Picture Perfect Stampin' Up! Swaps for OnStage 2016

As you know, I'm away in Salt Lake City, UT this week at the Stampin' UP! OnStage 2016 Live event (it's the new name for "Convention"), and of course I always take swap cards with me... meeting new friends, seeing old friends and swapping with all my buddies is a highlight of the trip!

Here are some of the cards I took with me to swap TODAY!!

Stampin' Up! OnStage swap card by Patty Bennett, Stampin UP! Demonstrator since 1995, featuring Picture Perfect and First Sight stamp sets and lace background paper.

 

I used the Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake notecards as my base card.  The lace is a patterned paper in the Timeless Elegance package of paper (soooo pretty!), and then I've added stamping in the background, and cut out flowers and leaves from the Picture Perfect stamp set!  All the stamps on this card can be found on pages 36 and 37 in the 2016 Occasions catalog. 

Some of you "joined me" on my fussy-cutting journey as I shared that on Instagram and Facebook on evening last week... here is what I was sharing as the night went on:

Stampin' Up! OnStage swap card by Patty Bennett, Stampin UP! Demonstrator since 1995, featuring flowers from the Picture Perfect and First Sight stamp sets and lace background paper.

 

I stamped and hand cut (fussy cut) about 100 flowers and leaves to add to these swap cards!

Many of you commented that you felt sorry for me or that your hand was cramping just looking at all that cutting, but I truly LOVE fussy cutting and it went pretty quickly.. I was done in just over an hour!

A few special details on this card:

  • 1/2 of a Gold Metallic Foil Doily tucked under the flowers makes this card really sparkle!
  • the "flourish" stamp is stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake note card for a subtle background
  • the "forever friends" stamp is stamped in Archival Black ink to really make this card pop
  • the flowers (from Picture Perfect) were stamped in Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral (I only used 2 of the 3 flower stamp images)
  • one flower is adhered right to the card and the other is raised with Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Wild Wasabi Seam Binding ribbon helps tie in the green leaves into the color scheme
  • the beautiful black lace paper is from the Timeless Elegance paper pack
  • a little hard to see, but on the very left side of the card, I also stamped a little "texture" stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Crumb Cake ink

Heading to Salt Lake City

Wow.. this snuck up really quickly.. I am heading to the Stampin' Up! 2016 OnStage Live event today in Salt Lake City, UT!!  You might recall we attended the November 2015 OnStage event in San Diego (click here) and it sure seems like the last 5 months went by really quickly!!

This OnStage event in Salt Lake City now takes the place of the traditional "convention" in July you've heard me talk about for the past 20 years.  Yep.. things have changed!  I've attended 19 conventions all around the country in July since I joined as a demonstrator!!!  Guess what.. I was asked to give a presentation on the main stage this year!!  I'll be doing that on Saturday afternoon with a group of leaders in the company!! :)

I am excited to spend the next few days with over a dozen demonstrators from our Luv 2 Stamp Group, plus several hundred of my other demonstrator friends from all over the world who will be attending!!

While we are in Salt Lake this week, we will get to see the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog!! Whohooo! That's a fun perk of being a demonstrator!!!

The upcoming RETIRING LIST for Stampin' Up! products:

Stampin' UP! will be posting the official retiring list of current products on Monday, April 18, at 1pm MT, so I will have a blog post up for you shortly after that with the retiring list.  REMINDER:  some items sell out VERY QUICKLY once they appear on the retiring list, so my suggestion is always this:  if there is something you cannot live without, buy it NOW.. don't wait to see if it's on the list.  If you are like, well, whatever... if it sells out before I order it I'm ok with that, then that's cool too. :)

Are you joining me at OnStage in Salt Lake City?

For the last 20 years I have enjoyed (ok, LOVED) attending the annual Stampin' Up! Convention each July!  20 years ago when I started attending,  it was in Las Vegas for several years, then I remember attending in Orlando, Minneapolis, San Diego, and Salt Lake City.  I'm sure I'm forgetting some locations.  (Denver was the only one I've missed). 

Demonstrators from all over the  country (and now all over the world) gather to learn about our new products, get the new catalog, create projects, play with new accessories, learn business tips, network with each other, swap cards, .. oh, and get very little sleep :)  It's so much fun!
