Painted Harvest stamp set sunflower stamping tips and color combo by Patty Bennett. Stampin' UP! 2017 Holiday catalog.

 

The side fold card below features Stampin' UP! Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 4-1/4x11 and folded in 1/2.  I layered a piece of 4"x5-1/4" Basic Black cardstock on top of the folded card, then a piece of the fall patterned paper from the Painted Autumn designer series paper pack on that.  Over the patterned paper I've added the die cut Old Olive Scalloped Layering Square with a Whisper White Stitched Shape square and the "kindness" greeting from the Painted Harvest stamp set stamped in Archival Black ink.

I stamped the sunflowers in Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry ink (per the video above) then added clear Wink of Stella to give them some glimmer!!  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched out with the new Leaf Punch.  Save 10% when you purchase the Painted Harvest stamp set and Leaf punch in a bundle!!  #146021

The sweet note card below is stamped on a thick Very Vanilla note card (they come with matching envelopes!) and all I added was a strip of designer paper from the Painted Autumn designer series paper pack and some Mini Chevron Crushed Curry Ribbon.  Sweet and simple!

I love the pretty new Cotton Paper from Stampin' Up!  You'll find it on pg 148 in the 2015/2016 Stampin' Up! catalog.  (or here online, #138308).

You can use any floral punch or Big Shot die or framelit to cut out several layers of the paper and then assemble your flower!

Below is a visual comparison below using different dies and punches.

The smallest flower is about 1" diameter and the largest is about 4" diameter.

See below for step by step directions to create the paper flower.

I pierced the center and added an Antique Brad to hold all the layers together!

Stampin' Dimensionals worked best for holding the flower onto the box.

I also used the Sahara Sand Lace to wrap around the box, after stamping the box with the Hardwood Background stamp.

Another tip.. just to dress up the tag a little bit, I used my Paper Piercer, Piercing mat and Essentials Paper Piercing templates to add and oval of pierced holes around the stamped greeting.

I was working on this card and my friend Ashley said, "it reminds me of Lilo and Stitch".. she showed me the photo below... and sure enough.. it kinda does!! :) Did you spot the new Occasions Catalog and Sale a Bration items on this summery flower card!?

I used an 8-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base, folded in 1/2 to make a 4-1/4" square card, and I used the flower pattern in the FREE Irresistibly Yours Sale a Bration paper for it... I brayered Calypso Coral ink on it .. do you remember that I showed you that a few days ago?  SEE BELOW for instructions on coloring this GREAT FREE paper!

I added a 2" strip of adorable splashy blue paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty DSP pack (pg 12 of the Occasions catalog) and I also die cut 2 flowers with the same piece of paper (it's polka dots on the other side of the splashes).  Do you know where this fun new flower Big Shot die is?  It's on pg 30 in the Occasions catalog and it's called Bouquet Bigz L Die.  #137367 available HERE online.

So what's in the center of the flower?  ONE of the pompoms from the new Calypso Coral Pompom trim, pg 12 Occasions catalog. I used some Tombow Multipurpose liquid glue to hold it in place.

Easter Egg Vase Centerpiece

Ever wonder "What to do with those left over plastic Easter Eggs?" I have a great idea for you!  I saw this idea on Pinterest (you can see all my Easter Fun ideas here) and I decided to try it!  

Need eggs? check out the dollar stores!   Check out the HOW TO photos below for all the instructions.

Simply place a smaller vase into a larger vase or jar, and start filling small plastic Easter Eggs around the smaller vase!  If you don't have the right size vase, I recommend checking the Dollar Stores for great bargains!

Recognize the flowers on the God is Love tag?  They are from the Burlap and Blooms Wreath kit!  I decorated a die cut Oval Accents Bigz Clear die cut (#127005) with the paper flowers from the Wreath Kit and stamped it with a cross and God is Love from the Trust God stamp set (#132094 / 126702).  I finished it off with the beautiful Summer Starfruit Striped 1-1/4" Grosgrain ribbon (pg 24 Occasions catalog #132980).

Gifts of Kindness Flower Punch Note Cards

I love flowers.. wow, SHOCKING right?  :)  I'm sure you've noticed that a LOT of my blog samples have stamped or punched paper flowers!? Right?  I hope you are not tried of them!  Because I have another flower card sample for you today!

Today's samples feature a stamp set that's been around for almost a year, and I used it for a base for these paper flower cards.  The stamp is from GIFTS OF KINDNESS, found on page 83 of the large annual Stampin' Up! catalog.  I punched out flowers and put them on top of the stamped image!

Here are the supplies I used on these cards... Gifts of Kindness stamp, and 3 flower punches: Pansy Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the NEW Petite Petals punch (pg 33 of the Occasions catalog).

I'm not sure which one I like better... Black Candy Dots (above) or Colored Candy Dots (below)... which one do you like best?

I used the Stampin' Up! Whisper White note cards then layered a piece of Tangerine Tango Cardstock over that, and then the stamped piece of Whisper White over that.

Hexagon Hive... have you used it?

I'll admit it... I had not had time to play with the Hexagon Hive frameilt Big Shot die yet. This is a new product in the 2014 Stampin' Up! Occasions "Celebrate the Everyday" catalog.  So, you can imagine how excited I was when Cindee pulled out this project for us to make when we were stamping together last week!!  Lisa made one too!

You Make Me Happy from the Happy Watercolor stamp set was stamped on a die cut banner in Island Indigo.  The base card (4-1/4" x 11" folded in 1/2) is also Island Indigo.

As you can see from this product photo, the framelit cuts out hexagon shapes randomly and leaves some of the paper in the design.

Cindee's card uses this framelit in such a unique way.. the Whisper White Hexagon Hive die cut is placed OVER a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer paper, so that the color and pattern show through!

LOVE IT!

We decorated the card front with punched out flowers from the new Petite Petal punch (pg 33 in the Occasions catalog).

I think you'll agree with me.. the flowers look really great when you sponge the edges just a bit.. I love that special touch, along with the Pearls in the centers!!!

 I was stamping with Cindee and Lisa a few days ago, and we got out the Spiral Flower die (new in the 2014 Stampin' UP! Occasions Catalog) and we were going for a "vintage style" flower or rose... we tried several techniques, and it was interesting how each of us basically did the same thing, but our flowers came out so differently!!

Take a Guess... Do you know which flowers are mine?

I love how they ALL turned out!

I will be working on a video this weekend to show you how we created these GORGEOUS flowers!

My Luv 2 Stamp Group had a great stamping day a couple weeks ago.. we call it Stamp A Rama.  Each person brings a project to demonstrate and then we all make it.  I wanted to share those wonderful projects with you over the next several days.

This is the gorgeous box Sharon Howard taught us how to make

The Box top and flower are made with the Gingham Garden Paper.

Sharon gave each of us a bazillion embellishments and allowed us to custom design our box however we wanted to!

I just loved the addition of the curled skinny strips of cardstock .. use a skewer or paintbrush handle to curl the cardstock - so easy!

Sharon's box instructions:

Box Base (cardstock): 8-3/8" x 9-5/8"

Box Top (DSP): 8-1/2" x 9-3/4"

Score at 2" around all sides on each piece and cut to score on the short side for the flaps to make the box.
