, and sponge the edges for dimension. Square Lattice embossing folder used here, #119976.

February Blog Tour! Birthday Theme

 

WELCOME to the February 2011 Control Freaks Blog Tour !!!

This month we are featuring BIRTHDAY IDEAS made with Stampin' Up! Products.  Please enjoy the samples and the tour.

My first Birthday Sample is a card I made with MY DIGITAL STUDIO.. this was my swap card from our Luv 2 Stamp Group meeting last weekend. :)

I printed the card fronts at home on my Epson R1900 photo printer and mounted them to Pretty in Pink and Real Red cardstock.  Then I added some Rhinestones (pg 188, # 119246) for a little BLING:

My 2nd BIRTHDAY SAMPLE was from my workshop a couple weekends ago, we made these fun cards using some great new Stampin' Up! products!!

Janice's workshop guests were able to select any of the patterns of paper in the fun FREE Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series paper kit, along wtih the self adhesive die cuts, the Ice Cream Parlor Ribbon and Buttons!  YES, IT'S ALL FREE!!  THese items are found in the Stampin' Up! Sale a Bration catalog!

They also used the fab fun Build a Cupcake Punch and the Create a Cupake stamp set.

This is my favorite new greeting...

You will find it on pg 21 of the Occasions Mini Catalog, in a set called Bring on the Cake.

A little love on Valentine's Day

Just sharing a Valentine made with the "LOTS OF LOVE" LETTERPRESS PLATE and the new "BE MY VALENTINE" a la Carte Stamp on pg 43 of the Occasions Mini catalog.

 I used both the full size craft pads and craft spots in 2 colors to ink the letterpress plates.

AND.. here is how you can use the Valentine heart stamp well after Valentine's day ... just cut off the "banner" portion after you have stamped the image and cover it with a punched out image :)

Beveled Windowpane Necklace - more info

I made one of the Beveled Windowpane necklaces for my downline Cindee who was so kind to take swaps to Leadership for me, since I could not attend... and several of you have asked for more info on how to make these.. so here are a few more tips for you...

<< NECKLACE I MADE FOR CINDEE

INSTRUCTIONS FOR MY WINDOWPANE NECKLACE:

1.  you will notice 3 sizes of Windowpanes in the package, I used the largest one for these necklaces.

2. measure the size of the windowpane you are using and cut your cardstock or DSP to that size

3. stamp or decorate your piece of cardstock as desired.

4. put a small amt of snail at the very top and bottom of the cardstock/dsp and adhere it to the back of the windowpane to hold it in place while you get the ribbon on

5. place this on the cutting mat from the Mat Pack, paper side down/window pane side up, and use the Craft knife to cut slits in the cardstock, (you will place your knife in the slots in the plastic)

6. Thread your ribbon through the slots and to the back, securing with sticky strip, or snail, or glue dots or Crystal Effects. (I used crystal effects)

7.  add a loop of ribbon to the top, using your choice of adhesive (I used Crystal Effects).

8. if desired cut another piece of DSP or carstock to attach to the back to cover the ribbons (see photo in this post for a back view).

9. string a length of ribbon through the loop for your necklace

10. embellish with your choice of Key and Crown Trinkets, brads, flowers, etc.
