You may remember almost 2 years ago I shared some Quilt Cards (here and here) that I created with Stampin' Up! punches and designer paper.  I truly treasure all the quilts I have from my grandmother, great grandmother and great aunts and loved using them for inspiration in my designs. So, I decided to create a "grandmother's garden" type quilt with My Digital Studio and the Hexagon Punch in MDS.

My Digital Studio Hexagon Punch Quilt Cards

This is the "card front" that I created in My Digital Studio using the "paper fill" function and the Hexagon Punch MDS download.. I printed 4 on a page on my color HP laser printer and used them as card fronts.

Then I ran the printed pieces through the Big Shot with different embossing folders to make them look kind of quilted or like fabric.

Doesn't the cloud embossing folder (#127022) look kind of like stitching?

I also tried the Elegant Lines embossing folder (#119277), and added a Paper Doily #129399, and a flower from the Artisan Embellishment kit #129328 on top of a Floral Framelits diecut #127012.

I added a small piece of hexagon printed DSP from the Tea for Two pack #129311 at the bottom of the card

My 3rd sample features the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder #120175 and Calypso Coral and Daffodill Delight cardstock

Isn't it amazing how the embossing folder makes it look like it's really quilted!?

Another Beyond the Garden Quilt Card

Awhile back I shared one of my Quilt Cards with you .. thank you for your very kind comments... here is another "quilt card" I made using the BEYOND THE GARDEN DSP from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini catalog (pg 23) and the new BLOSSOM BOUQUET TRIPLE LAYER PUNCH, also found in the Summer Mini (pg 6).

Quilt card 2

On Whisper White Cardstock I drew a dashed line with the Peach Parfait Stampin' Write Marker, and added the punched out shapes with Dotto.  Then snailed it to the Beyond the Garden piece of DSP and then put those 2 layers into the Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  Those are layered onto a folded Peach Parfait card.

Patty quilt One thing I have treasured since I was a little girl is this quilt that my grandma and great-grandma made for me (completed about 1965) ..  they both called me "Peaches & Cream" and this quilt was supposed to remind me of that.

I decided to try using some of our Stampin' Up! punches to make some quilt cards.. I came up with a couple and wanted to share one with you today.. .

While this is not supposed to duplicate my quilt, the quilt very loosly influenced my card design.

HOW I DID IT:

I punched out different designs with 3 punch images from the BEYOND THE GARDEN Designer Paper pack (#122342) in the Summer Mini catalog (pg 23).   Here are the 2 paper designs from that pack that I used:

Beyond garden dsp quilt

Qullt punches 1 Punch used for paper #1 for the squares: Postage Stamp Punch, #122344, pg 10 Summer Mini Catalog

Punch used for paper #1 and #2 for large and small flower: Boho Blossoms Extra large punch, #119858, pg 200 Stampin' Up! catalog

After punching the postage stamp squares I used a Poppy Parade marker and drew stitching lines around the edges.

I sponged the edges of each flower with Poppy Parade ink and a sponge dauber and used a pencil eraser to "stamp" the flower centers.

I layered the small flower on the large flower and then onto the postage stamp piece using Snail adhesive.

All of the pieces are layered onto a So Saffron panel, then onto a Peach Parfait panel and onto a Poppy Parade folded card.

Hope you like it! Have a fab day!
