Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles are such a fun stamp set and framelit die bundle - new from Stampin' UP! this summer!! This is such a quick and easy card, especially when you use the versatile Whisper White Note Cards and the Tin of Cards greeting set!

I die cut the "wave" with Dapper Denim carstock and then glued it with Multipurpose glue to a piece of Marina Mist cardstock, cut to the same wave shape at the top with my Paper Snips. 

Yes, I know my sailboat is kind of floating... not sure what I was thinking... maybe it's skipping along the waves  :)

I highlighted the Dapper Denim "waves" with Clear Wink of Stella to make them glimmer!

The sails, greeting and sun are stamped with Real Red and Daffodil Delight ink from Stampin' Up!.

Blendabilities Update:

I am VERY Sad to share this news with you - The Blendabilities Product Line has been Discontinued.  I know.. I think we all need a moment to take that in.

  • As I shared with you last week, the Blendabilities markers have been experiencing defect issues, namely that many of the markers arrived dry to the customers.
  • In a nutshell, the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem and provide Stampin' Up! with a solution. Therefore the product line has been discontinued.
  • The good news is that Stampin' Up! is committed to ONLY selling the BEST products available, so rather than ship a defective product and continue to send replacements, they have made this decision.
  • The Memento Black Ink pad and refill will still be available (and that's great news because it's a fabulous black pad!)
  • What should you do?

            1.  If you currently have a pack of Blendabilities on backorder that you purchased, do nothing, you will receive a refund from Stampin' Up! within the next month.

            2.  If you have selected a free pack of Blendabilities from hostess rewards or from a Sale a Bration choice  and they are on backorder or defective, please complete the survey (CLICK HERE) - have your original order number handy - and you will be able to select a replacement Sale a Bration or hostess item. 

            3. If you feel you have a defective package of Blendabilities, please contact Stampin' Up! Demo Support at 1 800 STAMPUP.

            4. If you need ideas for coloring your images, we still have our great Stampin' Write Markers here, our Blender Pens here, and our AquaPainters sold here to use with your Stampin' Up! ink pads.  

 

Note: due to the unavailability of the Blendabilities as part of the advertised Sale a Bration offering, some of the other 14 Sale a Bration products MAY run out.. stamp sets will be available through 3/31/15, but the other items MAY risk selling out.

Balloon Bash Birthday Card

I know I've told you before how much fun it is to stamp with Cindee... and yep, we had another play day!!  We made several cards and this one was super fun!  I saw the idea online but there was no watermark so I don't know who originated this idea, but we thank you whoever you are!  We stamped the Balloon Bash "just for you" stamp "on the reverse side" of the photopolymer on our Whisper White Cardstock with Pool Party ink first, then turned it over and stamped the actual image with Memento Black ink. If that totally doesn't make sense,  SEE THIS VIDEO for more info on "stamping the reverse side" of your stamps (same technique shown at the end of the video with the tree image stamped on the wrong side).

So after stamping the "wrong side" and then stamping the right side, then we inked the stamp with Pumpkin Pie ink and stamped it on a scrap, and cut out the "just for you" banner, and added it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Cindee said... we must decorate the inside of our card... well of course! :)

Such a GREAT suggestion Cindee!  We used the balloon stamps in the same Balloon Bash birthday stamp set and added a piece of the Birthday Bash DSP too! Ink colors:  Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.

So after Cindee's great suggestion, I had an idea... and we added the In Color Sequins to the front of the card...  ya.. don't tell anyone I'm a clutz with the liquid glue..

I love the starry background.. I made that with Bermuda Bay ink, a sponge dauber and the Irresistibly Yours paper (a free selection with your order during Sale a Bration).

I stamped the SHINE greeting on a die cut Shape from the Apothecary Accents framelits using my Big Shot.  I stamped the stars around the greeting and adhered it to my card with my Snail adhesive.  The stars are from the "You Brighten My Day" stamp set, it's on pg 11 of the Sale a Bration catalog.  Do you know all about Sale a Bration?   FREE STUFF sums up Sale a Bration! :) You can also color the epoxy stickers like I did with the Bermuda Bay Blendabilities marker! (the small stars were colored).

I love the striking contrast of the Blushing Bride soft pink, Rose Red and Black!

I know it's hard to see but I added 3 small Epoxy sticker hearts to the Great Friend tag.. just a sweet little touch.  The Great Friend stamp is a FREE offering during Sale a Bration!  It's in the "Simply Wonderful You" stamp set on pg 16 of the Sale a Bration catalog.  Need a catalog?  email me: [email protected]

 

I had the idea to stamp the fun swirly stamp images on flower die cuts, so I die cut flowers from the Floral Frames Collection Big Shot framelit dies and I loved how they turned out!  I stamped them in Rose Red and Strawberry Slush ink.

So in addition to stamping the background of each card with the swirl, I stamped the flower die cuts as well.

TIPS: 

BONE FOLDER:  Curl the petals of the flower upward with your bone folder for a little dimension and then layer them with Stampin' Dimensionals for more depth!

WASHI TAPE:  The fun black accents are just some strips of Stacked with Love Washi Tape.. if you haven't used Washi Tape yet, give it a try.. what an easy way to add accents to your projects!

Gentle Peace Stained Glass Christmas Card

I just love this gorgeous Gentle Peace Stained Glass image of the Baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph.  I am so glad that Stampin' Up! added this gorgeous stamp set to the Holiday offerings this year!  Available online here!

LEFT:  stamped with Black StazOn on Vellum    RIGHT: stamped in Black StazOn on a Window Sheet

I wanted to do something really different with this set, so I stamped one image on Vellum Cardstock and the other image on a Window Sheet, and then colored the image on the back with Blendabilities Markers!

NOTE:  both images were stamped with Black StazOn Ink and COLORED ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE with the Blendabilities markers

As you can see on both cards, I decided to die cut an opening in a simple Whisper White folded card using the Apothacary Accents framelit die and then mount the colored piece behind the opening.  On the vellum image, I backed it with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, but on the Window Sheet piece I did not use a backing.. you can see right through it to the inside of the card.

Both are beautiful in person.. I hope they come across that way on your screen!

This box is 4x4 square and 1-1/2" tall.  I thought it was perfect to add a die cut Wondrous Wreath image because it already has the round window image!! Need a catalog? Let me know!

In addition to stamping the red berries on this one I decided to add some sweet little flowers.. I punched them out with the Boho Blossoms punch and some printed paper from the Trim the Tree paper stack!  TOO CUTE!!!  :)

How to stamp and die cut the Wondrous Wreath

 Once the wreath is die cut, add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back and place it over the round window sheet opening in the box.

I die cut a ribbon for the wreath using the same Trim the Tree Paper Stack and the bow framelit in the Wondrous Wreath framelit set.  Using the Magnetic Platform is very helpful in keeping the framelit right on the part of the paper pattern you want to use.

Do you love the Pearl centers in each flower? I do!

 I wrapped up the box with about a 24" piece of Cherry Cobbler 1" sheer linen ribbon so that the box can still open even with the pretty ribbon around it.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Card

Dotty Angles.  Ok, is it just me or is this a funny name for a stamp set?

Well, none-the-less, I LOVE this fun dotty background!

Find it on page 98 in the catalog or HERE ONLINE.

I've stamped it 3x after inking it once, which gives the faded dot effect, like they are kind of falling down the page.

Dotty-angles-beautiful-bunch-flower-stampin-up-cardsI inked it in Calypso Coral ink and stamped it on Wisper White, then layered that onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and then on to Calpyso Coral cardstock.

The floral focal point is stamped with the Beautiful Bunch stamp set on Calypso Coral cardstock in Calypso Coral ink. It's punched out with the Fun Flower Punch. 2 flowers are layered together and the center is stamped and punched as well.  The leaves are actually the same flower stamp, but stamped in Old Olive ink on Whisper White paper, punched out and then each "flower" is cut into 1/3rds and used as pairs of leaves!
